ethan, ma man, i love your videos, the humor you put in em, the easy to digest information, the NEVER DO THIS, NEVER DO THAT thing i've noticed that you put a lot of emphasis on structure using shapes, but i've always got the vibe that you're focusing more on shapes than structure, and in the end, shapes are a way to describe structure, and that's what pros do through your videos i learned that if the hand turns this way, it makes this shape, but if i were to know the simple structure of the hand, i can mix that in with the simple shape and now i've got a legit structural hand that looks dynamic one other thing is that when you say to NEVER DRAW THIS, or NEVER DO IT LIKE THIS, most of the times after beginners watch your video and go draw, they'll run into so many things that might be categorized under that umbrella, but you never made it clear to them, and since they're beginners, they put almost all their trust in you "the funny chaotic neutral art father that gives us our easy to digest pro information" and they'll follow you no matter what i say this because i ran into that problem not too long ago, because of the reference video, if someone had to really understand what you wanted them to not do, they had to listen to every single word you said and try to piece everything together so they can understand when to use reference and when you're free to just draw, i had so much stress drawing after i watched that video cuz i did a drawing or to that i dared not to use reference for please, ethan, be clear with what you want to say, you've got a huge responsibility as a trusted figure and for some, rolemodel

I love hands because they are very important to us. So when they're detailed in characters then it means that the artist knows how to use them to state personality and uniqueness.

Ethan, you are very awesome. You telling people to draw their favorite artist's art their way is a big sigh on a lot of beginner artists like me. In fact you make a lot of artist want to draw your art in their own way, too, just by telling people to follow the rules in your videos. Your rules aren't to be followed because, it is the true way to do art, it is to be followed when people have the passion to be the artists that they like and want to be. You give a professional side of art to a huge crowd that hardly know what is like to be a professional artist and you tell the struggles as if there were many dog attackers before you that had been in the struggle to know how to be in the professional art business. (very bad pun. XP) Each video you make is one big lesson while the lessons inside of the lessons are the add-on lessons for people choosing to gain extra in being a better artist. I hardly see that other TH-cam artists. Unlike you, you make us feel like we are in the professional ground but, without the pressure of being in a professional business. I really like that very much that I feel like professionals of any business background should be free to teach what it is like to be a professional, too.
