On the seat belt thing, back in HS i did an internship at Ford, in a department that handles accident and recall litigation, one of the engineers there had a wall covered in photos of destroyed cars. Every accident on his wall was one that the people in the car walked away from with little or no harm because of the safety features in their car, and 90% of these features only work because the seat belt is holding you into the car. That was 20 years ago, cars have far more safety features today but all still hinge on that belt keeping you in the car.

I was T-boned pretty hard at an intersection. I was in shock and scared. My friend who I called and my mom said I had a really bad red mark forming and it was turning into a nasty bruise. From what I could see I thought it was just a temporary red mark like from a light slap. It bruised pretty badly and I had to go to the ER in an ambulance just to make sure nothing serious was happening since the police and medics said from the look of it I was hit pretty hard. Had multiple CT scans and a few X-rays on my knee (found a bruise while they were examining me) and pelvis. No breaks and no damage to my arteries and veins. I had just found out how easy it is for the collar bone to break and was very surprised the force of the impact didn’t break or fracture any of my bones. After the shock wore off and I was waiting for an X-ray I was hoping I didn’t break anything so I wouldn’t have to be shamed out of r/neverbrokeabone. I had my priorities straight. For the next week and a half just popping my knuckles using my left hand hurt all the way up to my collarbone pretty badly. I believe my bones were probably bruised and they still are sensitive so I can’t do much heavy lifting right now. I still have a light mark on my chest almost 3 weeks later and have a slight scar from the friction burn that was caused by the seatbelt. I dodged a bullet in a way that it could’ve been much worse and I could have easily broken a bone or more

Back in 2018, me and my parents were going on vacation and, in doing that, we also went on the Morandi Bridge (now the Genoa-Saint George Bridge), in Italy. One hour later, we heard on the news that it had collapsed. It was a tragedy and everyone talked about it. We would've died if we had left home an hour late

I live in Denmark where hurricanes aren't a common sight. We had one in 1999 which was the first one in a little over 100 years so, needless to say, no one alive knew what it would be like, and people stupidly enough still ventured outside. My friend was in a car with her boyfriend and father in law on their way back to her in laws' place. They drove with a forest on their right side and came across a fallen tree that blocked the entire road. Her father in law decided for some stupid reason to get out of the car to look at the tree. While he was standing there, they all heard the cracking of another tree about to fall. She was laughing while she told me how shocked her father in law looked, and that she had never experienced anyone doing a three point turn that fast before. They made it a few meters away, and the tree fell exactly where they had been parked. She was laughing but I was horrified. It wasn't until I asked her "Do you know how close you came to dying?" that she realized how serious it had been. Her laughter immediately stopped and her facial expression changed. Three people could have died that day. Over all, seven people did die that day spread out in the country because of the hurricane. My friend dodged a bullet that day.

Through a very long and complicated series of events I ended up hanging out with a classmate whose brother happened to be a member of the Latin Kings, I did not know this at the time and was quite surprised when I found out.
Well Rival gang members attempted to do a drive by and luckily failed to kill anyone. They narrowly missed my friend and his brother but unfortunately I was hit in the chest.
a combination of items including a thick leather jacket, my phone my wallet, the game system, a few other odds and ends kept the bullet from doing any actual serious damage.
It hit me in the left pectoral muscle and broke a rib but did not go any deeper than just the surface of the bone. If it wasn't for that pile of items inside my jacket pocket it would have nailed me right in the heart or lung.
Now I have this pretty neat scar and a fun story to tell about the time I metaphorically dodged a bullet but not literally.

regarding story 12. I was hit from a car turning behind me. I never lost conscious, but my only memory of the actual hit is a picture of me be up against a windshield wondering if it was a bus windshield because it felt like I was vertical. I still remember losing my glasses, I could only see colored blobs without them at the time, screaming at the blobs of colored cars driving around my body. At the time I thought I was lucky because I only fractured my hip. Now, I have chronic pain in that area that can only be relieved by laying on my back.

Many years ago, I was out partying and met this really charming guy that were splashing money around him. We hit it off and flirted the whole night and when the club closed we shared a cab and the first stop were at his hotel. He wanted me to come with him, I sure was in the mood for some fun, but finally decided not to and went home, with the promise to go on a date with him the next day. When I woke up I turned on the news. He was wanted for a double murder and robbery.
Me in complete panic? What gave you that idea?😳
He is doing life now, I called the police and told them where he were.

I was in highschool like 25 years ago.
I woke up out of the blue thinking I would be late for the bus.
That when I realized it was Saturday and I shouldn't be awake. I just could lay down and moved to the other side of the bed for no reason. Not long after I moved over my closet door (accordion door style) came off it's hinges and fell down where my head would be if I was still sleeping.
    Dodged that bullet.
I listen to my inner thoughts of what I should do. Because one time I didn't listen to them and didn't dodge the bullet. Maybe one day I'll have the courage to tell you about that un-dodged bullet

One of the bullet's I dodged had been maybe 7 years ago (I don't remember the year.) I was leaving a house with a friend in a jeep and the friend kept taking forever to leave, however if we had gone early I may of been in the hospital as it came clear when driving down the road and a few guys were panicking because they slammed into another whose car had been destroyed. The entire front end was smashed, once we noticed we hopped out making sure that the dude who had gotten hit had been okay while seeing three drunk guy's come over asking as they were freaking out due to the car crash that they caused. My friend's vehicle had been one of those old military style jeeps, so I was on the left side since that's how the seats were and if we had left sooner who knows what sort of damage it would of caused or what could of been it was crazy

The bullet I dodged was an ex of mine. He was a nice enough guy that had a hard past. He'd grown up in California the youngest of 10 children. Right after high school his parents went out of the country for a year and a half for a mission trip to provide music to places that didn't have music. This left him essentially on his own.
Left to his own devices, he began to take illegal substances, which escalated to selling them as well. At some point he was arrested and went to jail. He also was homeless for a time during all of this as well.
These substances messed with his mind and body a lot more than it typically would others. The reason? As a child he'd been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and he never really had it under control.
    That's just his backstory.
This was all pretty much past him by the time we met and started dating. He was a nice guy. Gentlemanly, easy to talk to, and we had a lot of conversations about the future. We got close enough that I was seriously wanting to marry him. I just needed him to ask me to.
There was just one problem. He never proposed, and our relationship came to a point that I had to decide to either move on with my life or keep sitting around waiting for him to ask me to marry him.
This decision hurt, because he had talked to me about what it would be like if we had married and had children. We'd had a plan, and I even tried to make it as obvious as possible that I would say yes if he just knelt down and asked.
What ended up making me choose to move on and not marry him was the one thing that I had never considered until that point in our relationship.
His past had messed up his mind and body enough, and with him not properly taking care of his diabetes, I would never be his equal in our relationship. I would pretty much have to parent him and our children. And I couldn't do that to him. He was too good of a person despite his past. So I moved on.
I did it in the wrong way, being young and afraid. I ghosted him. Looking back, I would have chosen to leave him in a different way, but I am not surprised that I ghosted him because that was essentially how I was broken up with by my first boyfriend in high school. (He had sent me an email and then avoided me for almost a month instead of talking to me about the relationship and how it needed to end. This had messed with my emotional health for quite some time and it wasn't until this guy that I was fully over the breakup.)
Several years later I began dating my now husband of almost 3 years. A few months ago my husband's mom passed away due to cancer.
My mom, perusing the obituaries of the funeral home my MIL had chosen, found my ex's obituary from earlier the very same month my MIL had passed away. She called me and let me know.
When I read his obituary, I felt a strong sense of peace that I had made the right decision, but I also had the very clear thought enter my mind that had I actually married him all those years ago I have no doubts that he still would have passed away when he did(to complications due to his diabetes, unsurprisingly), which would have left me as a widow in my early 30's with multiple young children to raise on my own.
I am so grateful now that I made the decision to move on, despite how morbid it may sound, I do NOT have the personality to handle raising children on my own without a husband by my side.

This was in 1995. I was about 8 at the time.
It was around the Fourth of July. Like many kids, I was playing outside near dusk. Many families were also outside.
Did I mentioned this was the hood?
Anyhow, I was just running when I noticed a flash of light heading towards me. I ran for my life but ran into a random wall. I finally heard a pop.
My parents went to my aid. I suffered a busted nose.
Turns out, a group of teenagers brought some bottle rockets and were goofing around. Did I mentioned, firecrackers sounds almost like gun shots?
This got the attention of the police. I don't remember what kind of trouble they were in. I forgot to mention that firecrackers in civilians' hands was illegal in Massachusetts... and still is. So many are brought out of state, New Hampshire.
Of course, the Worcester Fire Department releases warnings about playing with fireworks. I was pretty much another reason.
I ended up with a busted nose, which affected the right side. I still have a scar from that.

The biggest bullet I ever dodged was when I was playing Mario Wii with a couple friends. We were cruising through level 9-8, collecting coins, avoiding the fuzzies (not the feeling, I mean the actual enemies called fuzzies) all was going well until we came up on that first white wall. we all started panicking because we couldn’t break it since we all had propeller mushrooms, and in our panic we failed to notice the coins making the shape of a bullet. A few tense moments go by and then a giant bullet bill started plowing through the bricks. we all tried to get out of the way, but I was the only one able to make it since I accidentally footstooled one of the other and they footstooled the other two in our haste to get away. Fortunately karma got me in the end as I got wombo combo’d by a goomba and a couple more of those gigantic bullet bills later on before my friends could get to me in their little respawn bubbles.
We later managed to finish the level, but we were shook by what happened the first time we tried to beat it.

Worked a pretty terrible retail job, where I always worked alone, handled a lot of cash, and closed alone. I left because neighbors knew where I worked and deliberately came in to antagonize me and this was stressing out my family. So I quit. Guy who replaced me was soon robbed at murdered doing the exact same shift and job I used to have. It would have been me had I not left that place. I saw the murder story on the morning news and made sure my mom never saw the news that day. She would have been traumatized even though it wasn't me. It could have been. So that's how I literally dodged a bullet.

A couple of years ago, a section of my work building was torn down and was being rebuilt. One day, the crew was working on the rafters, and my boss, three employees and myself were in the space below, talking about the floor plan once the building was buttoned up. One of the employees noticed we'd been working into our scheduled break time, so we exited the area despite the boss wanting to finish our meeting. About three minutes after we left the the space, the ENTIRE new building space collapsed. We saw it later on security cameras from the business across the street. Had we finished our meeting before going on break, we would have all been killed. One construction guy was injured but no one else was hurt. The temporary supports on one wall had been removed, and when it buckled, the whole 60' x 90' (27 x 9 meter) structure came down in two seconds.

    1) As a kid, I was climbing in a tree. Walking along a branch, I slipped and landed with a leg on either side of said branch. Fortunately, I'm female, because if I were male, my fun sack would have been flattened. That's not the bullet I dodged though. A bit of wood had gone straight into my groin, right next to a major artery, if the stick had gone just a centimetre in a different direction, I would probably have bled to death before getting to a hospital.
    2) A failed attempt to unalive myself in my late teens. I came close to not making it. I still struggle severely with mental health, but I'm 35 now and I keep fighting, some days I consider giving up, but I fight it, it's exhausting but then, all battles are.
    3) Cauda Equina Syndrome. A serious surgical emergency involving the spine. Your spinal cord gets crushed, but the Cauda Equina is a nerve bundle in your lower back. This nerve bundle includes nerves that impact your legs, pelvic organs ect. Every hour that passes without decompression surgery can increase the risk of paralysis. Not only did I have Cauda Equina Syndrome once, I got it a SECOND time 5 months later. Paralysis is the bulled I dodged. Walking is now very difficult, I need crutches to get around, I'm in intense pain all the time, I have bladder and bowel issues because Cauda Equina Syndrome impacts the nerves for your pelvic floor area, I can't feel my toes or the backs of my legs... But I am insanely lucky because I can still walk, many people aren't that lucky. I'm thankful for every step I take 🖤💜.

Not me but a guy with whom I went to college. When I was in college I had a relatively small part in the musical "Man of La Mancha". During rehearsal one night there was suddenly a huge explosion with glass shattering and spraying halfway across the stage. A huge spotlight had fallen from the ceiling and crashed to the stage immediately behind one of the other guys in the play. He had literally just leaned forward a bit to say one of his lines. and if he hadn't made the small move from his original spot, the light would have landed directly on him. The poor guy lived in a dorm downstairs and one unit over from me, so I saw him on a decently regular basis. His face turned white as a sheet and he was in shock for a few hours after that.

Kinda like the COVID story. In late April 2020 I went to the doctor for pain in my left breast (at the time, I was a 36 year old female). Doctor ordered a diagnostic mammogram for early march. On March 4th, I got the news. Cancer.
First bullet, or rather an amazing coincidence: I didn't have to worry about taking time off for work for my port placement and initial chemotherapy as I already had the week of the 16th off for my 37th birthday. So I had a whole week to recover.
The bullet which I'm sure everyone can guess: When I returned to work on the 26th (night shift at Walmart) the parking lot was all but deserted. While I'd been gone the store had decided to close the store to customers from 8pm to 7 am. My working shift was 10-7. So I, immuno-compromised. only had to be around multiple people who were my co-workers and knew my situation and thus took precautions on my behalf like keeping a distance as possible and watching for hand sanitizer/latex gloves for me. I was a week out from my final chemo treatment when we changed to 12-7 and I had to interact briefly with customers. My oncologist was thrilled with this arrangement.
I wouldn't catch COVID until well into 2021, and that was very mild.

I was a pot head in high school. There was a wall across the street where stoners would go to get high. One day I'm skipping 4th period, waiting at the wall for someone to come along & get me high. I see a large crowd of kids walking toward the wall from school. They were singing a song, "The things we do for drugs." These kids weren't cool, didn't know about the wall, and ended up standing in front of people's houses. The crowd was so large they spilling out into the street. It would've been so easy for me to walk up & join, but I thought 'They're not being cool,' so I went BACK to school! Just as the next period started, a big rumor spread through the students like a wave: "A bunch of kids just got busted across the street!' Dodged a bullet!!

My bullet dodged just happened last week. A little over a year ago, I was at a part time job I had worked for 5+ years. A promotion for a full time position came up that I had basically been working the job of for about two years. The person who previously held it put in a recommendation for me, and I thought I interviewed well for it. But, it was given to another person who had started working a month previously. I was so ticked off that I found a new job with the starting wage being a little over the promotion and had benefits. Two weeks ago, I found out that all full time jobs were eliminated from that store. They weren't even given the option to go back to part-time, they were full on let go. I still have my full time position and am training to go to a new position.

My dad and I were heading to one of his friend's places, and he decided to change lanes at the last minure as we approached a stoplight. The light had just turned red, and no sooner had he moved over when a big SUV slammed into the car that had been in front of us at full speed, maybe 45 or 50 mph. The force of it pushed the car halfway through the intersection, and the back of the car was destroyed, with the trunk and back seat totally crushed in. I remember we were so close to the impact that a few pieces of the red plastic from the break lights flew through the window and hit me on the leg. I watched the driver of the car climb out of the window, but there was blood all down the back of his neck. Since other people were already calling 911, my dad drove around the wreck and we continued on to his friend's place. I still think about the driver who got hurt sometimes, I really hope he's doing okay now.

First time commenter, long time listener
I was in New York City on September 10, 2001. I lived on Long Island so this isn’t as bananaz as it sounds. I was 8 and my uncles girlfriend brought me with her to help her do something with keys (I think she was subletting an apartment?) and to take me around the city because I’ve always loved manhattan and the rest of my family didn’t like being there. The only person who ever brought me there before this was my gramma, and she’d died 2 months prior. Uncles girlfriend was always really bad with time planning, though, (I remember being out til 1am when I was 7 on Halloween because she kept wanting to take me to trick or treat at “one more house”) and we were there in the city super late. I, of course, had school the next day. This meant I stayed home at my grandpas house. I watched the towers come down live on tv. I was watching this happen to a place I had been a block away from, not 16 hours earlier. So, two bullets dodged, the first is that if we’d missed the last train of the night, we might have had to sleep there and coming home the next day would have been impossible for a long time. The second is that I didn’t have to be in school on Long Island when the towers came down, which is when a bazillion parents were rushing into classrooms grabbing their kiddos. Yikes.

Too all the seat belt stories I have 2. Not of me but of my dad's brother in laws at the time. Both were truckers. Brother one wore his seat belt and got in a accident and if he didn't he would of flown out of the truck only to get ran over. Really dodged a bullet there. Brother 2 didn't wear his got into a accident and flew out of the windshield to find the truck either explode or catch fire i don't remember which one. He dodged a bullet too. Yes wear your seat belts but please also do remember they can also be a big hindrance as well as a life saver

Story 2. I'm ex Royal Navy and quite frank!y the captain should have been cashiered along with her senior engineers and a full investigation into the management of all departments undertaken. No department should be able to get to that level of incompetence with the planned maintenance schedules, standard daily operator checks etc which, in the US Navy, are very similar to the RN. I would like to know if the investigating officer forwarded the report to the area flag officer. If the captain of the ship wouldn't do it, it would be up to that officer to raise this situation as, next time, people could be killed or badly injured.

My dad was showing me a pistol in his bedroom, he let the slide go and the gun fired. Bullet went through mattress in between us.

A brick being thrown through the sunroof of my mom's car when I was a little kid in Ireland because some football fans didn't like the football tops we were wearing which woke me up after it hit my leg but it took a few minutes for any of us to realise I was hurt and my mom immediately informed the police and drove straight to A&E where we realised that 1). I was the only one hurt and my mom and two older sisters were completely fine 2). The injury was basically just a large cut that left a bit of a scar when it could and should have been much worse and 3). My mom deciding to never get another car with a sunroof

Had a girl show up to my apartment after we went on one date. I never shared my address with her and told her at the end of the date that I was looking for something else. She sent a picture to my phone via text of my front door. Should also say that we never exchanged phone numbers, only texted in the online dating site's messaging system. Then she send a selfie of her in front of my door to show it was actually her. We weren't in any similar social circles, so I have no idea how she got my address. Well my old address that is, as I had JUST moved out of that apartment a week before she did this. Blocked her number and hoped that was that.

So I was welding and the guy next to me was securing a gas tank, I am setting up a stick weld when I hear the sound of metal clangin but a meer few feet from me, I turn around to see the canister on it's side, the top inches from having hit a corner, had the thing been a few inches to the left, it would have exploded near instantly.
For clarification for those who don't know how gas tanks work, the amount of pressure would have caused the gas to leave the canister so fast that it would ignite from the friction of hiting standing air, nok flammable gas just goes flyig. Tho in a welding shop, that's not much better.

I've dodged so many bullets, all in part thanks to my dogs, this is basically my autobiography 🤣(I've told them all before so Imma just copy and paste them):
1: I barely remember this, I live in a backwoods Yukon town and there's a 5 mile trail to the sawmill where I work, I was walking to work with my two dogs (a Wolamute and a Newfoundland, both of whom are one man dogs and not to social) I remember seeing a grizzly charge then next thing I remember is the bear on-top of me (I can still hear his roar and breathing), I remember seeing my knife going into its eyes and throat, I remember the hearing King and Chief growling. Then I blacked out, I woke up to see them facing off against the bear (who was gushing blood) Idk how long I was out that time, I remember King and Chief licking me. I i crawled to my lunch box, got my pen and note pad out and wrote sos and tied it on Kings collar and yelled 'GO TO WORK, GO TO WORK' then I went down. When I woke up at the hospital I was told that I shoulda died but King and Chief saved me, I had carved a smile in the bears throat ear to ear so the bear woulda died anyway but the King and Chief got the bear off me and there doing great now, that bears skin is my favorite winter coat now and I still walk that route to work every day and say a silent prayer when I pass the spot where it happened
2: I live way up north in canada, with a 5'6 long 120 lb Wolamute (I also have a Newfie, chief, but he isn't pertinent in the next few storys), I was helping my buddy patch a fence in the woods if his farm, I took the tractor out and Kings laying on the bucket when three wild dogs (dogs farmers turned loose, one even had it's 'bandana collar' on still) were coming at me, I ran to grab the chainsaw that I left by the tractor with King, then I see him charge past me, I turn around to watch while still 'jogging' backwards to get the saw, I see him jump on the back of the dog that was in front and bit down on the back of his neck, must have hit the spine or something, turned around and ripped half the throat of the second dog open and then circled once or twice with the third dog this third dog was a giant Saint Bernard mutt and he stood up on his hind legs like he was going to basically body slam him on his back, King ran under and bit the hind leg of him and then that St Bernard took off limping away, so King got to have all the fun and all I got to do was throw the carcasses in the burn pile of the two other dogs.
3: This story took place in June of 2022, for context I'm an 19 year old male, 5'8, about 200 pounds, so I'm not huge but I'm not small by any means. Now to the story, I live on in a small village in Yukon Canada, this year I invited my two friends up for a camping trip, I'll call them Tom and Al, go camping, I decided to bring my two dogs I named my Wolamute King he is 5'6, 110 lbs and chie, my 150 lb newfound land, this will be very important. They are both great working dogs, on first day was in eventful, but that night King would give out a short or a growl and chief was just lying between us and the bush, we didn't pay any mind to this, it was nice to have them with us, king would howl for about 5 minutes at 9, 12 & 3 at night, on the morning of day 2 I was getting some more firewood to cook breakfast when I noticed a set of tracks, now keep in mind me tom and Al were all wearing work/hiking boots and know what our prints look like, these tracks were from cowboy boots, the circled our campsite but we decided to ignore it that day went by fine but that night at supper King was even more on edge and chief was starting to growl too, this wasnt to much of a concern as both are territorial anti social one man dogs, we figured it was a animal or something on the 3rd morning it was Tom's turn to get up early and make the fire, he noticed the tracks too but we decided it was some pothead screwing with us, we had a great day and an even better swim before Chow time, but that night at supper King and chief were more on edge, snarling randomly into the brush, twice both of them had started to stalk off into the brush, I called them back each time. After a hearty dinner of hot dogs and water. We called it a night. About 5 hours into the night 2AM, I woke up to the sound of King snarling chief barking and growling and the yelling of a man. I jumped out of my sleeping bag and grabbed the Hatchett, we all ran out of the tent, when Al turned on a flashlight and me and Tom saw King with his muzzle around a man's arm (the section between the elbow and wrist), chief trying to get at his neck, I handed Tom the Hatchett, and tried to pull King and Chief off, after about 30 seconds he lets go but still snarling and growling with the ferocity of each and every one of his wolf ancestors, eventually cheif and King calmed down, we saw to the man's neck and decided to cut our trip short and turn him in, and yes, we brought him with us for 3 days to report him. This guy told the police that God told him to sneak into our tent and silt our throats to sacrifice us, the man needed 3 surgeries before he could be released from the hospital I am forever grateful to my dogs, without him I have no idea where we would be.

One time in a storm, the wind was blowing and I saw a tree swaying outside. Huge tree, pretty close to our front door. I almost left my room (2nd floor, not near the tree) to tell someone but didn’t. Half of the tree ended up crashing and almost knocked out our glass front door. Our dog nearly got killed and my mom and brother would've been seriously injured if the door had broken. Extremely scary for all of us.

    Nothing too crazy, but definitely a dodged bullet;
Back in 8th grade (yes middle school), I had a super crush on a girl who was exactly my preference and type. It was that time of decade where boys in public schools would have dick measuring contests over who gets their dick wet before everyone else, and honestly peer pressure set in like a mother fucker.
However, I was a coward (yes I am willing to admit that) and I never made a move on her. Though looking back she definitely gave a decent amount of signs that she had some affection towards me (like laying beside me and resting her head in my lap on the school yard bench during recess) and even invited me to walk her home a few times. But because I was the good little Christian boy who went from Point A to Point B I never took her up on any of her offers. Then I transferred to a different school for grades 9-12 and never saw her again.
During my Sophomore year of high school I caught myself reminiscing the past and tried to see if I could mend that bridge where I let it fall. Only to find that she had deleted her Facebook. I asked around with a couple of the few people we used to hang out with and almost all of them said the same thing: After 9th grade started she became a completely different person.
The sweet girl who used to love chocolate Kisses and wanted to be a veterinarian suddenly became the backdoor slut who ruined every guy she touched. I heard everything: Giving blowjobs in the stairwell, fucking dudes in the back of empty classrooms, kissing other girl’s boyfriends, hooking up with a guy just to cheat on him in a heartbeat and move onto the next, breaking hearts left and right. I wouldn’t have believed it, if it weren’t for the fact that everyone backed these claims. To this day a part of me wonders whether me leaving sent her in some downward spiral of her psyche, but I am not that self centered.
But if I had actually went along with her offers or actually had the balls to ask her out I could’ve been the first or the NEXT in a long line of guys she would emotionally RUIN.
The weirdest part of all of this is that… most of the initial information I got was from some anonymous source who messaged me out of the blue. Everyone else pretty much added onto or basically backed up what this mystery person told me. All I know is that they knew her to a degree, and that I “should stay away from her”
[P.S. I did actually manage to get in touch with the girl, but after a small bit of back and forth she eventually told me she HAD to cut ties with me because her “boyfriend is a very jealous person” and that she wished me a good rest of my life.]

I have a Good story for this actually!, tw for mention of sa and drugs
In my freshmen year of high-school a new kid comes into my class. Im gonna call him Ben (fake name) i was bens first friend in that school. Then he started hanging out with the druggies of the school. Vaping, weed, possibly other things. I distanced myself because i dont like those kind of things. But, the next year. A girl comes to the school. Now that wouldn't be a big deal but (tw) this girl had assaulted me sevral times the previous summer, she was an ex girlfriend and i couldnt be around her without having a panic attack. And, this girl, happened to be a smoker. And ben started hanging out with her. There where serval times i warned him, tried telling him it was a bad idea to be friends with her. But ben said she "gave him the good shit" and didnt listen to a word i said. They ended up dating and i find out, i go off on him because up until this point he was someone i considered a friend, it felt like the worst betrayal. This story dosnt have a happy ending, because those two are still involved.
