      Thank you! I've got a heavier haul coming up later this week. I'm going to do my best to film it and post it. So far it's been a great truck!

    Great video I’m thinking about getting a gas burner also but with a cold air intake, one thing I wish that the hood scoop was functional for the cold air intake like on the diesels

    • @JamesonsTractor

      Thank you! I wish the scoop was functional as well. I'll probably do some mods as well on mine, but will likely wait until it's out of warranty so I don't void anything!

    • @Intwodeep902

      @@JamesonsTractor I understand completely about the warranty. I think a cold air intake does not avoid the warranty but if you happen to get a cold air intake and know how to modify the hood scoop to be functional, please let me know. I know it will give it more horsepower and torque not as much as a diesel, but a little more for what you and I pull.

      @@Intwodeep902 It may not void the warranty. I'm typically cautious about those things - never want to give them any extra ammo to deny a claim. If I end up doing any other mods down the road i'll be sure to post them!

    Nice trailer. Where did you purchase the trailer? I’m looking for a trailer that size. I’m in west Tennessee

      I bought this from Triune Trailer Sales, which is in Triune, TN (just south of Nashville). They're great to deal with!

    I have to know. Was that passenger seat all the way back with the car seat behind it??

    • @JamesonsTractor

      I think it had a little more room to go back in this video, but pretty close! It has plenty of rear seat legroom in my opinion.

    Thanks for making this video! What do you get for gas mileage with this truck when you are unloaded?

    • @JamesonsTractor

      Hey Jeremy - unloaded I've been getting 13-15mpg. 2 things to consider with that: 1. The truck is still very low miles (3600 at the moment) and the MPGs may get a little better as the motor breaks in; 2. We're in the cold months and I'll typically let the truck warm up for 5-10 minutes if it's in the 30's or colder, which is definitely impacted the MPGs. I'm not sure if it's going to get a ton better, but I think it may get a little better coming up. Also, I haven't done a trip where I use an entire tank on the highway. It's always been mixed driving so far.

    Did you swap out the high beam for LED's and if so, what brand and model number. I have the low beams switched out on my 2024 Chevy 2500 HD LT already.

    • @JamesonsTractor

      I did. I follow a forum and found out that I could order the same bulbs for high/low beam. The low beams have a deflector in front of them. I got the Lasfit H11s and so far have been happy with them: www.amazon.com/dp/B087QFSQC2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

    The Silverado HD Customs I’ve seen have the 20” wheels. Did you swap the 20”’s for 18”’s or did it come with the 18”’s? If so, was it an option to get the 18’s? Didn’t see 18’s on Chevy Build and Price. Thanks!

    • @JamesonsTractor

      Great question. The dealership I bought it from had installed a more expensive wheel/tire on the truck to try and sell it (and of course raised the price). When I looked at the truck, I told them it was similar to what I wanted, but I wasn't interested in spending more money for wheels and tires. They offered to convert back to a factory wheel set, and this is what they had available to put on it. I liked the way this looked and like the extra meat on the tires so I went with it.

    And isn't it the case that interstate commercial towing without a CDL allows a maximum trailer GVWR of 10,000 pounds?

    • @JamesonsTractor

      It's tricky, but the answer is no *IF* the GVWR of the tow vehicle is under 26,001lbs, the GCWR of the truck and trailer is under 26,001lbs, the tow vehicle is not designed to carry 16 people or more, the tow vehicle is not a school bus, and you're not transporting hazardous materials. You would need a CDL of some variant if any of those categories listed were answered differently. There is a flow chart at the bottom of this article that really helps: cdltestprep.com/FREE-CDL-Info/Tennessee-TN-CDL-Classifications-Endorsements-Restrictions

    • @coolftp

      Thanks! I had read a lot about this before and thought I understood everything, but I didn't know this trick.
      So, if it is as you say, then: as long as the GCWR does not exceed 26K and the GVWR of the truck does not exceed 10K (9,900 in Canada, 4,500 kg to be precise), you are not subject to the inspections and requirements of the CDL license and you can tow a trailer with a GVWR greater than 10K(? )
      And if your vehicle's GVWR exceeds 10K, you must have commercial insurance, tags, medical examination, and without a CDL license, you cannot tow a trailer with a GVWR greater than 10K, right?@@JamesonsTractor

    • @JamesonsTractor

      @@coolftp So in the states, the tow vehicle can actually have a GVWR of greater than 10,000lbs, as long as the combined GCWR is 26,000 or less (so you could have a tow vehicle with a 12,000lb GVWR and a trailer with a 14,000lb GVWR and still be under CDL). I wanted to have the highest trailer rating possible, so I got a truck with a derated GVWR (because my truck is 10,000lb GVWR, my trailer can have a 16,000lb GVWR and I'm still good). Also, all that other stuff I mentioned in the first comment still applies (hazmat, school bus, etc).

    • @coolftp

      OK, thank you very much for the clarification. I will pass these tips on to my friend who is a driver and who, like me, misunderstood the regulations and started looking for a lightly used Titan XD, thinking that he couldn't transport wood in a trailer with a GVW of more than 10K anyway. I think that the 10+16 combination - like yours - is then the most effective. Thanks again :-)@@JamesonsTractor
