    Good video. I found the part about dipping your fingers into the oil on your other hand and working it through with the fingers helpful as I wasn't applying oil that way before and was always wondering if it was getting to the skin properly. Tried it with the bottle of oil I got from you there and the results were much better! I'm looking forward to your new butter getting released, will have to try that out also!

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately there's no magic formula for beard growth...time and patience are huge. The fact that you're only 19 is great. That means your beard will almost definitely become fuller in your twenties and thirties. That was my experience...my mid/late twenties beard was so much better than my beard at 19. It will come so just keep looking after it well 👊

  • @thenightmare92
    @thenightmare92 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My beard is probably a smidge bigger then his, & I sort of do the same thing. after a shower I apply a whole droppers worth, then just mix it with my hands then apply it with both hands instead of dipping my fingers for saving time sake. & before I go to bed, I’ll apply my beard balm so when I wake up, I’ll still have that smooth & soft beard, & it’s a lot easier to brush the beard in the morning with the remaining balm in it so it’s not tugging or pulling on my beard with the brush.

    Awesome beard my friend. I’m just thinking why not just use the beard balm which is in liquid form. Put some of it on the brush and use it like that..
    Wouldn’t it do the same thing without getting your hands full of oil?

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! The key to beard oil is to get it onto the skin under your beard. Beard oil is primarily for the skin and then the beard hair. Too many guys make the mistake of only putting it on the beard hair. The brush is great for spreading the oil but not applying it. Hope this helps! 😁🙌

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If your beard is short, use the soft side. If it's medium/long or over an inch, i would use the hard side. The aim is to be able to get to the skin under the beard as much as possible, especially when it's short 👍

    I have been reading that it’s best to apply beard oil on a damp beard, how well dose using beard oil on a damp beard vs applying it to a dry beard work? I have been using beard oil well my beard is damp out of the shower or I get my beard wet with a spray bottle until damp them apply beard oil. What is your opinion?

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I always apply beard oil after I wash my beard. I towel dry it and then apply the beard oil. I never put beard oil on a dry beard as I only apply it on a clean beard. It works well, absorbs nicely, and you feel great with a fresh beard 👌

      Thanks for watching! I would only put balm on first if I wanted more hold followed by a shine on my beard with the oil after. That's the good thing about balm first...it holds everything in place better but I disagree that it hydrates the skin and hair more than oil

      Colin, is there a reason why you don’t offer separate beard wash and beard conditioning products? Also, one of your videos describes washing your beard every day with beard soap. In many other beard grooming videos, they strongly advise AGAINST washing your beard every day. They recommend washing one’s beard only once or twice weekly. Colin, I greatly enjoy watching your videos; and your beard and shaved head are very similar to mine. May I suggest video specifically dedicated to beard washing and conditioning would be welcomed by your bearded audience. Please keep up the good work you are doing! 😉

      @Ken Kraus I wash my beard with beard soap and use my beard butter once I'm out of the shower to condition and soften it. Ingredients are key to a good beard product, so stay away from any washes with sodium laureate sulfate in them, and parfum and denatured alcohol in oils, balms etc

      Hi Josh, thanks for your comment! We use Argan oil and Golden Jojoba oil as the main oils in our beard oil. Argan oil comes from the nut of the Argan tree. It has rarely been reported to cause allergic reactions but it would be best to not use it to be safe and sure

      I would leave it grow for a month without cutting it and then go to a beard barber (who you trust and is good with beards) to just trim and shape it just a little. By giving your beard this time to grow you should be able to straighten those hairs when they are a little longer. If not then embrace what you have...we all have little kinks in our beards that we struggle to tame! Thanks for your comment...really appreciate it 👌🏼

    • @westcorkbeardcompany
      @westcorkbeardcompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you get it out with the back of your nail and rub it between the palms of your hands then that's all you need. Getting out the hairdryer everytime you want to use your balm isn't ideal. The type of balm you use should melt fairly easily and not be like glue. If it's like glue then there is too much wax in it. Also heating the balm after it's on the beard is not what you want...to set it quicker it needs to cool. Once cooled give it another quick brush and you're done 👍
