Started reading OPM Manga and At first, I thought that the Chapters are shorter than other manga but after sometime I realized that I got Invested in that Manga more than I did in others
I got into the webcomic and to be honest I wasn't expecting that Amai Mask storyline. I thought I knew where that character was going, but wow does ONE know how to craft a story.
The 2 panels in the manga where Psykos fires that beam it Tatsumaki and it pulls out to show the extent of the damage is one of the only pieces of art to make me actually gasp.
Murata's OPM is godlike. Recently, Tatsumaki's fight against the monster chick blew me away. And Garou was cool in ONE's version but the build up and character development in the remake is so good... The character development in Murata's version is just better in general tbh, each character gets really fleshed out.
For me, One punch man, Solo leveling and plunderer I consider god tier art(ranked in that order). The amount of detail and flow is incredible. Honesty, its impressive that season 1 of OPM was able to match quality of the manga.
The Arc the Manga is about to reach is genuinely gonna be some of the best art of recent anime fights in my opinion, Murata is putting his all into these upcoming fights without a doubt (readers know what I mean 😈)
FINALLY someone mentioned Eyeshield 21!! It's so good. The original anime animation just didn't live up to the manga's art. If it ever gets a reboot, I'm on board.
if you want a more prominent comedy, read the OPM webcomic. once you get over ONE's peculiar artstyle, it's genuinely a really cool read as well. if Murata had a sleepless night of bingeing it, I'd say that's a pretty good indicator.
I can always appreciate a Gintama reference, especially when it's the only one to make Joey laugh out loud. Though as Connor said, the anime is much better for the comedic aspect of things. My #1 comedy of all time.
In terms of what is funnier in execution for Gintama. I would say the anime does a more impactful way, like there is a mood with the fantastic voice cast , the music and sound effects and the animation( which sometimes goes into live action, other anime style, etc). The Gintama anime also added so much more tham what a manga print medium can offer. Plus it being in motion and has effdcts kinda makes it easier to understand quicker
finished it some weeks ago and i was stunned by the art. to make it so high quality and at the same time "realistic" (not cartoony/anime-esque) must be fcking hard. detailed, wide scaped and different from typcical manga.

Monster for example(has one of my favorite characters in fiction: Johan) which is one big story of whats truly good and whats evil, the struggle of staying true to your beliefs in one big fucked up gray world, and on the otherhand, it also showcases what might happen if a person remains perfectly straight and unshaken in their goals and what they believe- Unfortunately this "resolve" belongs to the cold bastard Johan. It's easily a more complex story than OPM bru

Just so you know. Reading OPM can be very frustrating too. We have been going through over 1½ years of redraws, which is very frustrating when you are waiting for new chapters. Also these redraws isn't always better then the og chapter. Unlike other mangas OPM does not have set schedule. So you don't know when a new chapter will be released. Those are some of the cons you should be aware of.
This is why I stopped waiting for new chapter and just wait for the physical release. I mean I get it why an opm chapter can rook so long (I mean the art is godly obviously), but like you said waiting is a pain in the ass.

I’m gonna be that guy. The original creator ONE is the real reason why OPM is as great as it is! Murata’s artwork is out of this world, I’m not gonna deny that, but a lot of the panels in the remake are just straight up remastered versions of the original. And when it comes to story, characters, humor, most importantly the morals, that’s all ONE. ONE’s web comic version is ongoing right now, as his version already went into several whole new arcs past Garu, and Murata’s version deviates from the original even more, we can see the two versions as their separate thing now. Imo, ONE’s version still keeps the quality of his stories, and his artwork has improved a lot after Mob Psycho 100. While Murata’s version drags on for too long, even though the artwork is god like.

I prefer the pacing of the web comic over the manga. Right now, the monster association arc feels really bloated at the moment. God knows how many times Murata can redraw the Phoenix man chapters.

Although the premise is novel and at the same time really silly with where the manga is going atm, it still feels as if there's more to the story than it lets on. ONE's storytelling paired with Yusuke Murata's drawing skill and insane work ethic, OPM may become one of my favorite mangas soon at least in terms of enjoyment :)

Many people who gets into Onepunch Man manga is because of the "fluidity" of the manga panels. It's more animated than the anime series of Onepunch Man itself. Just see the sparring battle between Saitama vs Genos, or Saitama vs Carnage Kabuto, or the 1st fight of Saitama vs Speed-o-sound Sonic.
OPM is easily my favourite manga. The story is basic af but it's characters, action and art are so god tier you don't even care. People in the extended cast are some of the most hype people to follow which is a rare thing.
OPM has my favorite cast in animanga it’s just insane how ONE made every character so interesting and unique and that he continues to flesh out side characters and introduce great new ones in the webcomic it’s insane
Tbh the story rn is amazing. You can break it down to this. 1. Heroes attack monster Association hq 2. Tatsumaki lifts the base and the s class fight the cadres 3. Garou arrives and beats everyone and saitama arrives late and they fight. But after the monster Association arc the story gets so much better the story tho right now is already amazing and unique
People who enjoy the art style of OPM/Eyeshield 21 should give Suzuka a shot. Very different genres but the character models/art have a similar feel. Clean, beautiful and emotive. Not to mention that the guy who does Suzuka could shit out a top tier waiful models at the drop of a hat.
I disagree with Connor on his take on comedy in Manga and Anime. I find reading comedy moments in manga to be funnier than anime because when you're reading you're going on your own pace rather than anime which has a time limit. You have more time to process the joke and letting it sink in when you're reading and it's easier to look back at gags and see the whole joke. The timing of the joke is reflected on the person's own reading ability and how they go about reading the manga. We normally read in the language we're comfortable in which I think helps because we imagine how the characters sound like. A good mangaka would know how to panel to set up a joke. Although, Anime have the advantage of music, voice acting, and animation, Manga however have the advantage of the reader's imagination and full control on the comedic timing of the manga. There's less risk to mess up a joke when you're reading a manga cuz there's more requirements in an anime. Manga of OPM was funnier in my opinion because I was going at my own pace. Sometimes the jokes in the anime wouldn't land because it was too fast to process and had no proper build up or the scene itself wasn't done properly and didn't translate well to anime format. Felt that way especially with OPM season 2 and some other anime. I think this also applies to a lot of genre in Manga like Horror. Junji ito for example.
I'm don't read a lot (generaly speaking, like books in school and manga or others). I read it quite fast but don't understand much of what i read sometimes. Either cause i'm lost or forget what they said. The only manga i read in my life is Opm and none other. Mainly cause i can't wait for season 3 it's toooo slow. But i don't want to spoil my self so i don't read other manga's.
It just sucks that i can not find a decent site where i can read the manga in high/good quality. If you know such a site, i would gladly to hear about it, so i can follow the journey along musashi.
OPM is absolutely amazing and I love it but somehow I still think Mob Psycho 100 is better. At least in terms of storytelling though I will concede a big part of that is OPM leaning more into humor.
The plot is good, but the artwork is what pushes it to be amazing. The number of redraws is kind of annoying, but when things are on schedule it's something you really look forward to every two weeks.
I haven't read the manga, but as for the anime. The first season was a great 8/10 with occasional amazing moments. The second season was a solid 7/10 with occasional great moments.

I barely read manga, only read OPM manga and webcomic because of the anime, all I can say is that reading the manga mainly just means you won't have to wait for the anime. So if you want to wait for the anime, feel free.
OPM manga is very annoying because it's just replaces some chapters. Like fight with Phoenix was redrawn 3 times, and Demon Kind fight was completely different, with additional lore about god.
ONE clearly stated some time ago that many of the additional battles, action scenes, and even dialogue, are Murata’s ideas. He will run them by ONE before they make it into the final release, though. Murata’s the one who keeps scraping the chapters he puts out and redrawing them.

OPM is easily my favourite manga. The story is basic af but it's characters, action and art are so god tier you don't even care. People in the extended cast are some of the most hype people to follow which is a rare thing.
OPM has my favorite cast in animanga it’s just insane how ONE made every character so interesting and unique and that he continues to flesh out side characters and introduce great new ones in the webcomic it’s insane

Tbh the story rn is amazing. You can break it down to this.
1. Heroes attack monster Association hq
2. Tatsumaki lifts the base and the s class fight the cadres
3. Garou arrives and beats everyone and saitama arrives late and they fight.
But after the monster Association arc the story gets so much better the story tho right now is already amazing and unique
Maybe don't spoil the major plotpoints of an arc, hmm?

Glad to see eyeshield 21 still being talked about. Still one of the best sports anime I've ever read/watched if not the best.
People who enjoy the art style of OPM/Eyeshield 21 should give Suzuka a shot. Very different genres but the character models/art have a similar feel. Clean, beautiful and emotive. Not to mention that the guy who does Suzuka could shit out a top tier waiful models at the drop of a hat.
Eyeshield has amazing metaphors, but Usogui is the best at it.

I disagree with Connor on his take on comedy in Manga and Anime. I find reading comedy moments in manga to be funnier than anime because when you're reading you're going on your own pace rather than anime which has a time limit. You have more time to process the joke and letting it sink in when you're reading and it's easier to look back at gags and see the whole joke. The timing of the joke is reflected on the person's own reading ability and how they go about reading the manga. We normally read in the language we're comfortable in which I think helps because we imagine how the characters sound like. A good mangaka would know how to panel to set up a joke. Although, Anime have the advantage of music, voice acting, and animation, Manga however have the advantage of the reader's imagination and full control on the comedic timing of the manga. There's less risk to mess up a joke when you're reading a manga cuz there's more requirements in an anime.
Manga of OPM was funnier in my opinion because I was going at my own pace. Sometimes the jokes in the anime wouldn't land because it was too fast to process and had no proper build up or the scene itself wasn't done properly and didn't translate well to anime format. Felt that way especially with OPM season 2 and some other anime.
I think this also applies to a lot of genre in Manga like Horror. Junji ito for example.
I'm don't read a lot (generaly speaking, like books in school and manga or others). I read it quite fast but don't understand much of what i read sometimes. Either cause i'm lost or forget what they said.
The only manga i read in my life is Opm and none other. Mainly cause i can't wait for season 3 it's toooo slow. But i don't want to spoil my self so i don't read other manga's.

OPM is absolutely amazing and I love it but somehow I still think Mob Psycho 100 is better. At least in terms of storytelling though I will concede a big part of that is OPM leaning more into humor.
The plot is good, but the artwork is what pushes it to be amazing. The number of redraws is kind of annoying, but when things are on schedule it's something you really look forward to every two weeks.

I haven't read the manga, but as for the anime. The first season was a great 8/10 with occasional amazing moments. The second season was a solid 7/10 with occasional great moments.

I barely read manga, only read OPM manga and webcomic because of the anime, all I can say is that reading the manga mainly just means you won't have to wait for the anime. So if you want to wait for the anime, feel free.

OPM manga is very annoying because it's just replaces some chapters. Like fight with Phoenix was redrawn 3 times, and Demon Kind fight was completely different, with additional lore about god.

ONE clearly stated some time ago that many of the additional battles, action scenes, and even dialogue, are Murata’s ideas. He will run them by ONE before they make it into the final release, though. Murata’s the one who keeps scraping the chapters he puts out and redrawing them.
