    Walmart customer: where's the bathroom?

I worked at Walmart for way to long, i have definately seen some horror stories of how employees were treated. Often this was an individual manager, or store management level issue of abusing/taking advantage of a particular employee or department. Having worked other shitty jobs before eh I didn't see anything there that you can't find elsewhere.
My last year with Walmart I had 6 months of relative bliss working in a good department with good management, then they consolidated managers, gave the less qualified manager the job (So double her previous responsibilities). She was a horrible manager who made my life hell till I left. Found out later they gave her the job because she's not qualified to get employment elsewhere so they gave her the job instead of the competent manager.
She wasn't intentionally making my life hell, which for some reason I find worse she was just really bad at being a manager.

@@lunaticbz3594 same I still work at Lowes and it’s not much more than an extension of of Walmart especially mine since it’s right next door and I have a lot of similar poop and fighting scenarios since I’m in a bad part of a bad town but other than bad management it’s a pretty great job compared to my last warehouse job where I got fired for peeing to much when it was 100 degrees in the building and I had to drink a gallon of water a day Lowes doesn’t care about anything as long as you aren’t stealing or just are blatantly not even trying to work which we’ve definitely had a few of those recently that just show up for a pay check and talk otp and disappear for the whole time

I counted! For anyone who became curious when he asked at 6:10 for someone to keep a tally. And to make it more interesting, I counted more than just the poop stories.
    Urine: 5
Sex: 3 (I might be one or two short on that one)
    Blood: 4
    death: 4
    Other bodily fluids: 4
    Poop: a whopping 17
A couple of the blood ones overlap with the death ones, and for the death one I didn't include the guy beaten with a golf club or the guy who shot himself because they weren't confirmed dead in the story, but I guess you can add them if you want. I also would have included the lady who wanted dead plants but I wasn't sure about that one. And for the poop ones, it's possible there's 18, but in the story where the person said the bathrooms were disgusting and that's all they would say about it, they didn't explicitly say it was poop related, so not sure about that one either. And yes I did include the lady who shoved clothes up her butt, because there's no way there wasn't poop involved there.

My first job was at a local Walmart in the city where I grew up. I didn't see this, I only heard about it, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. This woman got caught trying to steal by asset protection. As she was following security to the office, she then proceeded to bolt out the front door, with security hot on her heels. Apparently she ran out to the nearby road and tried to force her way into some random dude's truck. The dude was having none of that, slammed her in the face with the truck door, and sped off. This allowed the store security to get a hold of her, and the woman wound up getting a lot more charges slapped on her.

When I worked at Walmart and I did night shift a few times, we had this family that were regulars(they did night shopping cause they had worked long shifts and had one car.). They had a toddler that was wheelchair bound. Incredible kid, kept smiling everytime I saw him. The "grossest" thing I saw was another couple mocking the child. Seriously not even subtle about it. I was almost fired when I told the other couple screw a landmine and to go to Hell. I haven't seen the family in years but I hope they are doing well.

    • @JackDesert
      @JackDesert ปีที่แล้ว +10

I think I would have done the same. I had a regular whose 8 year old was wheelchair bound and me and him would be chatting about his wheels. I'd make a bit of a show on how to trick the chair out. My manager started getting onto me about 'mocking' the handicapped child. The kid turned and said "Shut up the adults are talking!" and started asking what color he should get his parents to paint the hubs. His mother then said "Sorry, they like talking about modifying the chair, they have a good time talking about putting a GoKart engine on it. but I would appreciate if you don't talk down to your employees for making my son feel better about not being able to walk."

When I worked at Winco we hired a lady for my department. She would sing church hyms on the floor and showed up late every day. When the managers called her to the office to talk to her about it she called them bullies, pulled a knife and tried to stab multiple people. She was only there for a week.
Worst Walmart was a guy rode his horse in and let it shit everywhere. I'm in Idaho so there were a lot of wannabe cowboys and he didn't understand why we didn't want his horse in the store.

Favorite story, our store was near a major marine base, so one night we had a few drunk marines come in, and one needed to use the stall, which being a neighborhood market, only had one in the men's room, and it was occupied by my coworker. So the pissed off marines rips off one of the mirrors, and tosses across the restroom, then leaves, later getting arrested, due to cameras, and witness testimony.

I work maintenance. You'd rarely see the worst of the worst in the bathrooms but still, it's pretty expected of me to see this but the worst that I had seen was in a family restroom. 1 toilet, 1 sink, a single person restroom. It had a funny smell radiating out of it when you got close enough to the door. Grabbed the stuff needed in case of a cleanup and low and behold, the instant I opened the door I was greeted with the profuse stench of 1000 clogged toilets. Someone smeared their fecal matter all over a single wall of the square restroom that it covered 1/3 of it. it's appearance smeared in a direction that somebody used their bare hand to shove it all across the wall as much as they could, and that smell - OOF! I quickly got out of there and nearly had to puke in the maintenance bucket. The Walmart I work at doesn't usually supply us with gas masks or hazard suits, though I wish they did. The only thing I could find related to a stench protection mask was just those napkins everybody had to use to go out during the Covid crisis. Needless to say I didn't clean up that bathroom. I waited until someone else did it as my stomach would surely make me choke up my lunch that day.

I got a few stories about working at Wal-Mart.
About a year ago there was a couple on the grocery side with their young child that I'd say looked around 6 or 7 years old. Both parents were tripping hard on something and would go crazy when they saw something they wanted to eat. Last i saw them the father was doing jumping jacks and laughing in front of the dunkin donuts next to the deli.
Over by the furniture we had a guy crap down the side of a steel beam that holds the display for tables/chairs. Don't know if it was the same guy or someone else but they ran over the puddle and tracked it from furniture/toys all the way pass electronics in a straight line.
My favorite was on black Friday back in 2017 around 11am. Guy got caught cheating by a woman he was messing with. She saw him with his girlfriend getting food from the deli. At first the two women were arguing, yelling and about to fight then they realized neither of them were to blame. They beat the absolute crap out of him causing the deli to be close for the day so maintenance could mop the area.

The fact that one of the better stories was a woman encouraging her little boy to shoplift... I feel for the guy who runs this channel and has to read these.
Also, not Wal-Mart, but Meijer, and also my dad. Back when Meijer sold hamsters and guinea pigs, there was this one hamster that all the employees really liked. Really playful, really friendly... just all around lovable. One day, this one guy bought the hamster and took it home. Later, he came back with it, demanding a refund because it wasn't healthy. As it turned out, the guy had given this hamster rat poison and was returning it under the pretense that it was sold to him in poor health. I don't remember what happened to the guy (I hope he got charged in some way), but what I do know was that there was nothing anybody could do for the hamster. If I remember correctly, the poor thing ended up dying while being held by one of my dad's coworkers. RIP, little guy. You deserved better.

I used to work at a Walmart that had a bad reputation because of the customers so it was always called “ghetto”. A little kid threw up by the toys, an old lady’s dog shitted on the floor and the old lady proceeded to run it over and made a long trail. A sad experience was when a mother came in the store crying hysterically trying to find her son. She said he was being held by ransom and was told he was spotted at a store but didn’t know which one. Still haven’t heard anything about that after 2 years

He got on the intercom to do his hourly "don't ride bikes in the store its dangerous" spiel, and had to cut off midway through it, as 3 little 5 or 6 year old kids went racing by him on bikes that they found on the racks, with their parents in hot pursuit.

yeah I don't know how they can have that bad of a case of the runs and not say anything, I get the like 3" turds because of opioids plugging them up but come on y'all need to see a doctor if you shit like that, I know my grandma (who is bat shit crazy with dementia and alzimers) can shit like a goose, it is not uncommon for me to be able to hear her shitting her guts out from like 10' outside of the bathroom, when you ask her about it she will say "I only peed" even when you show her the shit stains on the toilet and/or the shit she didn't flush (she forgets to flush a LOT and even when she does remember to flush she NEVER flushes twice even though she makes 2 or 3 flushers every time) she will deny it and claim its someone else, one time my mom was at the BMV (there are no bathrooms in the BMV or any of the other shops in that part of the strip mall) and went inside to do some paperwork (I think she had to get her drivers license renewed) when she came out my grandma was holding a mcnastys cup full of her own liquid shit, she still had shit on her ass and had splattered it on her cloths and the seat, my mom had all the windows rolled all the way down for the ride home and it still stunk BAD when she got back to the house about an hour later, I still am not sure how she managed to shit in a medium drink cup, also a few times she has woke up at like 2 or 3 in the mornin asking "where is the baby?!" "what happened to the baby!?" mind you there hasn't been a baby living here in nearly 2 decades (yeah I was the last baby here, I will turn 20 next month) and it has been years since someone even visited with a baby (I don't think anyone has visited and stayed the night here with a baby), one time back when my father was still alive the crazy chicken woke me up at like 2 in the mornin arguing with my dad, he was trying to help her make coffee (he would get up WAY before daylight, come to think of it he might have been the one who woke her up), she was trying to take the pot out while it was still brewing (we have an old school bunn coffee machine, the kureige is for the camper) this thing takes maybe 5 minutes to brew a full 12 cup pot, of course she couldn't wait for 5 minutes and tries to pull out the pot while the coffee is still brewing and there is a stream of coffee pouring into the pot, my dad tries to stop her before she makes a mess, she gets pissed because heaven forbid she wait 5 minutes to get her coffee, she finally yells "piss on it" then "stick it up yo ass" to my dad, in a moment of old man anger (he was in his mid 60s, my grandma was in her late 70s then) he nearly backhands her (even before she lost her mind with the dementia and alzimers they didn't get along well), this incident woke me up in the bedroom, this happened in the kitchen which is on the other side of the house, this house might have been built in the 1950s but it has plaster walls and is built out of brick... this hose has better sound insulation (but NOT thermal insulation) than most modern houses, its to the point where I can record just fine even though there are simi trucks on the road every minute or 2...

I was at a Walmart one evening and as I was walking across the store the people ahead of me brushed against a clothes rack and knocked stuff onto the floor then just kept walking. I stopped and picked up the clothes up and put them back on the rack. An employee that I didn't know was behind me thanked me so sincerely it made me think about how badly they must get treated usually that he would be so appreciative of something so small. I have worked a lot of retail jobs, but mostly in higher end stores. I try to do my best not to make more work for employees, actually putting back things I changed my mind on etc, because I remember how much putting that stuff away sucks when you just want to go home. I don't think I could deal with the stuff in most of this video.

Worked at Cinemark for abt 6 months. Ovens were broken for the majority of that time, and we weren’t able to get them fixed until around a month before I left. This is why I really appreciated our managers. They were a lot better then expected. After the ovens got fixed, we could finally make pizza for people. A lady ordered a pizza, and my coworker was doing everything right but the oven wasn’t set right or something so the pizza wasn’t cooking right. We tried several times to cook her pizza but I ultimately had to tell her that we weren’t able to make her pizza, but we could refund her and make her something else. She called me pathetic and stormed away. I wasn’t even involved until abt two minutes before speaking with her. Mentioned it to an assistant manager afterwards so they’re aware (I’m required to report negative customer interactions) and then mention it to the GM a bit later on too. GM tells me that next time I need to find him immediately so that he can kick them out. He was pissed about his employee being treated that way. He was great. Another time, a customers card wasn’t going through. I was trying to help troubleshoot it (trying different scanning types, checking our systems, etc.) but it wasn’t working and the systems checked out. He said that it was going through on his side; called an assistant manager over to help. Figured it out - he hadn’t been scanning it correctly so it wasn’t picking it up, and he’d lied about it going through on his end as manager saw it hadn’t. He got angry at us and was cursing us under his breath, pointedly talking about missing his movie, etc. and manager had to look him the eye and say “sir, we are doing the best we can to get you into your movie. Friend worked at Wal-Mart part time in the evenings. An older man came in and was browsing through the mens clothing. After some time had passed someone noticed the older man pleasuring himself and getting his fluids on multiple clothing racks. Store had to remove/destroy every item even if it didn't appear to have fluids on them. Can't remember if cops were called. I know the story was kept quiet because the older gentlemen owned a small computer factory that had contracts to supply city/state and some federal offices with computers and other tech equipment.

well in my grandma's case she has a valid excuse, ever since they removed her gall bladder she has EXPLOSIVE diarrhea EVERY time she takes a shit, like the kind of diarrhea I can hear like she was recording it despite me being like 10 or 15 feet outside the bathroom, she can make a 3 flusher and will only flush once (if at all, she has HORRIBLE dementia and alzimer's, you can tell her something and in 30 seconds she will have no knowledge of what you just told her) then when questioned she will say "I only peed" this happens all the time not just in wall marts. one time my mom was at the BMV (I think she had to get a new driver's license), there are no bathrooms in the BMV or the next 4 places over in that strip mall, it like 500 yards away before you find a public bathroom, my bat shit crazy grandma decides to TAKE A LIQUID SHIT in a mcnastys cup, like full on hershey squirts in that cup, it got all over the car, all over her clothes, it REEKED, even after near an hour ride to the house with all the windows and the sunroof open it still stank, I am not sure how she even shat in that cup because it was a medium, like did she put it in the back of her seat and shit in it that way, did she open the door then set it on the ground then squat and shit (she is in good shape for her age but I doubt she could do that), maybe both these ways are not how she shat in it.

I worked at a walmart for a few months years ago. I was a cashier and helped at the fitting rooms. One day i was the only cashier on the non food side of the store and a lady with her toddler standing in the cart came to my register. While she was paying her little boy randomly let loose the floodgates and honestly the size of the puddle compared to the kids was impressive. Poor mom was apologizing all over herself stating she had tried taking him to the toilet several times.
I reassured her that it was ok as there was only one person behind her and a spill station was right by my register. So i put the grainy powder stuff down to soak up the mess as i signal for a manager and the lady leaves with her items and her toddler.
Then came the one person who had been in line behind this entire time. Lets call her hag.
Hag had somehow managed to miss everything. I tried to stop her from pushing her cart through the now wet matter on the floor and the hag never even looks at me.
The hag just gets her stuff pays and leaves tracking a trail of grainy toddler pee with her because talking to a peasant cashier is beneath her.

I think there should be more (lower) limits on how much you can put on a card without using the pin number in self check out machines though to help stop abuse of stolen cards.

I shudder thinking about the time this old lady pissed herself on a store provided scooter and we didn't even have time to grab it to clean or anything before an old man sat in the piss filled seat with no hesitation.
Not all the stores are piss related, there's the hobo wizard, naked lady with platform crocs, the two furries asking the cart pusher if he wanted to "join in", and that one time we had 3 ambulances, a fire truck, and a handful of cop cars outside the store. Word around the store was a lady had giving birth in the bathrooms. And those are off the top of my head.

Literally Walmart is synonymous for being america's toilet. That's happened a lot more often than not. Many Walmarts allow people to "camp" overnight in their parking lots--or they used to while they were open 24 hours--in either their cars or in recreational vehicles. Plus, the average Walmart shopper's income is low income or limited income. This means they have a higher probability of drug users, violent individuals, or elderly customers. All of which could die or be killed in their vehicle while still in the parking lot.

People get arrested at my Walmart, quite often, and one arrest I saw that sticks with me is when two cops arrested a woman for shoplifting, while they were shopping, they were in uniform, so my guess is that they were buying stuff for the station, one cop came out with her in handcuffs and the other came out with a cart full of supplies and groceries, and loaded them both up in their suv, yes some cop cars are suvs in my city.
Another thing was this time a friendly stray dog was walking around the parking lot going up to people to be pet, that was a fun day.
Another thing that happened was this one time me and a coworker had to crawl into an older, obses woman's minivan to get her chihuahuas so she can pit them in her electric cart basket, she couldn't leave them in her van, because the battery to it was messed up, I'm pretty sure that's what she was there to buy, and it was like 90 something degrees outside. She had five of those adorable little rat dogs.
One time, I found a butt plug on the floor of the men's restroom. I left it alone, but it was gone later, so either the owner came back for it, or maintenance actually touched it and threw it away.
There was also this guy who told me how crashing his motorcycle to avoid hitting a turtle in the road led to him becoming religious and finding God.
A funny little thing that happened during Christmas Eve last year, was this A-hole had parked their suburban so that it took four parking spots, someone wrote the N-word in the dust covered windshield, so that should tell you what other people thought of that.
There was this time a woman got ran over, she was fine, mostly. Apparently the owner of the vehicle didn't put in park, and it had backed over a woman walking behind it, and had gone over the grass separating the parking lot form a McDonald's parking lot. Not sure what happened to the owner of the car.
I've had to fish around under people's trucks to get a stray kitten that had crawled up under there, most of the people that happens to happily take them home, too.
There's a few more, but those are the most memorable.

I didn't work at a Walmart, but at a little family owned grocery store in a small town. There's a group home down the street for mentally handicapped people who can't live on their own. Sometimes, the workers would bring some of the higher functioning residents with when they went shopping. I was a cashier one day, and I was ringing up groceries for one of the workers and a resident. The resident, who was an older male, probably ~60 or so, mumbled something about needing to use the restroom. The worker didn't hear him. He said it again a bit louder. I knew she heard him this time, but she ignored him. Pretty soon he just walks out of the store and I noticed he was leaving a trail of liquid behind him. He had peed himself at the register and tracked it through the front of the store and outside. The worker stepped around it and paid the bill and then left without even saying anything about it. I was mad. Not at the old man who peed himself; I felt bad for him. I was mad at the worker who ignored him and then ignored the fact that he peed on the floor. One of the other cashiers knew the worker's name, so after it had gotten cleaned up, our manager called the group home to complain. We never saw that worker again.

Not Walmart but I was approached by a female employee who used to be a manager at a different store but stepped down whose now working in the grocery department, asking where this particular kind of granola is. I thought this was weird because sure I've helped out there before but that's not my area and she knows a lot more, I look on the program we use to see if any is in the back and I was like "looks like we're out" and she said "yeah, but what do I do?" I know as well as she does to just tell the customer that, so I saw another red flag. I went to the granola aisle with her to confirm there's none on the shelf. there was this old man in there wandering around, apparently the guy who asked about it. I tell him there's none of that specific granola. later that day, the same coworker approaches me and tells me she told him the same thing but had to get me because he "felt better if a gentleman would check." I felt SO disgusted, sick to my stomach. I kicked up a fuss to my other coworkers because I was so outraged and the other men were mad too, and the women (even bosses!) were like "yeah.... that happens a lot." Hands down the worst thing I've seen at work, other than that customers have been pretty nice tbh.

Had one particular Walmart experience I will NEVER forget. I was there shopping a bit, just needed some quick things, and went through self checkout. While I was there, this 70 or 80 something man went to the machine next to me and started ringing his stuff up as well. Nothing unusual in his behavior or his selection, but rather something else. Hanging from his jaw was this massive, indescribable growth roughly the size of a kickball you might see in a school gym. It extended out past his chin and covered the front of his neck entirely like he was a frog holding a long note in a call. As soon as I got home, I washed my hands a few times, and took a very hot shower out of sheer fear that it was some manner of disease, granted I hardly even got close to him, but I wasn't taking any chances...

My daughter works at a Walmart. Someone crapped in the produce department right after she started there. They called it a ‘ghost poo’ because no one saw it happening. Customers got irritated when employees tried to block off the area to keep people from stepping in it & rolling through it while waiting for the maintenance person.

My roommate was a Walmart employee. He worked maintenance and has a lot of stories, but this one was one of the top ones. This one happened in the garden center of his store. A guy was climbing on the shelving and ended up falling from where he climbed and broke his arm to the point where the bone was sticking out and blood was all over the floor where he fell. He and management ended up on cleaning duty after paramedics took the guy.
Honorable mention story of his: This one also happened in garden. The sprinkler system that goes underneath the canopy against the building had a valve blow out and flooded the garden center. Took out electronics that controlled the registers and took several hours of cleanup mopping up the water.

Yeah, I used to work in the deli at a grocery store. One time, as I was going to clock out for the evening, I passed a coworker and said, "Hey, how's it going ,man?"
With a completely deadpan expression and an emotionless voice, he said, "Someone took a sh!t in aisle 6."
I didn't laugh at the time, but every time I think of it, I can't help but laugh🤣🤣

She came in again about a week later to try and do the same thing she almost made it out of the door till cops showed up. She did all this in an isle where you can see yourself in a camera she was looking at it the entire time she did this

I worked in a store here in the UK called The Range. Trust me, crap stories are not just a Walmart thing. They walked through the store, there was a trail, and the one cleaner we had finished at 12. It took hours to clean and the manager refused to close the store, we just had to use whatever we could to block the affected isles, and it took days for the smell to stop lingering. And yes in the other store, one that had a public toilet, I worked at it would be everywhere, the toilets were regularly closed for a deep clean.

My older brother worked at a Walmart years ago, and two things happened (one cool, the other funny):
He met Larry the Cable Guy. It was a chill encounter, nothing too exciting, but it was still pretty neat.
Another time, he was talking with 2 coworkers, and one of them has his shirt buttoned in a way that shows his chest hair.
My bro is like, "Geez, Clark, it looks like you're trying to smuggle in a cat!" His coworkers laugh.
    The next day...
A cat was found wandering around the Garden Dept.
    Gardening Employee: CLARK!!!
(the cat had just wandered in through the outside display, but by far that is one of my bro's funniest stories 😂)
    Hope this made your day.

I worked at a Wal-Mart for a little over a year, and I saw plenty of stuff.
    - People riding the electric carts far beyond the parking lot, across the highway and beyond
    - Someone snuck a giant T-Bone steak out of the store inside the seat cover of an electric cart only to forget it and it sat all day in the hot sun. Found by my coworker hours later and it... stank
    - Bringing a load of carts inside from the parking lot and a cart of electronics was in the vestibule from a guy who got caught trying to walk out with said cart
    - Guy put the largest TV we had on a cart and floors it out the door, nearly knocking over a short female manager in the process. Tried to fit it in the backseat of his red car but it's too big, so he takes off with the back passenger door open and he bumps a customer to the ground before driving away
    - Couple tried unsuccessfully to get cheaper meat products by putting the tags from 1ft x 1ft felt squares over the barcodes of the meat, but they were caught by the self check attendant. Tried to walk out without paying, got stopped by a manager and AP
    - Two ladies fighting in front of self check (never found out why)
    - Women's restroom was always worse then the men's (including #2 in a sink once)
    - I get off the bus for my shift and see an ambulance our front and learned a coworker had a medical episode in the break room
    - Trail of droppings down the main central isle from a dog (I had to deal with it)
    - A bunch of Romanian dudes buys a BB gun from my store and proceed to shoot each other and some tiny targets with it. Me and my coworker are collecting carts when I go over to get a few left between some parking spots. Right as I reach them this high pitched but very quiet air rush noise passes in front of me. I get the carts while my coworker confronts the guys. They berate him and nearly throw a trash can at him. We radio for a manager and one comes out to deal with it. They pretend to have a language barrier and flee. Little do they know the manager not only called the police but was the SAME manager who oversaw the transaction of the BB Gun! To top it off, not only did I give a statement to an officer, but a couple of minutes after the Romanian guys left, we see police cruisers with the lights on at the intersection next to the parking lot. Those idiots got pulled out of their two cars at gunpoint!
Edit: When I was talking to the officer, when I was recalling the events, I thought about the noise that went by my face and memories recalled a long, very thin and pale black streak inches from my face. That was one of the BBs the fired nearly missing my face.

As an employee of the same store for 11 years. I've not had that much crazy stuff occur. Things that have happened are : A group of people in their Twenties Stealing about 7 or 8 expensive dyson vacuums. They got in their car and since I was standing there taking their pictures. They hap hazerdly stuffed everything in and with doors open took off into traffic. Almost getting hit.
During a renovation, an excavator caught fire and filled the store with smoke. They just let everyone shop as normal. Customers and associates did comment on it but accepted it. I went home paler than a ghost due to the smoke.
Was helping out up front at a register when a girl in flip flops who was being spoken to by police and AP tried to run. She got about 20 feet and tripped and fell right across from my register. Everyone up front, customers and associates laughed and giggled as the cop grabbed her and took her to the Ap office.
Edit: Birds are normal due to them getting in through the garden center. There isn't much we can do. I actually find it entertaining when I see them. I did find a dead one once. As for mice and rats. The store I work at probably has them in the back. Though I've never seen them. Again, we can't do much. We can't have traps just lying around due to obvious reasons like children finding them. Children in the bottom carts is not really a problem as much anymore. As for pets, again, this time due to the sensitivity of asking about service animals. We can't do much unless the animal is very badly misbehaved.

I went in once to ask about a job. Hadn't even applied. One of the managers (who knew I hadn't applied) took me to the back to talk to another manager about getting a job there. We went into the break room and she asked me to wait there for a second while she went to find the manager. There was a wasp in the room with me the whole time. And on my way to that room I noticed a mouse scuttling around in the storage area. She came back to get me and took me a little ways back the direction we had come so I could talk to the other manager who was sitting at a computer. The conversation was brief (I barely remember it) but basically it was asking me what kind of position I was looking for and then almost immediately shooting me down by telling me they had no available positions anywhere in the store. Mere seconds after asking me. She hadn't even looked at anything on the computer in that time, so it couldn't have been her looking to see if there was anything available. She knew before she started talking to me there was nothing available for me. I left there double sure I didn't want to work there. I hadn't wanted to work there anyway I just needed a job. But I didn't need money THAT bad. They struck me as very unorganized, unprofessional, and entirely uncaring to their pest problem. The manager that took me to the break room and another employee that was in there noticed and said something about the wasp but did nothing about it. And the other manager entertained talking to me about a job knowing full well there was nothing available. Yeah that was a no from me.
I also knew someone that worked there last year. He worked overnight stocking. He was constantly telling me stories about how entirely disorganized the whole system was and how petty the managers were. They would keep employees that caused major problems and never did their jobs, but fire people that quietly did what they were supposed to just because they slightly messed up once. They took someone who had been fired and rehired three times, never did his job, and was always walking out early because he'd rather smoke a blunt outside than do his job, and they made him a team leader. It was between him, my guy, and some older lady I think. She never did her job either, but she would have been a better choice. That plus a bunch of other crap they were constantly pulling, (just because a couple of the managers hated how he did the job better than they did), the job was just putting so much stress on my guy his mental health was worsening almost every time he went to work. It was seriously draining on him. So he left a few months ago. The only reason he stayed as long as he did was because it payed so well.
Yeah Walmart has never seemed like a good place to work but after recent years of seeing some things firsthand, (plenty more than I described), I wouldn't even dream of passing my application off to that place using a ten foot pole, no matter how in the hole and homeless I am.

I worked for Walmart for about 7 years in the 90's. The worst/nastiest thing I was was a kid with his pants down pooping because his mother wouldn't take him to the bathroom. Actually I take that back, I had an assistant manager page me personally to come up to the snack bar. I when I got up there, she told me to go get a mop and a bucket. I explained to her I wasn't a stockman or maintenance. She told me she called me personally to deal with the problem but wouldn't tell me what it was. She told me to go into the men's bathroom. When I walked it the smell started to make me gag. When I opened the stall door there were piles of feces on the floor, literally all over the toilet (seat, top, etc). It was on the walls too. I walked out and told her I wasn't dealing with it because I would go home sick. She got mad and told me to do it because she wanted me to clean it. I just looked at her and said "fire me, I don't care!" I turned and walked off and went back to my department. A few minutes later she pages the maintenance guy and he went up there because he walked past me. In a matter of minutes he walks past me angry. I stopped him and asked what happened and he said he wasn't cleaning up piles of human $#/+. That assistant manager called every stockman up and they evidently told her the same thing. I think she actually ended up cleaning the men's bathroom. I just remembered she tried to make me feel bad but I never did.

    Wal-mart tale from Janitorial.
I was called to the women's restroom by a woman, not managment or staff.. a customer. She tells me one of the stalls was really messed up. So I asked her how many people are in there. She told me "Just come here" and yanked me into the restroom with two other women waving me in. They all point out the middle women's stall. I opened it carefully thinking the worst. It was not a dead body so yay.
What was in there was random blotches of makeup, gunmetal blue hair, and the overpowering smell of ben gay. I looked at all four walls and it had make up smeared around like somoen hit thier face on the walls repeatedly. I look up in exasperation and saw a vague face of makeup on the god damned ceiling. We have to use an eight foot ladder to reach the ceiling and there was a face imprinted into the tiles. I let out a 'What the fuck?' before starting to apologize and all the women said "We want to know what the everloving fuck happened too!"
I had to get a manager to unlock the tall ladder and she wanted to know why I needed it for clean up. So the ladies grabbed her and dragged her in and pointed up,
    Manager: WHAT THE FUCK?!
Three ladies: We want to know too!
It looked like someone's granny had a seizure and then exploded or got raptured but her makeup didn't make it.

I have, hands down, the craziest Walmart story ever. It's not about the customers though, it's about the employees. A friend of mine works for Walmart and she was scared she was pregnant. I told her to buy a pregnancy test to put her mind at ease. She went to a Walmart out of town to buy it and she used her employee discount. She was only twenty years old and still lived with her parents, so she didn't want to use it at home. She took it to work with her and used it in the bathroom there. It came out negative, thank God. She shoved the used test into the bag she bought it in and threw it in the bathroom trash can. Here's were it goes sideways. The receipt was still in the bag and since she used her employee discount, her name was on the receipt. The custodian found it all and blabbering her personal business to any other employees who would listen. My friend was called into the store manager's office and he asked her tons of personal questions about it. Including if the s-x was consensual! She transferred to a different Walmart as quickly as she could.

Got some inside information about this incident (you can look it up if you want) my husband was working in the deep freezer going about his business when another employee comes screaming at him that there is a fire and to get out and to tell customers to leave on his way out. As he’s leaving he sees smoke coming from the pet department and realizes how serious the situation is and has to literally scream at people to leave, not just call shopping done and go to checkout, but to actually grab their personal belongings and get the fuck out. There was visible smoke in the store and folks were still trying to finish their shopping. Turns out that a man had set a fire in the pet department to create a disturbance while he shoplifted the store. Now here’s the inside scoop you won’t find on the internet, he locked his keys in his car and was trying to find someone to help him out but he was being to “shifty” for anyone to want to help. Instead of just leaving this genius goes to Walmart management for assistance, who kindly turn him over to police and is arrested. They had seen him on security cameras but assumed he fled the scene when they saw him exit the store on camera.(Walmart parking lot security cameras almost never cover the far end of parking) He had been responsible for another fire at a different Walmart nearby so he definitely went to jail for a long time. The Walmart is in Peoria Arizona, I believe their numbers are 3896? Just look up Walmart arson in Peoria AZ, I think there’s even footage of him setting the fire. For anyone that read all of that here’s your reward, I can’t say many details for legal reasons and also for privacy but a coworker at a store I worked at got their arm crushed off (yes crushed off) by a cardboard compactor. I still to this day get random moments where all I can smell for a few minutes is blood and have to remind myself that it’s only my nose having ptsd. I quit a week later when I caught a minor being forced to operate the same cardboard compactor unsupervised

I have a terrible health code violation for you. I worked at my local Walmart for just under 3 years, a couple weeks from the mark. Up front is the customer service desk, you know money orders and returns or exchanges. They used to take back food items fresh and raw. Including meat. On more than one occasion there would be blood on the floor behind the service desk, where everything else was also kept( clothes makeup toys electronics sporting goods everything) because someone handed them raw meat for whatever reason and that’s where it goes until someone from the respective department comes to get it. Occasionally it would fall to the cashiers to put things back if it was slow and we had too many people working up front. But usually every department was extremely understaffed so things just sat for a few days. One day there had been meat back there and it had sat so long that not only did it bleed out but the blood ran under the other shelves and had dried. And our local health department said “that’s not something we handle” when their website said they do. Because yes I called to report it but no one cared. That was pre-pandemic. The store also used to be 24hrs pre-pandemic. Not anymore.

I worked at a Walmart for a few years back in the late 2010's. Hands down one of my worst stories doesn't even involve customers.
There was an older lady who was fired for "leaving work early"
She was carried out of the building on a stretcher for a heart attack.
That's not even the bad part, though.
A few weeks later an even older lady was sitting in the back breathing hard. A few of us asked if she was okay and she assured us she was fine.
After a few minutes of questioning se confessed she wasn't fine but couldn't afford to lose her job. She finished her shift, went home, and died that night from heart issues.
All walmart offered as way of condolences was a signed card to her daughter.
    RIP Maryjane
