  • Kawan Rusa is a direct translation from Bahasa that means “dear friend.” The name denotes the meaning of a term that is often used by Platycerium lovers described as Staghorn Pal.
    We are located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and proudly managed by a bunch of passionate growers who love to grow Platycerium. Kawan Rusa is a plant studio dedicated to a plant people playground that focuses on knowledge sharing and the love of growing epiphytes plants among the plant community.
    Other than sharing the experience and knowledge of growing plants. We also occasionally conduct some Plant related experiences workshops by collaborating with Plant lovers from our local plant community. We believe through all the events and workshops, we can disseminate knowledge and the love of gardening by creating more awareness among urban city people that gardening can be fun and easy.

    Very nice colelction. For Platycerium bifurcatum how many LUX is ideal for it to grow indoor? I have one that's not doing very well :(

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! usually I will make sure the Lux is around 6-8000 for most of my platycerium plant.

    Wow! Is there a reason why you grow specific strains only indoors/outdoors?

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Some of them are delicate because the platyceirum fronds have thick and white "Trichome". Growing them indoors prevents them flush out by the rainwater and volatile temperature here in Malaysia. Indoor has a more controlled environment, in the sense that the fluctuations of temp and condition are stabilized.

    Hi, for platycerium you grow outdoor (for example ridleyii), do you also grow them on moss dome ? if yes, how do you control water since as it rains heavily everyday ? and what are the solution recommended for fungal & bacteria infection ?

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello!! If I grow my Ridleyi in Moss, I will avoid growing them in full sun conditions (Malaysia Condition). The rainy season might kill the plant and cause the rhizome to rot. Make sure to grow it in a bright area with good airflow and shaded with something. I grow the rest of them, especially water-loving ones, with a medium that's chunky type in the medium core, and wrapped in moss to preserve the moisture.

    may i know which fungicide & seaweed solution you used ? For watering, how long do you usually submerge them into water ?

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can check out the product I used in the descriptions box. Also, I submerged them till the air bubble was gone.

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I got mine mostly from China and the factory has no brand but only OEM to certain brands for the oversea company. The grow light is 35KW and comes with an E27 socket.

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! We've shifted our studio to combine together with That Plant Doctor Warehouse which we operate from 8am -5pm. The bill is close to RM850-950 per month.
      The Growlight is an LED light, and the consumption of electricity is not as intensive as you think. We have close to 50++ grow lights and Terrarium grow lights too. =)
