The reason the lyrics sound so different is because there’s Serj the lead vocalist but there’s Daron the guitar player and he does backing vocals. If you listen real close in some songs you can really hear it.

For the longest I thought Arto was a troll song. But just searched it up it translates to “lord have mercy” and is played at funerals the instruments are Armenian and is meant as a dedication to the Armenian genocide that is a central core to their band. Never knew that and I’ve been listening to them for about over a decade now

What do you guys mean by a "troll" song?
Like, I know trolling means to mess with people to get a rise out of them, but how does this translate to music.
Could I get some examples of some other "trolling" songs? This might help explain it.

1:22:00 Someone probably mentioned it, but SOAD guys are from Armenian families, as said in Songfacts: "Arto" is System Of A Down's version of the Armenian hymn "Der Voghormia," which translates to "Lord Have Mercy" and is traditionally played at funerals as a prayer for the dead. It's titled "Arto" because their friend Arto Tuncboyaciyan played on it.

Serj Tankian is the main vocalist. Daron Malakian is the second vocalist and the guitarist. Arto Tunçboyacıyan, a Turkish-Armenian folk artist, wrote Arto with Serj as a guest on the album and I believe he also does the chants in that song. All of the members of SOAD are Armenian and Armenian folk plays a big part in their unique sound

Important to notice that Arto just was born in Turkey. I remember the documentary when he was in Yerevan taking sometimes in Armenian and in English. I agree to pick a top 3 on this album is impossible. My personal favorites are atwa or forrest which is crazy cause chop suey is there biggest hit. I got to see them last week live for the 3 time i got to seem them as a child and didn’t appreciate the greatness. SOAD and Deftones were killing it. John Dolmayan the drummer put it perfectly individually no one in tve band is the best at there craft but together they are the best band of all time. The beautiful part of this album is every song is repeat worthy timeless and can never be outplayed.

Arto features Arto Tunçboyacıyan. If you dug it he did an entire album with the lead singer Serj called "Serart". It's quite experimental and pretty awesome.

All band members are armenians. The last song Arto contains armenian folk melody that played during funerals.

Ohhhh great reaction! This album doesn't fuck around.
You should try Tool. They're similar in the progressive aspects, while being heavy, intellectual real shit, and funky odd time signatures. A few of their introductory songs are: `The Pot`, `46 & 2`, and `Aenema`. (Audio only - music videos are distracting af).
They're a great band to do full album reactions to also, but their songs are a bit long.
    Anyway, spiral out!

8:28 love what you doing dawg, but back when this was released on CD the songs meshed, so from the end of one song to the start of another, they played off each other, just a heads up, the production for like slipknot and black label society and these guys, they were meshed🎉

Great Reaction, I love this album so much, but I can't wait for you to hear the next one, Steal This Album! is my personal favorite album from them, extremely underrated in my opinion.
Edit: also I hope you keep it up, I watch a LOT of reactions but sub to very few, I subbed to you a few reactions ago immediately because you are one of the exceptions and not the rule, in the way you actually make your reactions transformative and entertaining, and not just sitting there and listening while not doing/saying anything.

One of my favorite parts of their albums is also how well their songs blend together, but I understand why that might be difficult for you to do, due to TH-cam.

    Hola.
Ya que entraste en el Alt Metal, puedes ir con Tool, el Ænima y el Lateralus son sus obras maestras, también el 10,000 Days es excelente.
Creo que Ænima es el mejor para empezar y a mi parecer tiene más “hits”.
