Why does the Indian Government not use logic when making such changes to policy. If I have a valid 10 year visa and the Government is requiring me to request a new visa then make the process simple! If a visa was granted then all this information should not be needed. Do you have existing valid Visa, if YES then provide scanned images of your current passport/visa and we will issue a new visa. If the government has issued the current visa then why do you have to provide all the supporting documents again? Such a waste of time. India will never be able to Keep IT Simple!
US Citizens, providing SSN for National Id is not required, we can enter NA, and got approved. Generally we are not comfortable in providing SSN to anywhere than US Govt forms, same I don't remember US asking India's Aadhar number for any reason.

This year I applied for one of my friend and this is happened, i applied this visa online October 8 2022 and i put the estimated arrival November 6th 2022 because we are planning to visit India 6 or after 6. But when we receive the ETA its showing the validity of ETA starts from NOW (Oct 8) till November. Hi Suja, I've spoken with several immigration officials, and they don't want you to write USA where it says "city/town of birth". ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD WRITE THE NAME OF THE CITY OR TOWN OF BIRTH ACCORDING TO THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE! There is a question below that that asks for country, and that is where you write UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, or whatever country listed in your passport, so that it matches the passport is sufficient. For those born in India but are US citizens, place of birth in their US passports is usually just INDIA. For city/town, write the name of city or village you were born in ACCORDING TO YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. If you do not have birth certificate, then you must show some proof of where you were born.

Yes, You have to surrender the Indian passport.
I believe you need surrender only if it's still valid. If it's expired, then I wouldn't worry about it. But check with immigration to be sure.

Yes , you have to notarize the parental authorization form. You can ask your local bank or ups will do for some amount

E visa can be applied directly , you dont have to go through vfs

Hi Suja, I applied for the student visa but after I upload the my photo it takes me to another page where I have to upload documents of which I myself can’t even access and it’s a struggle for me really. I want to get to confirmation of details page. Is it something I did wrong perhaps?
Hi Suja/Community, Applied yesterday fo 5 year E- VISA years for my daughter who is 14. Got approval today through an email. The approval is in email itself and not as a separate pdf. Is this a problem? Do I need to worry about not getting approval as pdf?? Please let me know. Today is April 7, 2022.

As of now one year tourist visa still remains suspended.. you can only get it for 30 days
Thanks for the video. I am planning to travel to Indian in January 2023. In the application for 30 days e visa, it is not giving me the option for January and February 2023 for the month of expected date of arrival. How far ahead can we apply for the e visa? can i apply 3 months ahead, do you have any idea on that?
According to their instructions, apply for eVisa only if your expected date of arrival is within 120 days of application.
Currently we can apply for only 30 day visitor's visa or emergency visa? Can I apply for multiple entry, 10 year visa?

Hi Suja, I've spoken with several immigration officials, and they don't want you to write USA where it says "city/town of birth". ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD WRITE THE NAME OF THE CITY OR TOWN OF BIRTH ACCORDING TO THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE! There is a question below that that asks for country, and that is where you write UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, or whatever country listed in your passport, so that it matches the passport is sufficient. For those born in India but are US citizens, place of birth in their US passports is usually just INDIA. For city/town, write the name of city or village you were born in ACCORDING TO YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. If you do not have birth certificate, then you must show some proof of where you were born.
what about citizenship or national id? do we still use our SSN or type in "N/A"
