A sewing video (series) for the trench would be so great. I‘ve sewn several jackets and a coat so far. But it remains an adventure to start with the trench 😅 You have such a clean way of describing things!
that would be so great, it is just time that is the problem - trying to run the business and produce the content is a big juggle, but you never know one day I might get there! Thanks for watching and commenting
I appreciate your research and it's a great video. I noticed many of our stores in Canada doing an all-neutral palette (even for children) which personally bores me senseless, but I do appreciate the idea behind it. I think it may be a reflection of uncertain times so everyone is playing it safe. I also think the tailoring trend is to counter the three years we've all spent in our Pjs and sweat pants.
I'm loving the pretty, feminine blouses as well as the shirts. Since I have a couple pieces of nice fabric in my stash I really need to get busy sewing! Thanks, Lucy for the inspiration!
Great vido Lucy! Can I just add a word of caution regarding M8149, the denim skirt. The front pockets are very very scooped. I found that they didn't sit at all well when I made this as they gaped. You can see this on the pattern envelope - the view C. I had to sew the pockets up to overcome this. I absolutely hate gaping pockets. If I made it again I would alter them so that they were less scooped and more like the shallow scoop pockets on all my jean which always sit flat.
hahaha well number one I LOVED stranger things and number two one of my friends bought me the card for my birthday because they thought my Husband looks like Steve! I did think Steve was very handsome so that's a good thing I guess?!
Hi, I have made Butterick 6856 twice now and had issues with the collar both times. The collar stand seems to be too small for the neck edge of the blouse. I suggest cutting out the collar stand a size bigger. I do like the blouse and I am currently wearing one, but it doesn’t seem to fit properly around the neck, being too small, and I don’t have a fat neck. Kate

Super, thanks Lucy. 😊
it's a pleasure
You do the best videos. Thank you for tying trends, patterns and fabric choices so style is not so intimidating.
Thank you so much, it's a pleasure, I'm glad it helps
Love the flowy blouses and now tailored shirts. I hope to make a tailored suit or (two ;) )
I made the Liesel Geneva blouse in a viscose twill. I really love how it fits & drapes. For the long sleeve version, I gathered the wrist in elastic.
Ooooh sounds lovely, it really looks like such a great pattern

Thanks to you I made this Simplicity shirt in light blue and now I’ve purchased white cotton to make it in white. Thank you ❤
This was a great and inspiring video! I’m about to make the wide leg Mitchell trousers from Closet Core.

Is it epaulettes? That what they call the ones on the shoulders.
that's the one!
Love the patterns and fabric pairings. So many options, so little time to sew!
Agreed! I always get so excited when I make these videos and never have enough time to make it all
The red dress on the thumbnail, does anyone know where it's from?
