The ability to really listen to what someone is saying also helps with showing empathy and responding accordingly. And the meeting in oktober 1995 bit made me laugh😄🌟

💯! Empathy is based on listening 👂🏻👌🏻. Sometimes we think its about reading minds, but it‘s really about stopping and listening.
…and yeah, that must have been some meeting 😂🙈

I like how you acted out the different situations (some formidable acting ability on display), it made me think about this point: it takes courage to have empathy, doesn't it... because ultimately empathy is a risky emotional investment that not everyone is prepared to make. If people believe that emotions are a burden they will want to be emotionally lazy and avoid them altogether. It's simply too easy to be unempathic. Augmenting empathy can make people uncomfortable because it makes them vulnerable to their own emotional baggage. And yet having empathy is at the core of who we really are as human beings, because we were meant to be creatures of love but somewhere throughout life we can forget this and try to pretend that love is secondary to every other thing and so we get more defensive, less loving, less empathic, more egoic... we drift away from our core identity and become irrelevant to our humanity.

I‘m glad you liked the little skits 🙂 I find it makes things a lot clearer when we can experience them vs. just hearing about them abstractly.
And thank you for this thoughtful comment and excellent points! I agree 💯! It takes courage to be empathic, and the willingness to be vulnerable and connected to all emotions, also uncomfortable ones. It‘s also very rewarding, a lot more than avoiding it, but we first have to try it to experience that. „Creatures of love“ is a great way to think about who we can be ✨.

I see my parents in so many of the bad examples. Thank you!!!! I have unlearned many of these behaviors, but did not know how to create the positive.

Thank you so very much for an eye opening demonstration of empathy. Unfortunately I recognize myself in many of those unsympathetic comments, however now I am aware of that. Please keep posting! :)

Men get this with jobs, and women get this with relationships. (Never-ending blame and minimizing). "Well if you just did this!"
