On one hand, I'm sad that another Blazblue fighting game seems pretty unlikely at the moment. On the other hand, I'm glad they're at least doing *something* good with the IP. This game has been on my radar for a while, but it's cool to see it shaping up. Thanks for checking it out Haelian!
With Ragna's story arc finished and the creator leaving Arcsys, that's as final of a note to the story as we can get. Arcsys continuing the story with a new mainline IP would feel weird to me tbh. I guess it depends on how well it fits with CF's ending, but it would feel like they're milking someone else's legacy.
@@PotionSmeller @badger7411 I agree with that, but I still can't help but wish to see those characters get some real time in the FGC spotlight again. I can't imagine a game like Blazblue being made without its original creator either, or at least not in the form that we'd think of for the series. Still, getting rollback was huge for BBCF, so I can't complain too much.
@@LinkThinks Something set in the same universe can probably work, but I don't know about a direct continuation. Overall I can't blame the devs of this game for trying to avoid touching the BB story completely, and steam reviewers getting mad about it is pretty ridiculous.
Cool game ! BB always felt like the game had so much lore it would fit into another genre than fighting game, glad to see they're trying out new things
I started watching this video on my phone. Finally got to PC and this is one of those games because of the zoom level, wow, it's a different experience seeing it on PC.
I still feel so mixed about this. On one hand, "BlazBlue" as an IP has definitely been having a rough time lately. The developer, ArcSystemWorks, has been increasingly sidelining it ever since they got the rights to their main series, "Guilty Gear", back. The last two projects using its name ("Cross Tag Battle" and "Dark Wars") ranged from being contentious to an outright failure...all resulting in the original creator, Toshimichi Mori, leaving the company. And now with "Entropy Effect", ASW basically isn't involved with it at all aside from granting the license to a foreign developer. But on the other, given the above, this is basically the best we're likely going to get for the series now. It does look nice enough and the mechanics seem to have some promise at least, despite some overall roughness. Only time will tell I guess.
Being the colossal Blazblue fan that I am, seeing a new game (even though it's not a mainline fighting game and just a spin-off) makes me super happy. I'll have to pick this up. Aside from Mai who else is playable. I'm assuming Ragna is one of them. And possibly also Noel or Jin.
Noel, Hakumen, ninja boy, cat girl engineer, Ragna, NO. 11, and pudding girl are all in the game. Jin, and assassin cat girl are coming later on. (I couldn't remember all their names lol)
Really Kokonoe and Hibiki are playable but we have to wait for Jin? That's a little shocking. Although I guess with Hakumen we technically already have Jin. No Tager, Kagura or Makoto makes me a little sad though.
@@KillaCheeto56 we don't know that they're not going to be included. So far this game's story has nothing to do with BlazBlue so I'm guessing that's why important characters like Jin aren't in it yet
@bestmimic I guess that makes sense seeing as this is a spin-off and in early access. Just a little shocking that certain mainstays are currently absent. Would love to see Azrael, Bullet and the other characters I mentioned get added.
It feels a bit weird to me. I've known Blazblue as a fighting game from its very first entry, and this game, while having great potential, seems like a completely different universe. I can only hope that at least some of the musics from the original games will be back and/or remixed, because these do so much for the ambience and uniqueness of the games
This game is wild but needs some work. Picked it up this morning and having a blast with it. Still not sure about some of the mechanics like how to build up your heal. The gameplay is top notch though.
At the end you showed a really long list of "boons" and talked about how many there are, but honestly if they were grouped by type it'd seem like a more manageable list even with the same number of entries. I don't think it's a lot considering the number of boons you can get in Hades, you just have a lot more control there using the god keepsakes. This would keep the game more fresh by making it truly more of a rougelike, unless there's a way to control what type you get later on.
Seems like a dope game, one thing I'm noticing right away is that it probably is going to need another translation pass at some point. The English is really awkward and stilted, some things don't really make sense and the grammar is a little off.
Im not sure what to thing about this game... i really like Blazblue but i dont know if this game is what i wanted tbh i think its bad timing since the last bb game didn't have the best reputation(i hope thats the word i meant) would have been better after a great game to take advantage of hype imo but i'll still try it either way if its on console(preferably switch since it looks like a fun handheld game)
Bought this game yesterday. Really been enjoying it so far. Works great on Steam Deck.

Seems like they're doing something that takes way less resources, maybe as a proof of concept to show there is still interest in this IP.
I'm not familiar enough with the series, but isn't Ragna like deader than dead?

Thanks for the run. As a big fan of bb, this vid convinced me this was totally my kind of game c:
Bro! This game is really cool! As someone who plays Hakumen, I am glad they have him in this game xD

Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Why are there so many interesting games launching this month? This is like the 6th game I want to get.
Looks really good, this better not turn out to be another Neon Echo.

Definitely has a lot of promise, not perfect yet of course.

you can group them by type. haelian was in the "show all of them at the same time" tab, you can filter by specific classes of boons (fire, ice, etc)
the graphic it's seem like icey
She looks great too. 😊 hope she has a good day.
bro what
