I bought some cabochons years ago with portrait art printed on them on a Chinese wholesale jewelry supply site. I used them to make EGL pendants to sell. Last year, I started becoming an artist in earnest and, thus, became more conscious of art theft (previously, I was conscious of stolen fashion designs as a designer). This year, when I looked at my old pendants I made, I thought that the art was far too sophisticated/unique for the site I got them from. So, I did some research and found that the images were from a Japanese artist that I'm certain wouldn't have given them a license to make cheap cabochons with their art. So, I'm super glad that I never sold those pendants! And I never will. I don't even wear them myself!
@@LadyAstarionAncunin That's a great lesson, and a good example for other artists, but realizing what happened when you looked at the art more closely must have felt icky.
when I first learned about NFTs I was so excited cuz I thought it would be a great way for artists to protect their work. but then I learned about its environmental impacts and now this?? the very opposite of what NFTs were meant to do... how people can do this and not feel bad I'll never understand
people are more concerned about their pockets and filling them to the brim rather than the consequences of their actions. they have successfully thrown morals out the window
to be fair, If yall really concerned about the environment, why not look up the impacts of owning devices alone, art materials and using internet. Some really care about environment and bash/hate on nft artists but theyre not that different at all😅 Nft is bad for the environment yes but do they even consider what they also own or consume.
@@MohammedAgbadi all I can empathize with them is that they have their priorities and theyre just trying to make the best out of their life by making the most of their current amount of knowledge even if it costs others/environment. Somebody should create some kind of software that recognizes reposts of an artwork and allows creators decide whether they want it taken down or not. Obviously its easier said than done but I hope someone figures it out.
I hope TH-cam also implements an nft detection feature. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had the balls to start selling videos from animation channels next.
Loish has been a huge inspiration to me for years and a few friends of mine have seen her artwork and said that while I do have my own distinct style, they can see when comparing them side by side how her beautiful work has been able to inspire my own style over the years. She's such a powerful influence on the artistic community at large.
@@brootalstayfree That's why I said most. If you wanted some reference of non anime stuff, especially on DeviantArt, than you likely gravitated to Loish. So many artist were influenced by her that even if you don't know HER, you know or follow people that were. Basically all modern Western toon style have been influenced by Loish a bit. I for one followed her because I like how she did noses.
NFT's are also so spammy. You ever see a pretty good art piece on twitter which turns out to be an NFT, the replies are just links and hashtags. NFT's very much remind me of MLM's, get rich quick schemes, and the "DM us" comments from rando companies. poor loish.
It's funny how cryptobros bragged about how NFT is helping artists or "a form of owning the original artwork digitally" or whatever when half of it are stolen artwork and offers little to no help for the original artist to get their stolen art removed. Almost like it's always been a snake-oil get rich quick scheme
Im pretty sure these thieves are supported by the nft platform, when a well accomplished artist find a thief infringing their art they're forced to enter the platform themselves to make sure to inform everyone deep the real artist is. So now you see the the benifit these nft sites have from the art thieves.
this is a very good point. also does the site make profit im assuming? So I guess the company hosting the nft's would also be making money off of stolen art.
Ever since the NFT shit was announced, I had stopped uploading my own work and went private. It's stressful. I hope Loish and other artists can take these clowns down.
why go private? If you have no intention of selling NFTs attributed to your art, why does it matter if someone gets scammed buying a fake NFT? That person should have done their research and seen that you aren't in the market. The other option is to create the NFT and burn the token so it can never ever be sold again.
"Isn't it funny how shady websites don't have a functional reporting system?" Funny you should mention that. I had to report my art reposted on a clipart site without my permission, and their DMCA system just kept giving me Saved Message errors. I wound up sending the DMCA through their contacts which, ironically worked just fine!
These were the type of issues that made me scared of posting original stories and artwork online. I came around eventually but I still get hesitant when it comes to bigger projects that I want to do (comics, webtoons, graphic novels, etc)
My account is super new on Twitter and I even had a NFT account send me a copy paste message attempting to lure newer or inexperienced artists into getting involved with NFTs with a shady link attached, it’s getting out of hand for sure. Definitely sad to think that people may have fell for their NFT scam bot. /:
there are so many of those now!! once you clink on the link that's it. i saw an account that literally was a bot stealing any image on twitter and converting it to an NFT or something like that. smh
This is why im scared to use online platforms like Instagram My art almost got stolen, thanks to me posting an image i made in a group chat And it got to someone's gallery
This is why I never believed anyone who said "this is great for artists". No. It isn't. It's an environmental nightmare and has had tons of stolen things. Almost everything on there is technically stolen stuff or selling PUBLIC memes and random images off Google. Literally actually free stuff you can download yourself being sold. I like to hope it's an Ebay thing but really there isn't any management in NFTs. If it had proper management like Ebay then this would be a lesser problem but it's not.
The fact art thieves are getting extremely bold and stealing art to make crypto and harming the environment says a lot about the current state of the Internet
Knowing that one of my favourite artists loish have to deal with these stuff is just disturbing, i mean literally, loish is one of the artists that i genuinely see her art and recognise it as hers cuz she has such a unique art style And just for anyone out there who wants to be a great artist *Don't steal something you haven't put your heart and soul in it* . instead. *Make art that speaks through peoples souls and send them ur perspectives and ideas with it* .
I'll never understand artists that sell NFTs. We know this stuff is awful for the environment and art thieves are now more rampant than ever. NFTs don't protect artists, and tbh they're just a big scam.
They probably did their research and realized the "bad for the environment" argument is dumb. Whether the NFT exists or not, the mining will continue. If an NFT is created and you assign a portion of the mining to that NFT, by that logic, all we'd need to do is create billions and billions of NFTs and each one's portion of environmental impact would approach zero. And that's literally the only thing that even approaches being true about NFTs affecting artists. Art theft is definitely the much bigger issue, but as with Loish, if an artist has no intention of selling NFTs of their work, then they're not actually losing income. The intent in reporting the stolen work is to protect their IP because they can and to protect consumers from getting scammed.
I wish there was a way to prevent art-theft and the devs/moderators of art sites would actually do something about it. It is one of the reasons I fear posting my art online because of this.
And people told me that my stance on NFTs was backwards and dumb. But I speak from experience in having art stolen and my friend's art being stolen before NFTs were even an idea!
I didn't think that being a small, mediocre artist ever would make me happy. But this way i am mostly not attractive enough for art-thieves. But here we are and i am releaved. The worst thing happen to me was followers of mine finding parts of my comic on Phone-Cases. But that was about it. I can' t imagine how exhausting it must be for popular and high skilled artists to deal with this shit every day. Those thieves know no i shame. 🤬
While I share your sentiment, I've got some even more unfortunate news about this. Yes, you can share phots and post about the original artist when you see this kind of art theft. But the unfortunate reality is that 90% of the time, when it comes to reporting, unless you are an owner of a work or IP and/or have a lawyer, YOU CAN'T REPORT ON SOMEONE ELSE'S BEHALF. TH-cam has been stopping us for years from doing that.
Yeah, this is one reason why I want nothing to do with NFTs anymore. I did mint ten editions of an NFT on Rarible - of my very first proper digital art piece from 2010 - but of course, that never sold. I’ve since considered burning said NFT, but I don’t want to waste my money on the ridiculous gas fees required to do so. I even recently turned down a illustration job offer from someone who found me on ArtStation, because that job involved NFTs. Sure, it might have made me some money, but I do have principles. On a side note, I am a proud backer of Loish’s newest Kickstarter. 😎
it's so ridiculous that you actually have to spend money minting nfts and it seems if you're not a popular artist or just kinda big in the crypto world, you might end up not making anything
One idea is: If she was in the US and registered her work to get it officially copyrighted with the US Copyright Office, she could sue anyone that steals her work and get $200 to $150,000 for each work infringed upon. Not sure how they settle that in the EU. It would be a headache to register each piece, or at least all of the pieces she cares the most about, but with her fame, registering and having a good lawyer in her back pocket would probably in her best interest in the long run. And it offers more legal protection and perks than just a watermark or suing without registering. Yes, any artist is automatically given copyrights to their piece at the moment of creation, but-if you officially register a piece within three months of publication/creation or before an infringement occurs, you are ALSO entitled to statutory damages and your legal fees. Fun things I learned studying editorial illustration in college where copyrights and contracts are king.
People doing NFTs think you can gain money from selling a digital copy that you can download for free, by just right clicking the image...Why were NFTs even started it just feels like a different word for art theif. I'd rather buy the artist's art print over NFTs.
The NFT art thieves have zero shame. They bully, mock, and harass artists for refusing to make NFTs of their work. They infringe copyright and illegally disperse NFTs without an artists' consent. They have even stolen art for NFTs from artists *who are deceased.* Yes, family members and fans of artists who have passed away have found NFTs of their loved one's artwork being dispersed and profited off of without their consent. (The most notable I can think of is Qinni's artwork, but I think there were others which created less of an angry wave in the art community since Qinni was such a dearly loved artist and was struggling for so long.) They even change their tactics depending on where in the world they are and which market they're in. I've heard that in Japan, they're trying to trick artists into thinking it's a method of passing on rights of the art pieces to their commissioners and that it reduces the risk of art theft by embedding into the token the information about who created and who owns the piece. All lies. All they're doing is exploiting artists worldwide with lies and deception in hopes of making money off of the artists' work.
This has been said since NFTs got popular, besides how unethical the business is to begin with, it encourages art theft and it runs creativity down to the ground cause all these people want to do is make a buck, regardless if they deserved it or not.
It's blatantly stupid how they'd steal and trace over an artist's work for money and still have the guts to ask if the artist wants to work with them after finding out their work is being stolen. 😑
What really sucks with these art thieves, NFT or not, is that you eventually have to have a lawyer to stop all the crap. That's what Jeff Dunham had to do with his art thieves.
Historically, artists have always had to deal with the combination of art thieves, exploitation and new technology threats, all working together seemingly against the interests of the artists. In the end though, artists have had to unwillingly embrace these new technology and use it in direct and indirect ways to battle exploitation and thieves. As an example think about the history of photography and visual artists. I think sooner or later artists have to turn their creativity on tackling how to use NFTs to their benefit to deal with art thieves and earn profit for a living.
I literally saw her artbook in a book store once. It was literally so pretty and soft, I really love it. I just wished I had the money to buy it back then

I know it's still not the best option but that's why I try to leave my handle and signature in a place that you can't just crop out. Obviously people could still just photoshop it out or trace it but you can pretty much do the same with a watermark unless it's over the entire image multiple times.
I actually try and incorporate my watermark into the design, like I write it on the character's shirt that's viewable but it also fits in with the tone.
I've been preaching this since FOREVER. If you are a less known- START DRAWING YOUR SIGNATURE AS PART OF YOUR ART. Make it your characters clothing Part of the bg ANYTHING so if you need proof you can PROVE IT
I have more respect for the kind of art thieves who steal physical art from a physical location and sell it than those who steal art and try to pass it off as their own.
I am pretty sure because of the insane amount of art theft, many scammers are selling the same stolen artwork (they do not own) on multiply platforms, which will have a bunch of scammed ppl who end up owning an nft tied to the same work (that the creator never agreed to ever be sold and so the artist is the sole and rightful owner by law). I hope the whole NFT market collapses as soon as possible.
I had no idea what NFT was/is so I had to read a hecking long article about it, thankfully the way it was redacted was really cool and funny but in the end I could only think “this crap is probably one of the easiest ways to scam ever created” and I mean both creators AND buyers 🤡 now I think I’m prepared to watch this video.
This was happening from the begining. I posted a few when it began, but then some random posted every piece I had in my store and they sold thousands of my art at 480x480, a thumbnail of mine which you know was freaking 4800x4800. They sold thousands of my art as thumbnails only. I didn't sell any, then my store was shut down. @#$& NTFS.
I just had the best idea for a non-stealable gallery of artwork. Have the arts around your watermark have your watermark be a part of the art! Make the main focus of that specific art gallery be on your watermark
I'm not even famous but my art get stolen so often (inside the Undertale and IZ fandom) to be sold or make fake accounts for commissions, even my fancomics for profit, I tried to just get credit but I'm at the point I understood I can't do anything about it and live with it... It sucks
The fear of art thieves is the primary reason I'm having a hard time really wanting to share my artwork. I also have no understanding about NFTs. Why pay for something that doesn't even physically exist? Sounds like a waste of money to me.
I’ve had multiple offers on DeviantArt asking me to draw stuff for their NFTs, and it’s not even like I’m a professional artist, I’m still an amateur. It’s sad watching them try and mooch off of other peoples work.
Maybe artists can set a gofundme to hire a team to manage reporting of thieves and plagiarists? I'm pretty sure a handful of fans will gladly contribute and maybe you can only go for the most blatant/larger thieves or use AI to keep the costs low.
One more reason to hate NFT. I wish all those famous artists who promoted NFTs as the last coke of the desert, would come out and apologize. This might not be as popular without the promotion they gave it.
Some of the top artists who are dealing with this and crowd fund a good lawyer to start sending out emails and letters saying if they don’t take down the stolen art they are going to court, I’m sure even if we start to get 4chan and Reddit involved they could help find them and what not.
Using sites that detect reposts might help out a little... Definitely use watermarks and include Oc's in works to at least scare most thiefs off. Thiefs hate oc characters most at the time, small artists should be left alone like this. We need to find more ways to protect each other...
Loish is one of my favorite artist and part of the reason I started trying to learn digital art in the first place. The idea of someone stealing her art like this infuriates me.
I have heard of arguments from sides on NFTs being good or bad for artist however they help music artists start a career without some kind of producer owning their work and screwing them.
I have an artist group on twitter, and one of them is really good at digital painting. Guess what..his art regularly being steal and sold at opensea too. He just a small artist..so theres nothing he can do about it. Sad truth...
what's horrible is how these people who make NFTs out of other peoples art or make their own super shitty art is that they don't see the issue with it. they have no regards for copyright law and how much money they're making that should've gone to the artist. and not to mention how much emissions are made just processing it...
with this whole situation going on the people who STAN those NFTs are just completely disregarding any legitimate concerns people have and saying "wow you must hate money so much hahaha fine be broke while i get rich"

Every time a new way to fund something you’re passionate about comes online there is an entire community dedicated to exploiting it. Art thieves have always been a problem but when every creative field becomes more and more saturated so does the ease of stealing IP. It’s a shame, she has been an inspiration of mine since digitals been booming but her still releasing a print book to catalog and showcase her work proves that everything reverts back to simpler times and she’s 100% right for keeping strong in that effort. Being both a photographer and illustrator, nothing is better than the feeling of my work being printed. Reaching a global audience should have always been kept at a gallery level.
It's very disappointing how unsafe the art community is becoming with all the art thieves, tracers, impersonators and scammers who are rising every week. It's dangerous, especially for smaller artists like me (by small I mean 200 followers but only 10 are active), when there wouldn't be anyone to stand up for you or notice you when you speak up. Then when it comes to popular artists, they have a good community helping, BUT no matter how many reports, flags, requests for their art to be taken down, nothing is done unless the site themselves work with the community's complaints or if the issue is taken to court. Assuming by 2023 at the very least, the Arts community will become difficult to handle (Artwork, music, lyrics, developers, etc) will have their work stolen at any chance given, and they wouldn't realize until they start getting hate for 'stealing'.
A lot of artists have been able to make good money with NFTs, which is great. I personally don't blame "NFTs" for this stealing thing tho. Art stealing have been an issue for years, even when Digital Art was not a thing. Just because there are some stupid art stealers doesn't mean the concept is wrong, specially for the ones who are doing it in right way. I don't buy or sell NFTs and I have no plans whatsoever for them, but if they help some deserving artists make their life, it will be great. A lot of critics about NFTs I saw are already dropping their NFTs lol, which is good. I am sure this will continue to grow for some years now, and hopefully this environment problem will be solved as well. Good luck to all making NFTs, may you get what you want.

it's gonna change the world, in that way that it'll destroy earth lul
It’s also super bad for the environment
I knew this was going to happen eventually. It’s so easy just to save an image, any image and out it as an NFT before the author has a chance to get their pants on.
as funny as this is, it's true to a T. that's the whole problem with NFTs as people are just using them as a trade of to steal and make a quick buck
Well same is true for social media. My friends art vids got stolen by someone on tiktok. My friend wasn't on tiktok at the time so he didn't realize it was happening. There are always gonna be scumbags who will try to steal from and exploit others.
Instagram doesn't let you right click/hold to save it to your device, but then there's screenshot. I, too save some art that i like in my pc but I would never repost/sell it as my own. I only save it for reference or inspiration whenever I feel burnout.
I guess you have to water mark anything u do, and that still won't be enough
Yep and not only that, the creator/seller of the NFT can delete it anytime after they’ve sold it lol
Anyone remember when a Korean clothing company started printing her art on their T-Shirts. She seemed so stressed.
I have her 1st art book. It’s a cherished item. I hate how everyone is vulnerable to this if they post their art on the internet. I hate that this happens to her all the time. 😢
she's so successful so everyone just bites outta her plate. smh
I've not been following Loish so much but I remember a korean or chinese company trying to profit off of Quinnis art, after her death! That was awfull!
@@Linnzy it is indeed, I remember shal.E made a fan art of a few things like fairy tails natsu and a video game fan art and both started getting sold on bags, clothing and prints without his permission. It must be so stressful
The environmental impact is the biggest misconception out there about the NFT space
@@twinz2008 could you explain or link me some resources? I'd love to learn more :)))
to be fair, If yall really concerned about the environment, why not look up the impacts of owning devices alone, art materials and using internet. Some really care about environment and bash/hate on nft artists but theyre not that different at all😅
Nft is bad for the environment yes but do they even consider what they also own or consume.
@@MohammedAgbadi all I can empathize with them is that they have their priorities and theyre just trying to make the best out of their life by making the most of their current amount of knowledge even if it costs others/environment. If that's the only way that could ahon their way out of their situation or could get what they want ,I can't blame them since they may not even know any better or was just forced to.
Somebody should create some kind of software that recognizes reposts of an artwork and allows creators decide whether they want it taken down or not. Obviously its easier said than done but I hope someone figures it out.
i think that's what deviant art is trying to do with its new features but lets see! someone might!
That'd lead to any company being able to claim any picture like it happens with youtube videos now.
Devil art does that, the only place where I post my art. But I haven’t posted anything in awhile
@@MohammedAgbadi yeah deviantart just implemented something like this
We have apps tracking how many times we fart during the night... it's not THAT easier said than done - that's my point.
I hope TH-cam also implements an nft detection feature. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had the balls to start selling videos from animation channels next.
OMG that's actually possible! that will be so annoying since animators spend weeks working on just one episode! God that will be so annoying!
Loish's style is probably the most influential art style of today. Most people learning right now have likely used her work for reference.
Loish has been a huge inspiration to me for years and a few friends of mine have seen her artwork and said that while I do have my own distinct style, they can see when comparing them side by side how her beautiful work has been able to inspire my own style over the years. She's such a powerful influence on the artistic community at large.
I've never heard of her at all lol
@@brootalstayfree That's why I said most.
If you wanted some reference of non anime stuff, especially on DeviantArt, than you likely gravitated to Loish.
So many artist were influenced by her that even if you don't know HER, you know or follow people that were. Basically all modern Western toon style have been influenced by Loish a bit.
I for one followed her because I like how she did noses.
@@MrSirFluffy bruh my biggest inspirations have been NSFW guys like InCase and Derpixon lol

NFT's are also so spammy. You ever see a pretty good art piece on twitter which turns out to be an NFT, the replies are just links and hashtags. NFT's very much remind me of MLM's, get rich quick schemes, and the "DM us" comments from rando companies. poor loish.
yep! those DM us are so annoying!!
this is MLM - you need to pay money first to put your work at the marketplace
It's funny how cryptobros bragged about how NFT is helping artists or "a form of owning the original artwork digitally" or whatever when half of it are stolen artwork and offers little to no help for the original artist to get their stolen art removed. Almost like it's always been a snake-oil get rich quick scheme
Woke
Im pretty sure these thieves are supported by the nft platform, when a well accomplished artist find a thief infringing their art they're forced to enter the platform themselves to make sure to inform everyone deep the real artist is. So now you see the the benifit these nft sites have from the art thieves.
truueeeeeee!!! this actually makes sense. it's like backward promotion in a way. that's so sneaky man!
this is a very good point. also does the site make profit im assuming? So I guess the company hosting the nft's would also be making money off of stolen art.
The irony is that if she minted her work as NFTs it would be more steal proof since it would be recorded on the blockchain ledger.
@@twinz2008 what would stop someone from ss or right click save as and then minting it?
@@twinz2008 but the thing is she doesn’t want to do it. And she shouldn’t have to be forced to do so.
Ever since the NFT shit was announced, I had stopped uploading my own work and went private. It's stressful. I hope Loish and other artists can take these clowns down.
oh that's sad. hope you get to show more of your art later, this NFT wave seems like it's not going anywhere anytime soon, sadly
why go private? If you have no intention of selling NFTs attributed to your art, why does it matter if someone gets scammed buying a fake NFT? That person should have done their research and seen that you aren't in the market. The other option is to create the NFT and burn the token so it can never ever be sold again.

"Isn't it funny how shady websites don't have a functional reporting system?" Funny you should mention that. I wound up sending the DMCA through their contacts which, ironically worked just fine!
That is one weird twist. Getting attacked by an Art Thief, thee Audacity lol
Btw, dope Hat Mohammed
ayeeeee!! thankyou!!
It happens more often than you might think.
there are so many of those now!! once you clink on the link that's it. i saw an account that literally was a bot stealing any image on twitter and converting it to an NFT or something like that. smh
This is why im scared to use online platforms like Instagram
My art almost got stolen, thanks to me posting an image i made in a group chat
And it got to someone's gallery
I'll be surprised if society is still alright after 50 years from now.
Still alive even
Knowing that one of my favourite artists loish have to deal with these stuff is just disturbing, i mean literally, loish is one of the artists that i genuinely see her art and recognise it as hers cuz she has such a unique art style
And just for anyone out there who wants to be a great artist
*Don't steal something you haven't put your heart and soul in it* .
instead.
*Make art that speaks through peoples souls and send them ur perspectives and ideas with it* .
The fact that reposts accounts do so much better than actual artist accounts
I'll never understand artists that sell NFTs. We know this stuff is awful for the environment and art thieves are now more rampant than ever. NFTs don't protect artists, and tbh they're just a big scam.
and the ones who sell NFTs aren't even artists .
Money, some japanese artists makes about 10k for each drawing they create
It is one of the reasons I fear posting my art online because of this.
it's sad. honestly i fear you'll have to just post your work and be on the look out for situations like this. i wish you all the best!
And people told me that my stance on NFTs was backwards and dumb. But I speak from experience in having art stolen and my friend's art being stolen before NFTs were even an idea!
I'm not even that famous but yet hecking scared of being robbed like that, I'd literally die
Today in "What is wrong with these people" :
Art Thief of a big Internet Artist.... But wait-
With NFTs!
*Shocked audience Gasps*
hahahaha i can already picture the meme in my head!!
delicious
Jeeezzzz! that's just crazy
Copyright is only for the rich and big companies. It's not designed to protect content creators.
Actually youtube allows you to falsely report and get channels strikes if you do it correctly
yeah, I knew this was gonna happened bc of NFTs, it sucks :(
it's so annoying at this point, there's literally nothing artists can do to stop this from happening
@@MohammedAgbadi Tell me about it. Beeple, I am not.

@@MohammedAgbadi Art Thieves: And this... is to go FURTHER BEYOND!!!!
I'd rather buy the artist's art print over NFTs.
i guess they figured out a way to involve art into crypto currencies and have held on to that for long enough smh
NFTs are only bought to be sold for profit. NFT buyers don't care about art.
(The most notable I can think of is Qinni's artwork, but I think there were others which created less of an angry wave in the art community since Qinni was such a dearly loved artist and was struggling for so long.)
They even change their tactics depending on where in the world they are and which market they're in.
Its basically a game at this point, Grand Theft Artist.
I just wish there was an app for artists so they can freely create their portfolio while also someone monitoring and looking for thief to remove
i've had my art stolen before and dude had t he cheek to post himself pretending to draw it himself in a cafe.
Idk why I get a warm fuzzy feeling when Loish is mentioned. I'm old. I remember fangirling Loish's pixel dolls (remember those?) when dA was poppin...
What really sucks with these art thieves, NFT or not, is that you eventually have to have a lawyer to stop all the crap. That's what Jeff Dunham had to do with his art thieves.
I've been a victim of art theft and someone stole my blog so I know exactly how she feels.
remember when the nft cryptodorks said that art theft and security would be LESS of an issue
You are a artist keep up the good work.
Thank you so much 😀
The combination of the internet, and the NFT pyramid scheme, and art community just became the con man's new playground.
I literally saw her artbook in a book store once. It was literally so pretty and soft, I really love it. I just wished I had the money to buy it back then
If the nft does not link back to Loish herself....its automatically worthless. All she has to do is post that she doesnt do NFTs. It is up to the buyer to do their research. Exactly like you do before buying anything. You benefit from nfts due to it being instantly verifiable and the lifetime royalties built into it everytime its sold anywhere. Thats the benefit artists have with nfts.
i think she did that, because now the link is dead and the store is not coming up anynmore
What were they thinking stealing from a popular artist
i bet they thought they could pull off something spectacular!
I know it's still not the best option but that's why I try to leave my handle and signature in a place that you can't just crop out. Obviously people could still just photoshop it out or trace it but you can pretty much do the same with a watermark unless it's over the entire image multiple times.
true. people will literally do anything if they really want to steal an image hahhaa
I actually try and incorporate my watermark into the design, like I write it on the character's shirt that's viewable but it also fits in with the tone.
I've been preaching this since FOREVER.
If you are a less known-
START DRAWING YOUR SIGNATURE AS PART OF YOUR ART.
Make it your characters clothing
Part of the bg
ANYTHING so if you need proof you can PROVE IT
Stuff like this is honestly why I changed my mind of turning art into a career instead of a hobby.
I have more respect for the kind of art thieves who steal physical art from a physical location and sell it than those who steal art and try to pass it off as their own.
😧😧 This is terrible!!! 😔 It’s getting so hard for artists online.
I hope the whole NFT market collapses as soon as possible.
ive encountered many art thieves in facebook and OH MY GOD twitter and other websites has the worst art thieves ive ever seen
I had no idea what NFT was/is so I had to read a hecking long article about it, thankfully the way it was redacted was really cool and funny but in the end I could only think “this crap is probably one of the easiest ways to scam ever created” and I mean both creators AND buyers 🤡
now I think I’m prepared to watch this video.
NFT's sound like Bitcoin. Loish should get legal involved and send them a Cease and desist. A lawsuit would wake them up.
Bitcoin is far better than nfts haha
This was happening from the begining. I posted a few when it began, but then some random posted every piece I had in my store and they sold thousands of my art at 480x480, a thumbnail of mine which you know was freaking 4800x4800. They sold thousands of my art as thumbnails only. I didn't sell any, then my store was shut down. @#$& NTFS.
my gosh your title stopped my heart for a minute, Loish inspired me so much
I just had the best idea for a non-stealable gallery of artwork.
Or just ask their fans to be on the lookout for stolen art, I’m sure there will be enough crazy ones that will do it.
Love this channel 💯💯💯💯💯
thankyou!
Glad you enjoy it!
Even as a new artist this could be scary because what can you even do? Without any resources its overwhelming!

I have heard of arguments from sides on NFTs being good or bad for artist however they help music artists start a career without some kind of producer owning their work and screwing them.

what's horrible is how these people who make NFTs out of other peoples art or make their own super shitty art is that they don't see the issue with it. they have no regards for copyright law and how much money they're making that should've gone to the artist. and not to mention how much emissions are made just processing it...
with this whole situation going on the people who STAN those NFTs are just completely disregarding any legitimate concerns people have and saying "wow you must hate money so much hahaha fine be broke while i get rich"
most of them really have no regard for artists or art and just want to make money, or flip their cryptocurrencies.

Knowing all the art theft going on i doubt I will ever post my art online.
Good luck to all making NFTs, may you get what you want.
they're not just stealing her art, but they make it into climate destroying NFT'S?!?! Like... what?! God I hope NFT's and Crypto crashes for good soon cause all this online coin shit makes me age faster
the internet is so full of scams and thieves it's getting annoying. When people used napster and forums to exchange movies and music the governments and lawyers took action, when it's normal people who are getting stolen and scammed like this it seems that there is no big interest on following and punishing these thieves, every day we see more and more of them
I'm surprised the platform isn't being sued and or investigated for this is q crime selling other people's work.
NFTs shouldn't exist. It's hurting a lot of artists and (probably) the environment.
Yep and I’m pretty sure it’s easy to scam using it too
I never knew this happens. Thanks for this.
Currently working my way through your old videos, great content 👌 I am wondering now, a year later, how much ai art will become NFTs, all made up from stolen art
This is why I stopped uploading my artwork and got such intense burn-out and depression from battling art thievery that, 4 years later, I'm just now feeling the slightest inclination to return to art. But I'm sticking with traditional. While my heart belongs to digital art, it had been broken on the internet way too many times to he worth continuing.
I feel so much sympathy for this entire situation:(
