Okay, that biting kid and the 'HIV positive' person is just gold. Parents who let their childern run roughshot over other people and the enviroment around them need to be taught some scary, hard lessons.
My one niece, when she was young, had a habit of interupting people. As someone with ADHD, i'm painfully aware of 'needing to wait for my turn' so her being like that got under my skin. So, i told her she needs to learn patience when speaking with people. 'I cant waaaaaaaaait!' She whined at me. "Do you know what will happen if you dont learn patience now?" I asked. She shakes her head, giggling. "You become a rude adult." I said, very flatly. Her smile fell. She got pensive. Who's my most patient, respective child? Yup, her.
Its worthless to waste energy trying to fight or match energy with kids. Treat them like little adults by being honest and forthright and they tend to start respecting you. Talk with them, not at them. It works most of the time. Theres like 30 kids out there that being to friends and family that all consider me their aunt.

FRRRR like it's acceptable from like 2-7 ish but once you hit that 8 mark it's unacceptable in my eyes, and even more so when the kid is like 10-12 (like me,I've seen too many stories of kids my age doing things like bullying/harassment and the parents going "oh he doesn't know any better he's only a child!" And the kid gets away with it. Ofc you probably won't take my response more seriously, but it's honestly really sad seeing that happen

Oof that cake one. The grocery store bakery I used to work at had a self-serve showcase. It had the usual things, donuts, various bun, assorted bagels, croissants, and cookies. One night I'm closing and while I'm cleaning the showcase glass, I see this little turd of a kid stick his hand into the cookie drawer of the showcase, collect a bunch of crumbs and m&m bits, lick it up, and stick his hand in it again. I walk over, pull the cookie tray out, walk over to the nearest garbage can, and maintain direct eye contact with the parents as I tip the nearly full tray into the trash. They made some BS argument that they were going to buy some. I just say "sure you were" and go back to my duties

Kind of the opposite... Mine is a fad for trend that ended up being to my benefit.
My daughter had celiac disease... There is a large and complicated explanation for it, but what it boils down to was her body was unable to process gluten.... Which if you check, is in just about everything processed in America.
So, after my ex-wife and I figured out that the food we were feeding our child was poisoning her... We had to find gluten-free options. At the time, the only way to do this was to read the ingredients on everything before we purchased it. Other than a few specialty cases in the freezer section and meat... It was almost impossible to find and in some cases double or triple the price of their everyday variant.
Then one day, when she was about 3 or 4 years old... It started. First people were complaining on Facebook about the gluten-free trend. Then restaurants started catering to it... Then lo and behold, the gluten-free Isle was born! The prices of the products that we had to feed our daughter dropped dramatically as the products were becoming more widespread.
Not only did this make it easier to find the products, but it saved us time and money... Never before, and never since has someone else's nonsense been a greater boon to my family. It may have been hip or trendy out on the West Coast, but it absolutely elevated the quality of life and I will be forever thankful.

People always complain that "kids are so awful these days" what the people who say this fail to realize is that its THEIR generation that raised them to act like they do. (Not in all cases obviously, there are some amazing parents who get a rouge kid, but 95% of the time it's how they were raised)

When the smoke alarm went off, she put it on one of the leather stools, then paniked again and put it on the wooden table, covering it with my grandmas nice jacket. My parents taught me growing up that my actions have consequences, and sometimes those consequences are getting bitten by an animal. I learned this the hard way one day, when I, 5 or 6 at the time, stuffed my dad's pet pigeon into a pillowcase and started swinging it around. The pigeon was thankfully unharmed, as I didn't swing him into anything, but boy did he hold a grudge. We kept his feathers clipped, and he always went straight for my toes whenever I was within 5 feet of the poor bird. It was justified, on his part. I definitely deserved it. Needless to say, I have since learned empathy and genuinely regret putting the poor thing through that. My parents made it very clear that I had gotten what I deserved.

The autopsy's results haven't been released yet as of this writing.
This is to address trending viral issues that go awry. Recently, a teen from my hometown passed away after taking the "one chip challenge". You must consume a chip laced with Paqui Carolina Reaper while remaining averse to liquids. It was offered for sale in a coffin-shaped case. That alone should have raised some red flags.
The challenge was accepted by a teenager from my hometown, who tragically died as a result of the effects. International news outlets covered it.
Who is actually at fault is unclear to me. The Hershey-owned business nevertheless demanded that the product be pulled from the shelves.

Not that it’s a trend because it feels demeaning to put it that way, but every so often, “pro-ana” content will pop up and become prevalent on certain social media sites. Pro-Ana (pro anorexia) is the term that people would use to go under site word restrictions. Of course it’s always there if your looking for it, but I hate when I see on new sites like tiktok where the younger generation is exposed to it yet again just like I was at that age on tumblr. The content is usually “hate yourself” bs, dangerously low calorie diets, excessive workout routines, body checking and thin-spo. Sites have gotten more restrictive but it doesn’t stop people from posting this disgusting harmful shit. I’m worried about young people finding it going down the same self hatred path I did on diets that don’t work and mindsets that destroy your self esteem.

I'm about to boil some blood, but here I go. The whole "blue pumpkin buckets for autistic people" thing that circulates on Facebook every year. Don't take this the wrong way. I am an autistic person and here is why I hate this idea. What people think it is: A way to be let people know why a certain trick or treater is not speaking, does not say trick or treat or thank you, is not wearing a costume, does not give you eye contact or is well over the "standard" age of a trick or treater. What is actually does: Outs the person as autistic and makes them more visible to dangerous people and otherwise judgmental people.
I don't care if they are as visibly autistic as possible. Some autistics do not want to be open about being autistic and they have every right to feel that way. I was the same way as a kid. Plus, the whole "blue as the autism color" originates from Autism Speaks. A controversial "charity" that acts more as a hate group to autistics than it does an organization to help us. It also enforces the myth that "autism is a boys only disability or that it's more common in boys than girls" which isn't true. What is true is that boys are more likely to be diagnosed than girls due to the stigma of autism being a boys disability. I know that colors don't have a gender as I was given that argument when I discussed how the blue pumpkins are a harmful trend last year, but some people don't know that and that's why I bring this up.
I understand the compassion that this comes from the Blue Pumpkin Bucket idea. It was created by a parent of an autistic person as a way to make trick or treating to more inclusive to autistic people. Unfortunately, the execution falls flat. Here is what we really need to be doing. If a trick or treater comes to your door or trunk that is not speaking, does not say trick or treat or thank you, is not wearing a costume, does not give you eye contact, or is well over the "standard" age of a trick or treater, don't question it. Just give them candy. There is no reason anyone who perform a routine that could be very mentally grating or impossible for them just so they can have free candy on Halloween. You have to be a certain kind of cruel to refuse candy to someone that doesn't pretend to be neurotypical just to make you less uncomfortable.o

When I was a kid ( around 4 to 5 years old) my sister ( at the time was 10 to 11 ) had a hamster named snowball so both of us loved that hamster. So one day my dad's sister ( my aunt ) came by with her kids ( my cousins ) so her daughters came up to the bedroom where snowball was and tried to hold her and well somehow they made the hamster nervous and well snowball nipped my cousin's hand and well she dropped the hamster on her head . My dad rushed upstairs to see what was going on since now my sister is crying . My dad was mad and tried to scold his sister's daughter (his niece) for dropping the hamster now what I heard from my mom my aunt had no care about the hamster and just say from that day we knew not to let her kids near an animal
Keep in mind this happened around 1993 to 1994 my aunt she had 4 boys and 2 girls the one who drop the hamster was the youngest sister of the 6 kids .... ya that another story

Need to make a new law called the "F*** about and find out" law so that if an injury is your own stupid fault you can't sue anyone or hold them legally accountable. And in the case of the kid tormenting the dog the parents get into trouble for not raising their kids right. If parents had consequences for raising a***holes they would do a better job. And before anyone gets defensive and tells me I don't know what it's like to be a parent I have three children. We have a responsibility to make sure that the next generation isn't a bunch of narcissistic c**ts. Parenting is a privelage that comes with responsibilities. Fellow parents, if your kid acts like a d*** and you don't put a stop to that BS you should have consequences. I say give businesses the right to ban families that repeatedly don't control their kids.

My nine year-old sister is friends with this neighborhood girl her age. Her friend watches A LOT of TH-cam, which isn’t the issue as that’s surprisingly common for 9 year-olds in 2023. The issue is that it’s all “red pill” content. She constantly tells my sister about how men are better than women, the Earth is flat and that democrats are “death of America”. Luckily my sister is smart and independent minded, so she doesn’t buy that crap. It’s so weird because her parents are both very liberal scientists. Sometimes I believe TH-cam is feeding the youngest generation so much crap and they believe it all.

My cousin got beat up by a kid because he wanted to play with the Nintendo (GameCube? Idk). Of course, he wrestled the kid back and his parents showed up and scolded my cousin. My cousin grabbed the kid by the collar, and told him "if you want to fight with an adult, get ready to be hit by an adult. You'd better behave now because your parents are not going to teach you, but I will" Then he pushed him away and told him "go cry to your parents"
Everyone was speechless except the kid who began to cry. That kid (who was around 10) became super well behaved

My mother and father, whom by the way have been disowned by their real children since, but with this story you will know why I might question their ability. So I find out they are literally wanting to adopt a three year old whose mother was a hopeless addict. But when I find out, I literally ask my sweet caring mother just how long is the statute of limitations. And nothing more. And she tells me if I'm not careful they might not get another victim. I am 59 years old and am legally disabled because of the way they treated me. And with a mentality like that it seems like they are trying to be unusial so they can "win". I tried to stop them, but all think I am a liar seeking revenge. Bexause the abuse wasn't enough, they have been actively laying the groudwork so I literally considered insane. Not yet I ain't. I am not delusional, but that would mean they feel a failure. They are monsters and I know longer hide their crimes anymore. It isn't even technically illegal, because how does average lower midd class convince anyone his parents are mean.

Suggestions would not hurt as long as they're constructive and mean well are never a bad idea. The issue is most people can't take any kind of criticism, especially when it reflects something personal like their children. Fuck those people, grow some self awareness.

Oh allow me, I have quite the story for this one. So my grandparents paid for a cruise for the whole family when I was 13, my grandfather was taking my two male cousins out for the afternoon and my grandmother wanted to have afternoon tea with me and my female cousin so we set a time and I went with my grandmother for tea. The two of us waited and waited for my cousin to show up, I could tell that my grandmother was having a good time but I saw a sadness on her face that my 2 years younger than me cousin didn't show up. When we got back, I went to go see what was up with my cousin and SHE WAS READING A BOOK! She read a book instead of spending time with her grandmother. I lost it on her and chewed her out for it even though I almost never get mad. I'll always have the memory of the hurt on my grandmother's face in my mind as well as the memory of what my cousin did to her. Just a side note but that was the only time my grandparents asked for that the entire trip, I'm 24 now and I still get mad thinking about it. Seems to be a trend for the youth to not spend time with grandparents and blow off time with them to do other things
