In this video men's style and grooming expert, Aaron Marino of Alpha M and www.iamalpham.com, talks about being a short man in today's world. He also talks about how to dress in-order to look taller and how to dress to maximize your height. There are some key elements and strategies that short men or man of modest height can execute to make themselves look taller and appear taller. Remember that when a confident man walks in the room it doesn't matter his height.
Aaron Marino of alpha m. is a man who happens to be short at 5 ft 6 in. He is deemed 'short' by societal standards. He catches comments on TH-cam surrounding his height which makes him ponder why people are fixated on such an arbitrary topic. Alpha doesn't think his height is a big deal as he doesn't contemplate his height and doesn't identify himself with his height.
Alpha's heart is broken when people are concerned about their height when asking for hair style or hair product information. These men are addressing height as if it's a flaw or deficiency, and some allow height to define them which affects their confidence and self-worth. Height is a minor detail (not a handicap), but society makes us feel super insecure if we don't fit into a certain mold. This same media makes stupid people famous!
Being short is not the reason you haven't achieved your goals; however, there is some truth about short men having to prove themselves and having to work harder than the taller counterpart. BUT there is always a person or group that is prejudice about some factor whether skin color, weight, hair color, ethnicity, etc.
It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, what you look like- one of the greatest things about humans is that we are all different. So many men, however, allow height to affect confidence and self-esteem. Your height doesn't dictate who you are, doesn't define you as a man, and doesn't limit your possibilities. You decide what you are capable of!
Alpha realizes there are a lot of men of the 'modest stature' and may be wondering about what clothing types and styles are the best for the short man. Being a short man, shopping presents challenges. Typically, Alpha makes videos for the general population so everyone can extract something. I am 5'7 and it has never been an issue when getting ladies. I have had more girls than most of my friends who are taller than me. Confidence is the key winner.

First of all, you need to let go of that depiction of yourself of being short. You need to change your whole mentality first before you can focus on how to attract a girl. Once your CONFIDENCE is set, you must go out there and just be yourself. Never talk about your height because that will show insecurity and that is a major turn off for females. My uncle is 5'5 and he has been with MANY MANY women...too many haha and very good looking. His current wife is 14 years younger than him and she is hot. Anyways, his personality is off the roof and has a lot of charisma. You must work on that too. Ill state once again, CONFIDENCE IS key! GO WORKOUT, work on your appearance and that will always benefit you in positive ways:)

I don't mind being 5'4. It makes me feel unique in a way that im different from everyone else. I rather be a guy that stands out from the rest of the crowd than be blended in into other peoples perspective on how people should be. It makes me feel extremely proud for myself knowing that I live by my own expectations rather than how others depict it.

I'm 5'3" and I don't care for being short. I couldn't care less if virtually every woman I meet makes a big deal out of it or if my coaches push me to the back of the line because of it. I'm an alpha male, period. I'm a superb athlete. I practice judo, Muay Thai, and wrestling. In the gym, I kick the ass of any who I spar with. At 5'3" and 175, I spar with tall guys and kick their asses. I surpass them in kicking, punching, and wrestling technique. The problem ... my coaches don't like it. Just last week I sparred with a 210 heavyweight and left him limping at the end of the match. Whenever I outperform taller guys, my coach just removes me from the activity. He actually oppresses me a lot. Being short does not mean being inferior. We can still rock. Don't let people put you into an inferior category because of it. Don't ever be afraid to excel, regardless of what people think or say. A lot of people say I'm trying to overcompensate for something. That is the biggest bullshit I have ever heard. I'm just striving to be good at things, just like everyone else. We are expected to be meek and submit. F***k that. Short people rule.

AmaZN97 I'm been strength training and exercising since I was 12. I'm as fit as can be. I run at minimum 3 miles a day. I can run as much as 7 miles daily without injury. I deadlift 410 lbs. I bench 245 lbs. I squat 350 lbs. People describe me as muscular, not fat. If you exercised, you would understand how inaccurate B.M.I. is. According to you, I should be what, 125 lbs. I might weight that much if I were a scrawny short good. Educate yourself dude. If you take a look at my profile picture, you see there's nothing fat about me.

I'm 5'5 too brother. It's really all about the energy you bring with you, have presence, confidence helps. I've encounters assholes of all kind, some poke at my height to be dominant over me, in social situations. I have to much of a dominant personality to ever let that happened though. I am a, Leo... I've also worked on myself for years, after high school. I Joined the military and got jacked. I'm not saying do that. But just like women, men sometimes have to fluff their feathers to get noticed.

i'm from England , i'm 5'8 and it is considered a little short, 5'9/10 is normal height, average, neither short or tall, 5'11 is tallish( a little tall) and 6'0+ up is tall here. at 5'8 I wouldn't be known as the short guy as say a 5'4 guy , but in conversation or when height is brought up i'm referred to as a little short or little bit short by others

I'm a 5'4'' man and I've generally had girlfriends who were taller than me and it's never bothered either of us and yes, height doesn't matter when you're both lying down. Be confident, friendly and comfortable with yourself. It goes a long, long way.

I just wish it was discussed more, y'know? It's considered completely unacceptable to make fun of people of color and those who are overweight, but short guys have no leverage. No support. Hell, most people don't even think height discrimination *exists* because it's so subtley engrained within our society.

Hazy, I'm publishing a book that analyzes society's height bias. It's unfortunate achievements of undersized guys who've done amazing things aren't known by most. Sure people know about a few athletes, but how about the fact the most decorated war hero of this country (Audie Murphy) was 5'5" and rejected multiple times from joining the military? The first astronaut to go on multiple missions was also 5'5" (NASA's Gus Grissom). Facebook CEO/Founder Mark Zuckerberg is 5'7"...the list goes on. I provide a few talking points similar to Alpha M, plus others. Everyone has a different mindset when it comes to height. It is all about perspective and easier said than done when it comes to confidence! Not everyone has a TV face or charisma that goes for days. Hazy that's because "normal" height varies everywhere, in here a man could fit right in even if they're 168 cm, it's not genetics tho, it's nutrition and or or diet, a teacher could be 165 cm while the student is 175, most Asian countries are prob the same.

I work out, it has paid off well, but still... I would give an inch or two for a thicker, more athletic upper body look. From my experience, it only matters when initially meeting people. They look at you and notice your height. You can't blame them, since that't all they can go off of. But if you can get past that barrier by being confident, funny, etc., it really doesn't matter anymore, and they will remember you for your personality instead.

I'm 5' 8" and had a complex about it until I started working out regularly. I have a friend who is 6'7" and challenged me to a wrestling match because of my "muscles". He wanted to prove that height rules. I pinned his ass in less than 90 seconds. If you lack confidence because of height, work out. Its easier to look more muscular when you're shorter.
Back in middle school, I had a friend of Scandinavian descent, who was around 6" (and not just tall, but broad and stocky) and I was around 5" 3" and stocky, at the time. We'd occasionally wrestle and I could beat him, though sometimes he would beat me.

Why are you claiming that your height will destroy your opportunity to date women, NO!!!, your attitude, your negative outlook is what eliminate your chance to have girlfriend. There is ONE THING if I tell you, you would not be so sad about your height. Society consider 6ft men are those who have ideal height, they score 10 out of 10. And 6ft = 72 inches. If you are about 5'4 to 5'6 you still even score 9 out of 10. ( 64-66 inches/ 72 inches ). Why being so sad, go lifting weights, wear heels, choose suitable haircut, find some short role models and you would not look bad or feel bad. You can say what you want, but *many* women disqualify a guy simply due to being short. Not all, but many. And I'm not saying this because that's what I think is right, but I'm saying that because that's just how it is. I'm 20 years old with a 5"3 height. At first in my high school years it really did bother me but now that I'm in college I taught myself to improve my confidence. Even though I can be the shortest guy in a class or room I stand out by my looks, I wear cologne, have a fashion sense and I'm always complemented by girls about my looks. The funny thing is I also wear hoop earrings and rings lmfaoo. I'm starting my own fashion clothing soon and honestly I'm proud of who I am.
WORD OF ADVICE TO SHORT GUYS: if you're having difficulties finding a right size or you like a type of clothing buy it and go to a Taylor shop to make it your fit. There's always a way and stay away from blonde chicks, they're too tall lol

Thanks for this video man. I'm 38 y.o and im 5'6 and i already came to a point of not giving a damn about my height. I had girlfriends before whose height is almost 5'11. Comparing my situation and the things i achieve so far to a lot of tall men, i can confidently say that im in a better situation than them and the height thing didn't have any significance in my achievements. Once you learn and accept who you are, then you can start living the life you really wanted.
Being a guy in Norway with the height of 5'7 or below is depressing. Most ethnic girls are about 5'9. Bruh I don’t know why I’m here. I’m 6’4. I’ll let y’all smaller guys out there know that it sucks being this tall sometimes. It’s hard to find pants and shoes that fit. Usually tall people like myself have bigger feet and longer legs. So you usually have to find one thing that works and you have to stick with it. You cannot fit into sports cars or backseats easily either. Plane rides suck. It’s almost impossible. You also hit your head on everything possible. And not every tall person can play basketball. 😂 smaller guys can fit into more shoes and clothes and are usually closer to their girls height and can find that it’s easy to do simple things like kiss. Also, the shorter you are the more muscular you can look if you’re working out a lot. Girls love muscular guys. Keep that in mind. Respect to you guys out there. 💯💯💯

As much as I would like to downplay the significance of height, I understand where the shorter people dissatisfied with theirs are coming from. I was 5'6 until around the time I turned 18. About 8 months ago, I shot up just over three inches to my current height of a little over 5'9. Genetics play a significant role, but I am now taller than my dad, which I never believed would happen. I stand with excellent posture and tend to wear shoes that have a bit of a heel (not those high-heels-for-men things though. Please don't subject yourself to the indignity of being caught wearing those). I easily pass for someone who is 5'10+. I won't lie and say that people don't treat me different now, but honestly, I REALLY BELIEVE that this is due, more than anything, to the change in the manner by which I carry myself, which I now believe is the most important factor in how people will regard you. It is harder to be alpha when you're one of the shortest guys in the room, but if you are left with the choice of the path of difficult success vs. the path of rejection and denial, please fucking choose the path of difficult success. In truth, in the long run, it is much less difficult than the path of rejection and denial. Stand up for yourself. Make your voice heard. You have valuable thoughts and ideas. Don't let people walk all over you and dismiss you as I did when I was in your shoes. TAKE CHARGE. Don't ask for it, TAKE IT. I know people shorter than me that own successful businesses. I know people shorter than me with really attractive girlfriends. Without being arrogant, if you treat yourself like a boss, others will too. I still sometimes feel short compared to people over 6 ft, but height has grown to be less of a concern to me, and it is LIBERATING. Just figured I would share my experience. I am 5 ft5 165cm and I am lean and fit. I have had many pretty women hit on me. After I have started hanging out with one for a while they would tell me the very first time they laid eyes on me, the confidence that I projected was amazing. One girl told me while she was at this bar and I walked in, she said I just stood there looking around and had this look like "what girl am I going to take home". So the answer is confidence. Another girl one time told my friend when I walked by was " Who was THAT guy?" And finally most people think I am either military, cop,etc, it's just how I carry myself. And yes, taller women ask me out as well. I have taller friends who suck with women. My advice is, don't give a shit about women. Pick a hobby and become excellent at it and the women will detect that you have something good for yourself going on.

Then I came to realise that men shorter than me wish they were my height and men my height wish they were taller vice versa. In all honesty just be happy for what you have as some don’t have it

I am extremely depressed for so many years now about my height. It basically destroyed and still affects my life. Believe me when I tell you I did SO much research on this. There will not be anything new, the only thing available is Cosmetic Limb Lengthening which is a controversial surgery. NOTHING else works, TRUST ME. I was going to do that surgery last year but backed out... I couldn't do it :(

I'm the same just a half inch more lol, Don't worry we will probably grow. Men grow until their 23, so an extra inch or 2 shouldn't be hard for our bodies to reach. Besides its better to focus on the positive in life than the negative and then soon as you know it you'll be there.

Being short hasn't really negatively affected me. In middle school/elementary, I guess I was made fun of, and there were some athletic challanges in high school, but I find it makes less and less of a difference over time. Most 24 year olds can't fight, run a marathon, or lift substantially more than their own bodyweight - and the reason this "tactically sized" 5'4" guy can is because he trains most every day with intensity. I let my height come up in conversation as a topic but it's neither good or bad - it's just an option, like discussing what restaurants people do or don't like.
BONUS: Since I am the average height of women, I find they feel more comfortable around me. Like, since I'm confident they still feel "safe" and all that, but I'm their size so it's not intimidating.

I'm a 21 year old 5'3 tall man here. I'm 6/7 inches below the average height for a man in my country (Scotland). I'm on the 2nd percentile for height, which means that 98/99 men out of a 100 are taller than me.
Although it used to be something which made me feel really insecure when is was in my early teens, it's something which doesn't bother me at all now. In fact I feel happy and comfortable with my height and wouldn't change it if I had the choice. For guys that feel insecure about their height, I say that everyone has a niche that they fit into, and I fit into the short man niche, it makes me distinctive and people often tell me that I'm cute.
