Tidy work! That boost to 20psi does seem wild! I have every faith you'll find the issue. Didn't realise you were planning on going to the ring with it one day, can't wait to see it all built up slapping round the nordschleife!
Good video and very clean work, keep up the good work
The max PSI is 15psi on a stock tune for the 225. Depending on what diverter you have, it can fail in few different ways, If it's a spring type (after market) it will either seize open or close. If it seizes open you will build little to no boost. If it seizes closed you will be dumping excess boost into the compressor wheel and you will hear alot of turbo flutter. If you have the diaphram style and if fails (tears) you will have issues hitting peak boost and holding. If you have a vacuum leak and you don't have a pump or smoke tester go ahead and replace anything that looks crusty. It's seems to me like your car may be flashed. If you were over boosting (20psi) you would hit boost cut, and the car will go into limp mode, and you won't be able to boost past 5 psi. Also, you should have between about 20 inches of vacuum. Check the hard line for the break booster and the black vacuum check valves as well.
Good video. Good info. Thinking of doing the catch can mod mysel.
Around 15 PSI max is correct for standard 225, mine peaks at 15 (probably just under as the gauge probably is 100% accurate).
I Made my own Smoke Tester it's very easy to make all you Need is a Windshield wiper fluid Pump and 2 Pieces of Rubber Hose for the Inlet and the Outlet and an Electric Vape Pen Works really Well. 👍
Interesting will have to try that…
I was able to get into my pcv and replace that breather tube off the case without removing anything. When yhe enhines cold you can snake youre way in there. On the longitudinal mount. Looks like this ones even easier.
@@911Audits I’ve got short fat fingers 😂😂😂
Just for reference if it boosts strong I suggest it’s possibly got a stage 1 map.. stock 225s are flat 👍
Have you got any warning lights on the dash? And also Have you got a smooth idle ? Ideally you need to run VCDS it will bring any codes up 👍
@@DaveJenkins82 eml could be a 02 sensor going bad there’s 2 on 225s .if it is always buy BOSCH sensors nothing else .
@@DaveJenkins82 esp light could be a few things MAF sensor brake pressure sensor ABS sensor . If you plug it into a diagnostic tool it will tell you
And cylinder 2 could be a faulty coil pack .. check for any oil around the rocker gasket as there very common to leak 👍
@@DaveJenkins82 that snapped plastic crank case breather on yours it’s very common for that part to fail .. give us shout if you need any advice 👍
@@DaveJenkins82 also check the half moon seal that can be done same time as rocker gasket .. something else too that leaks that’s the seals on the injectors 👍
@@DaveJenkins82 the injector seals are only made of rubber. There tiny think there’s 2 seals per injector 👍
Oh wow ! I only live around the corner from you, have you seen a silver TT in the village, thats me.
Ah yea I’ve seen it 👍
@@DaveJenkins82 I’m having occasional boost issues that I need to investigate. That’s how I ended up watching your video 👍
If you get stuck ping me
@@DaveJenkins82 thanks, I’ve just got to be arsed to sort it out 😂
Which pillar mount is best for my tt 2003 ? Would send a link for the one like yours ?
Yes you didn't say anything about the mount.

@valveauto apologies YT has removed all my responses for some reason.
Acid test !!! Could you explain please?
Should have suction against oil cap created by the breather vacum so shouldnt dance around.
What this POCK needed for? Cant you go from oil breather to catch can and straight to valve cover?
It for oil separation but I’ve now removed mine out of the system as not needed 👍
Excellent video mate! Clear explanation. I got pretty much all I needed from this & got a couple clear screen shots
Glad you found it useful thanks for following.
