      Congratulations!!! Be patient with getting used to cooking on it and enjoy. If you haven't checked out our roundtable where we talked about must have accessories definitely watch it. If you make it convenient to use you will love it that much more. Top 5 accessories in my opinion, good squeeze bottles for water and oil,, good scraper, good "flipper" aka long spatula, griddle caddy and paper towel holder. Let us know how your first cook goes. So after just over a year with this portable griddle, have any of you changed your score?
    I was blown away by this unit until the 10:15 mark that shows the shelves don't cover the griddle.
    Such a disappointment. Covering the griddle at night while camping is an absolute necessity!
    Thanks for the review guys.

      Whats up Tee Jay?? We totally agree on the cover situation. Matter of fact we agree so much that we have custom built covers for our griddles. 1 from an old steel shelf the other out of sheet metal. After having used it a year we are generally happy with it with 1 exception. When you have it screaming hot, then load it up with food it warps big time. You can still cook on it but we feel it should not warp. WE have 2 new camp chef units and thus far warping has not been an issue. Keep cookin bud! -N

    Thanks for the video. I have the camp chef and I love it. It had some damage when it arrived and camp chef couldn't have been easier to work with. Not only did they make good they gave extra products for the trouble.

    Great video guys ! I owned a Camp Chef FTG 600 non portable, great Griddle with a grill under the griddle,, I now own the Camp Chef FTG 900 6 burner.
    After extensive research the Camp chef is far superior to the Blackstone, however the Blackstone is more Inexpensive but it shows in the quality from a to z!
    Thank you for a great video, you guys are the best !

    I bought the Pro 90X two months ago, love the portability (for RV and home use) along with modular components. This week I've been pressure canning, really enjoy the 30,000 BTU burners. Construction is really great and so far pretty efficient in propane usage. The carry/storage bags are very nice for the stove, bags for grill box and pizza oven make transporting them very easy. I researched different brands, Camp Chef had what I was looking for outdoor kitchen use.

    Great vid guys! Thanks for posting. I have the "regular" camp chef ftg600 and love it. I seasoned it 5 times with flaxseed oil, no problems ever and the griddle came seasoned. One thing you'll want to do is cut out the end cap to the left of the grease drain tube. If you have chunks of food in the angle iron/grease trough it won't go down the tube/hole into the trap. Then you "flick" it out or get a paper towel or ya just pick it out. Cutting wheel on a small grinder will take it off easy. Or maybe a dremel or just a hacksaw. using a hacksaw would suck though. lol Anyway, keep the vid's come'n. Cheers

    Something wrong with that gas flow. You should be getting some blue flames

    I really thought Jeff was going to ride up in a little red tricycle with the white weaved basket in the front, some pink tassels hanging from the handle bars and a baseball card in the spokes or those old school little beads on them, maybe even a soda can between the tire and frame to make it sound like a dirt bike... LOL

      Lol.. Now that definitely would not have supported me and would have been waaaayyy to much effort to get across chris and nates lawn. I would have had to start from 5 feet away to make that work. 😁

    I was happy to see your excitement with the Camp Chef. That is a nice looking unit. I have an older Camp Chef and would like a BS but can't justify the expense when I already have what I need. As soon as I upgrade, someone will come out with something better. I look forward to some videos of your Camp Chef cooks.

    Like everthing but that front drain. I sold my 36” with a front drain and bought a 22” adventure blackstone

    • @mbbrown721
      @mbbrown721 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t like the front drain? I like it. When it’s clogged on me I simply put a toothpick in it and it drains great. Why don’t you like it; curious.

    I'm thinking the Camp Chef is here to stay.

    • @TheGriddleGuys
      @TheGriddleGuys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Obviously we all use blackstone products and they are good but it is nice to see campchef is putting in the effort to compete. Its only been a couple weeks and I can tell you that the quality of the build on this portable griddle is impressive. Nicer welds and quality control all around seems better. That being said its a decent investment and there is still some room for improvement. Stay tuned for some reviews over the next few weeks and months as we continue to test. Ty-J

    Thanks for sharing! I was tossed between what griddle to get and watched a bunch of videos of the Blackstone and Camp Chef, one thing I thought interesting on the CC was that you could manually light each burner....I guess you could the Blackstone also with the gap between the cooking surface....was a cool idea on the CC where they put the little opening beside the burner gas control knob....Cook again soon! Take care! Dave In WV!

    Quick question. Are there any lots or houses available next to you guys? Wish I could have neighbors like you’ll. Great and fun videos!

  • @mnsnowhawk1
    @mnsnowhawk1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Read the manual. The tank needs to be turned on slowly. If it’s turned on too fast the regulator reduces flow. You will find that this griddle gets very hot. Rarely will you ever need to cook higher than medium. Love my ftg600.

    What's up guys!!! I think Blackstone needs to start handing out griddles more especially to guys like you who are growing b/c other brands are noticing it.

    Great unboxing. How was that wind towards the end affecting the flame? That's my biggest gripe about my Blackstone. Seems like it wouldn't have taken much to engineer those end tables to be a lid with the griddle top on. Waiting for a cook test. Keep em coming.

    cool, I would get this one, what was the price...ahhh, I'll check thank for the unboxing, apppreeeeciate it!

  • @mwood65

    When you said a storm is coming I said just wheel it into the garage. No wheels. I could see myself knocking the grease trap off with my hip. Other than that and the price, it'll do the job.

    Cool! Guys a couple things about directions ...
    1. They're for girls. Real men don't use them.
    2. They're just someone else's opinion.

  • @harmoncollege
    @harmoncollege 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm surprised it couldn't get much higher than 500 degrees. I also don't like the front grease...I'm not a fan of pulling hot grease toward myself. The way that watered beaded and rolled off makes it seem like you'd have a tough time cleaning sugary residue off the griddle. I have a 36 inch Blackstone rear grease that gets about 580 degrees, and a 22 inch Blackstone that gets up to about 630 degrees. Thanks for showing something different though.
