The man could sing , and he knew how to make folks smile..He was as good as any country singer , but he was just to far ahead of his time..a few more years and he would have been as big as Garth Brooks ever thought about being..rip you helped this old trucker through many a long night
And Keith Whitley is my favorite COUNTRY music singer number one lost him to soon at the age of 34 years old when he passed away from alcohol addiction and his music will always lives on forever Keith Whitley was left handed just like me
Gosh just heard this song for the first time. Probably came out when I was born. What a voice! Love the lyrics. Why don’t they make music like this anymore! He is amazing.
Still better than most songs coming out of Nashville. I stick to the singers of the 20th Century to the point that I don't pay attention to new artists on radio. It's just me with my records and CDs. We miss you, KW.
I just bought the Keith Whitley wherever You are tonight album CD and I seriously think had he released those and have some live audience concerts with those songs they potentially all could have been number ones. He was a man born to a world that had forgotten about what real country was and almost completely brought it back. since it's passing the country music world has died but has become more popular due to the fact that it is no longer country music. I'm 21 years old and he's by far my greatest favorite singer ever. Thanks for all the demos that I have loved to listen to.
I was thrilled to meet Keith in Nashville way back in 1987....will never forget it! I'm so happy he is going into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year ...it is long overdue
Watch the Kieth Whitley documentary, he unfortunately didn't think he was good enough as he only got to experience the beginning of what was to come, he felt like he was failing, all the while being an excessive alcoholic, was truly a recipe for disaster. Had he held out just a year or more later he would've seen his music top the charts. I think whoever his team was failed him, and ultimately led him to his death, they could've prevented him from making these choices by having financial advisors and should have put him in a top dollar rehab for a few months. But on the other hand, it was his decision to drink, and continue to drink, he had an infant daughter right before he passed, if anything he should've slowed down or quit for her.
I really I really like the song hard-living and the video was really nice too I think it would make a nice song for line dancing I recently got a couple of CDs for my daughter-in-law and I really like all the songs in a minor he's missed a lot I listen to a lot of his songs and I feel like he's still around saying here I am I'm never going to be forgotten God bless and amen from Massachusetts and Maine

Me personally I think Keith Whitley was more popular than Garth Brooks back then he was a legend!
Keith was one of the all-time great country singers. Left us way too soon. Rest in eternal peace.
Agreed with you lost Keith Whitley to soon to alcohol addiction at the age of 34 years old when he passed away

Man I love this song.... What I would give to have that Jazz Bass Randy is playing....
Nashville misses police chief Joe Casey. The last good Chief there. Keith is missed too. Those past demons just wouldn't let him be.
