Well, you have my attention . deciding on beginners or the bundle with Sketching. Being able to bring vision to paper seamed important to me too. I was told "that's old school" but I love your point about the impression this leaves.

Hi Melise. Personally I prefer to sketch with a pencil and paper (old school) and I can't say I'm familiar with that particular digital design app I'm afraid.

Primarily in the concept design stage in order to get client's approval before any budgeting can take place. That said, you can also sketch throughout the entire process. So both.
2. Do you give them these sketches after the presentation?
The clients usually receive digital copies of the sketches in the presentation.

Thank you :) I use Promarkers because they are cheaper than all the other expensive marker options. Although I think practicing is much more important than the tools you use.

My confusion is: then what do you do with the drawing on the thin tracing paper? Do you have to try and photo copy it is that it prints on regular paper?
I like to keep mine as a digital copy - I scan them with the Canon Lide 220 Scanner and edit (if needed) in Photoshop. I then put them inside the client presentation and print.
I also like to keep the originals in my archive.

Gaz P amazing! - I really like the tracing technique too. You can also use it when clients change their mind or need design updates. I sometimes trace an actual photo of the interior (if it’s an existing house) - it makes it easier to catch the right proportions. Good to hear the colouring tip was useful. Thanks for subscribing.

Both! Although I always start with sketching. Clients are much more impressed and feel that they've paid for something special and truly artistic. I only use renders in the later stages of the design process when a lot of elements are pre-agreed with the client. Because everyone has got used to computer drawings and 3D renders - it doesn’t impress clients or employers anymore. Clients know that they can go to a kitchen company or a tiles shop and get the full 3D model for free.
