Code Vein made gameplay easier by offering an AI companion every step of the way, but it's very difficult to play solo. This game gives a slightly more forgiving system but the damage still being high sounds more like a feature than a criticism to me.

I played the demo for this the other night. I quite enjoyed it. I do think that they need to polish up the dodging a bit more as the timing for me felt a little hard to figure out when I had I-frames and for how long, but maybe that also had something to do with enemies being kinda tough to telegraph. But other than that definitely a game I would pick up on release.
That's one thing people seem to underrate : familiarity . And i'm glad you mentioned that ; many new games especially when coming from a relatively unkown source use the familiarity tactic and it doesn't mean they're copying nor does it mean that they couldn't have done it any other way . When people see a new game and literally everything is new , down to the controls , people will be less inclined to try it out and this game will sink in the shadows .
Played the demo. Enemy design is good. Player character design is bad. The combat mechanics themselves are fine. Its just that this character is certainly meant to be nimble, but they are bogging her down because that's "souls-like", and the end result just feels like a clunky and unresponsive character. Her attacks and zero-cooldown dodges clearly indicate she's meant to be played much faster than the game is allowing her to do.
I definitely agree with you on this, but I personally thought the MC design was pretty decent although it's nothing to write home about. But yeah, the dodging and attacks definitely do feel a little slow, and when I was playing they really felt like they were supposed to be a bit faster, especially the dodges, they felt weirdly slow and that made it hard to time them for me. Hopefully they take in some feedback from the demo and tweak it up a bit because I think the game definitely has some potential.
That map was so brutal dude. I played the whole game by myself. Then a few months later I went through it with a friend. When we got to the cathedral I was internally like oh fk I forgot about this shit lol I ended up pulling a guide up on my other monitor to assist in navigating through it because this was my friends first souls like game so I didn't want that level to ruin it for him. I just played it off like I halfway remembered the way through. PS: I still managed to get lost a few times even with a guide! 🤣
I just looked the game you mentioned up on Steam. It looks sick dude thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely end up playing both more than likely. Code Vein Is one of my favorite souls likes and the aesthetics of AI Limit really remind me of it.
I am picturing a similar expansion to the sync rate thing, instead of your middle bar sweet spot, what if there were a different item that makes the sweet spot be when your bar is empty, the more sync you have the lower your damage so you'd want to spend it as soon as you have it available. This would lead to a completely different even more aggressive play style focusing on special skills rather than normal attacks.
ok now THAT sounds fun, im only just getting into using spells against Lore (after extensive adjustments to my Keyboard settings) and i definitely like the sound of this build, hopefully it uses Dual daggers move set as well, for something like this a speed-based weapon sounds like the best fit
While everyone says it's like Code Vein (I agree with that), the lighting and shading makes me think of a dark and gritty version of Gravity Rush cause it's almost cartoonish.
Just tried the demo for an hour. I actually enjoyed it, even I got handed a couple time. There are a couple of items that needs tweaking (dodging feels weird and the lock-on is quite buggy) but I'll definitely be giving it a shot after release.
i am sure as the game releases and updates they will probably run some patches and stuff to flesh out the game a bit more maybe improving enemy combat and movements and reducing the health loss on hit a little but it’s still important to remember that the game is at most being run by a small group of indie devs who even if they are passionate are also still new to the game development scene and likely won’t get everything perfect the first or even second try and at times game development comes with issues either during development or on release even if the people behind it have been developing games for like 20 or even 30 years so for all you hater’s out there just wait patiently for once in your life for at least maybe a month or so to see if the game has improved at all cause for sure as soon as the game is released and play tested the devs will be working on a patch update to fix any issues that pop up in player feedback
Faster step dodging and attack anims, plus a rally system would go a long way to make this feel faster, smoother, and fit the "nimble anime character" vibe it seems to have. While also filling the bloodborne niche that sony refuses to fill. Definitely gonna wishlist it though. Looks Promising.
wdym AI Limit is "the closest thing to Bloodborne on PC"? First, we've already got Lies of P and second, there's literal Bloodborne coming to PC through emulation with incredible speed!
yeah but not from sony. like always modders have to satisfy the consumers which the devs are lazy pricks. only reason bloodborne doesn't count is that the people who made the game literally do not own it anymore. but that really shouldn't matter since the current owners can make the port. so really that excuse is dumb.
I want to give it the benefit of the doubt, but this just seems derivative of Code Vein even down to the monster designs and plant themes. The player character being an android with big swords and a white bobcut also feels very much like a 2B standin

The gameplay looks really good. You can really tell the developer is a huge fan and took big inspiration from God Eater and Code Vein in both aesthetic choice and gameplay design. The Sync Rate is similar to God Eater's Oracle Point in which you can spent to hit enemies with ranged attacks or heal your allies and is regenerated by hitting the enemy with your melee weapon, but the addition of linking it to your damage multiplier is unique enough to give it identity of its own. However, the animation and overall graphic just feel like downgrade Code Vein with less polish
