    Did you use a computer to know what the temperature was at?
    How many quarts did you end up using?

    Many thx for post 👍 Any chance for "daily " maintenance on outback, forester 2.0 non turbo engine,cvt?

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  ปีที่แล้ว

      Basic maintenance i can recommend to you in any car. 5k miles engine oil change and 15k miles transmission fluid drain and fill. 25k miles for differential and transfer case fluid.

    Hi ! Many thanks for the video it was very informative. What is the mileage of filter + fluid replacement ?

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the time i replace the filter and fluid, the car already has 150k miles. but i suggest do the service every 30kmiles with the filter. for fluid drain and fill only, i suggest 15k.

    What "Bran" of transmission filter kit did you use please??

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i guess i could say any brand would work just fine. its a matter of how often you have to change it. I dont remember the exact brand Im using in this video.

    How many miles on the vehicle? Has the CVT fluid been changed before?

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Around 150k. They never did because factory does not recommend it. They said its a lifetime fluid. That put a conclusion that the transmission life is only 150k. After that, its a regular maintenance to replace the transmission assembly. Lol. Sorry, thats just me being sarcastic.

    Isn’t that pan just a screen/strainer and the filter is actually inside the transmission and to replace it, have to disassemble the transmission.

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@starguy821 yes. its a strainer. but i dont think theres an internal filter.

    • @loboheeler
      @loboheeler 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, there is a fine filter that requires splitting the cases to change it. The strainer shown can be cleaned of any larger particles, but usually does not need to be touched. Good idea to remove and clean the pan to clean the magnet and fully empty the oil more than just removing the drain plug.

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@loboheeler thats interesting. i do rebuild transmissions on honda and some ford, chrysler, but i have not seen one with fine filter internally that would require splitting transmission assembly. if you find a video of service procedure, please post the link in the comment.

    Hello. Do you have the torque specs for the filter bolts and the pan bolts?

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      idk the exact number but normally the filter is about 6ft.lbs. and the pan bolts are 9ft.lbs.

    Don't you need to let the pan sealer set up overnight before you put fluid in it?

    • @abcdeinformation3048

      Depends on the sealant that your using. Im using toyota fipg on this video.

    • @abcdeinformation3048

      @@curtis1951 read the instruction on the tube your using. Some takes 1hr, some 30min. Some are longer like 4hrs. But when i do it, once im done with everything, i add fluid right away. Lol.

    • @abcdeinformation3048
      @abcdeinformation3048  ปีที่แล้ว

      The main key though is that the mating surface is bone dry. Free of transmission fluid. Thats my only guarantee that your sealant will not leak out fluid even if you only let it sit for half hour.
