    Did the same dash a few weeks a go at work. We did the corners with a French seam.

    Madness! Why improve a perfectly flawed vehicle?

    I like the way you repaired that dashboard, I want to do the dash on my 96 discovery and I will use your method , just wondering, would contact cement work on the leather? good video 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

    Those scissor sharpeners look amazing! Where did you get them/what brand?

    • @coastalcushionco8227
      @coastalcushionco8227  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The scissor sharpener is made by Fiskars and is over 30 years old, but is no longer for sale. They do sell a different one but is not as good and brakes easy so I would not bother buying one

    Amazing job 👌👌👌 can we replace the steamer with heat gun?

      I have never tried on leather, but I know you can if you are using vinyl., but it is very easy to over heat with a heat gun.

    It’s obvious you have a mastery of that Jiffy Steamer when using on leather/vinyl for your benefit with install. There really isn’t any ‘good’ videos on best practices or tips/tricks.....have you thought about doing one for us less fortunate?

    How much does it cost to do something like this?

      For the whole dash including the passenger grab handle is £1100

      @@coastalcushionco8227 Surely that's not the DIY price. What would it cost to do this myself?

    • @coastalcushionco8227

      @@nb8c_fd Half a hide of auto leather starts around £100 (trade price)but can be 5 time that depending on quality. The glue would cost around £30 you don't need a steamer a heat gun would work so if you don't have one then factor that into the cost also knife blades scissors and any other tools you may need. so you could do it for about £200. but you may have to buy a full hide and extra glue for any mistakes that you have to redo. good luck. you will have to show me the results

      @@coastalcushionco8227 Brill, that's more reasonable! I likely won't be doing it until next year, but I'll certainly come back to this video when the time comes.
      If I remember to send some pictures I will, but I can't promise I won't forget 😅
