@ZONEofTECH the "magnetic suction" is an electro-permanent magnet. It's a piece of naturally magnetic material wrapped in wire. By sending an electric pulse through the wire, the natural magnet can be turned on and off. A small amount of electricity would be used only when attaching/removing the Joy-cons.
I am confused on how people are going to press the "second trigger"? Have you not seen how awkwardly placed it is. It is clearly a button to release the joycons. (also why would they force people to go through all that effort just to disconnect a controller. If you want a easy to use design, you don't put extra steps in place)
The "side rails" on the Switch 2 are leaked to be Electro Magnetic and they just slot into the side of the console, they won't slide down like they do the Switch.

The bigger detach buttons is probably because the joycons use a latch system, being held together by a mix of magnets and latch clips. The OG Switch’s tiny spring loaded button probably didn’t work well with a more complicated attachment system.
True. If it were triggers for gameplay purposes, they would've designed it in a way that you won't have to reach out with your index fingers to press it. Back triggers in other current gen are easier to position your fingers on.

I quite like the Switch console but I still frequently use my 3DS. It's probably a nostalgia thing but that thing still just feels really nice to use compared to the switch. Then I started wondering what if Nintendo made a console which was a hybrid of the two... a foldable console, this time with a giant edge-to-edge upper screen and a smaller touch screen at the bottom with buttons either side. While some may question the need for two screens, in some games like Mario Kart it was nice having the map on the lower screen than taking up space on the playing screen. On the joycons it’s the number of players led light but it would be awesome if it was a battery indicator and the “weird” connection on the joycon would be the charging port
there is no way they are releasing the switch 2 in 1 month they havent even officially announced it. I do agree that they can announce it in 2024 and if they're gonna announce it it better be early November for a Spring 2025 release or a Summer Release or in worst case and most likely and logical, a November/December 2025 release. Since we are barely getting leaks with their prototypes and 3d prints of the models, its best to say that the console is on early development. They don't even have the marketing ready or any games to compliment its release.
but ummm the normal nintendo and nintendo switch oled play at 720p on handheld not 1080p, well i dont think its certain that the switch 2 will be 1080p handheld but if it is then it would be much better looking than the switch 1 (PPI of switch 1 is 209 while switch 2 would be 275 if it is at 1080p), all i care about is if the new console doesnt have massive bezels like the normal nintendo switch does
part of me wishes you are wrong and part of me wishes you are right. The wrong side is because I just bought a switch oled, the right side because a switch with better specs means 60FPS gaming which would be sweet especially if they can extend that to the current gen games.

They are very cheap on the used market (around $100) now so you can always just buy one and see how you like it, if not sell it and you don't lose anything. You can always sell it on the release of the switch 2 however you would probably lose like $30 which id say isn't too bad.
Obviously just a bigger release button, not even up for debate. That would be extremely uncomfortable to use as a trigger, and why the hell would you want releasing to be done through software? your switch crashes and now the joycons are permanently affixed to it? The joycons attach from the side and not the top so the release button makes you pull it off from the side.
It's definitely not it. If you've heard, software houses have been asked to conceptualise games using a projector. One joy-con is said to have a projector that can be used to merge images on walls with other console owners, and play movies/games when docked. Therefore the joy-con must be bigger than the one you show, so as to include more battery capacity and the projector itself. Like your joy-cons don't even have the camera section.
