Haberlin used to convert stuff to bitmap for coloring. I like Miki's inks even Glapion's on Capullo, but there is something about McFarlane inks on Capullo pencils something with his line weights that just seem right.
Converting the files to bitmap is pretty standard I know that there's ways to do it where it doesn't look as pixelated which I learned kind of later. For me post Finch. I had this series of steps I had learned at Wildstorm and actually Cully Hamner online was nice enough to share his settings. I blended the two ideas. Now I don't switch it over to bitmap but do an LZW compressed Tiff. The colorist may convert it though. I don't know!
YES! Hyped to watch this vid! Just picked up a bunch of old issues of Spawn this week! Also, somehow I had the notification bell turned off but I got it back on now :)
I bout 3 pages of Capullo/Miki art from Spawn #71 and #97 direct from Greg. It's incredible to see in person and can't be stressed enough the attention to detail.
Huh. For some reason I'd been tempted to turn this off early in the video, but I'm glad I didn't: your talk on lazy, letting your style into it and attention to detail are on point. 2/3s the way through and I'm still in. ✌🏽🤘🏼
I really hope that they do a Spawn Vault Vol 3 and just do as much of the original art of Capullo's with TRADITIONAL inks by McFarlane, Miki and Wolf and whoever else worked on the book during that run they can find. I'd buy that in a second. Not complete issues with when Greg started, but show his evolution on the book because his art changed big time during that run. I would love to see Miki's stuff actual size in b&w those pages have to be insane.
@@RichardFriendartist I commented on a post Todd made a while back on FB and he actually responded back to me positively about the possibility of a Vol 3. Maybe there's something in the works.....Vol 1&2 were successful, but he also had his art at hand in the "vault".
I liked Bachalo’s stuff, but many times his pages seemed to be inspired by “Where’s Waldo”...so much detail and content in small areas. Hurt my brain at times to look at
I actually dropped Spawn right around the time Greg's work started getting really soupy and caricaturist like. For my taste his Spawn run peaked in the 50-60 range.
@@RichardFriendartist I thought Reborn was pretty good. Metal was kind of like his Spawn work for me...so many lines, so much going on in each page and in each panel, I really have to focus to tell what's what. There's some great stuff in Metal but as a whole I go cross eyed looking at it. I think the colors are partly to blame though, plus the nature of having to cram so many characters on a page.
@@jason5388 oh yeah. Event books at DC with teams versus teams are always crammed with stuff. I never was a fan of working on those types of series. I like to be able to see the art better! haha
Sadly Pedi's published work was not his best. He had stuff for Troll which I dont think ever got published which was this great blend of Sam Keith Wolverine and Todd on Spider-Man.

Always enjoy Greg's work. His layout are never boring and totally fun.

Awesome!! No worries. I seriously dont hustle this channel that way. I'm here to hang out and enjoy art.

Hell yeah!! That would be awesome. Todd could get me to buy several more of those books for SURE!!!!
And I agree one sad thing is that Danny really isn't online and there's not a ton of high Res scans of his amazing inks!!! We need this book! Lol

@Richard Friend: I can recommend the Batman Unwrapped books to get Greg's pencils. Those are hardcover trades which are complete pencils only stories.
I own it! I recommend those books all the time on my Patreon. There's no Spawn Unwrapped pencil book of Greg's pencils as far as I've seen
I gotta get the Spawn Compendium vol 2 now

It can happen! Disorienting! 🤪

Blaster kid!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Big Capullo fan since Quasar, but I don't like his Spawn stuff. He kind of took on that rubbery McFarlane style
Are you a fan of his current work. He's done a lot of runs post Court of Owls.

@@RichardFriendartist man it's a shame...coincidentally I was going through troll issues earlier today on pirate sites! Arrrr!
great content
Thank you!
