But just *how* reliable are turbo engines? With carbon build up, high pressure fuel system, piston rings and "blow by" etc creating slight oil dilution. Other than that and the infotainment/gauge clusters, i absolutely love this car.
The screen looks nice compared to most cars. But I still am not a fan of a stationary screen that sticks up! It always looks better if it’s molded into the dash.

Mazda Turkiye stopped importing 3's for years because of bigger than 1.6 liter engines heavily taxed. I hope to see 1.5L turbocharged mazda's in future.
Yeah, I just bought the 6-speed manual in soul red crystal metallic. Would have been nice to be able to pair with the red leather interior but that wasn't an option. I'm not sure why Mazda doesn't allow you to pair any color combinations. Seems like a lost opportunity as I'm sure some buyers will be turned off. In no way shape or form does it feel futuristic though with giant touch screens and capacitive buttons, which may be a benefit or downside depending on your taste.
Shame that the non-turbo doesn't have the same black-out accents & such. Not interested in dealing with the idiosyncrasies & longer-term pitfalls of a turbo engine.
@@Rockito912 Yeah, that was one of the first things I had to do on my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition, along with blacking out the silver roof rails, the painted roof between the rails & the lower trapezoid section of painted hatch where license mounts. You can actually get the OEM parts in black. The front portion is like $150 - $200. The side mirrors were $50 each. The chrome on the side doors, yeah ull still need to take care of yourself.
There are no longterm pitfalls from turbo engines. They are currently the most efficient and reliable engines today. Maybe in the 80's. But theyre in everything today.
@@eliahmccraig7891 So is GDI & doesn't' mean it is a good thing. A pure GDI turbo engine is a recipe for carbon sludge buildup, even more so than a regular GDI engine that doesn't also include port injection. I'd be very careful purchasing a new Mazda. I bought a new 2022 Mazda3 in 2022, the premium version from Safford Brown Fairfax Mazda. After submitting numerous pictures and with the dealership's internet not working, Mazda does not want to take care of this. They are saying it is normal wear and tear, and my car is STILL under warranty! Might be heading to the BBB soon.
Because of leather changing color?! Lol good luck trying to win that haha. There are so many factors so it'd be impossible to prove. Like amount of light entering the vehicle daily, parking in direct sunlight, what kind of chemicals have been used on it etc.
You'd think someone who wants to video themselves driving might invest in a used GoPro or some other mount instead of giving a masterclass in 100% distracted driving. Kinda kills the mood a bit.
$32K for a little sedan, ouch. The non-turbo trims are pretty sweet but that weird infotainment setup with the dial ect is a no-go for me still. Had that in my cx-9 and hated it.
