Very great stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed all of this information and how magnificent it appears in implementing into a wonderful exercise routine. Thanks for the video
The first and only time I did a pike pushup, my right clavicle dislocated and the sternum. This is effectively a permanent injury and my shoulder has never been the same. Better to do should presses, where you start from the bottom of the motion, rather than beginning from an extended position as per the pike pushup.
To progress with your pike pushups you should first and foremost elevate your hands so your head doesn't get in the way of preforming the full range of motion for this movement. Once you got that down you can start worrying about where your feet are.
@ I got tired of being out of shape. So 3 or 4 weeks ago I started working out. When I first started I couldn’t even do 5 pushups. Now I’m doing 50 at a time and 200 a day. And now I started archer pushups yesterday.
Did diamond push-ups in high school wrestling practice in the late 70s. Scott Sonon has been doing the Spider-Man pushups in his programs, and as well as various pike pushups. Probably came out around the early 2000s
in few months brought to 200/day, every single day, as a result, my elbows and shoulders hurt, it was a mistake not to have rest days, it hurts for almost 4-6 months and I have to start from scratch now, being more careful. age makes us rest more than 30 years ago.
Love that thumbnail!👌 It definitely got my attention, but I wouldn't say "NOBODY" does these push-up variations. More accurately, the vast majority doesn't do them.
Nice and usefulk, extra point for advising the easier version at first. Those Spider man pushabs ca also be done inclined to a vertical surface, like wals. Best regards Paul.69
We did push up with crouching tiger positon in Kung Fu. Place palms on floor with forearms vertical to floor, lower chest to floor and move head forward to as dar and low as it goes, then raise hip backward and up as far as it goes. Advance technique is to place first 3 finger tips on each hand for steel grip.
I'd suggest doing regular push ups, lightweight dumbbell shoulder pressing if you have access to weights, and add in some planks. Should build up all of the muscles that are needed to be strong for pike push ups! Let me know if that helps
I do 8 variations of push-ups, 30 reps each, but because I can't do all of the 30 for each variation in one go a lot of times I'll end up doing 34, 36, 38, 40, or 42 total for about 5 or 6 of the variations. I started with 8 variations and only 4 reps each and went up incrementally from there. Regular, wide-grip, Hindu/Dive Bombers, Diamond, feet elevated on bigger ball, Pike, Spiders, and hands offset.
I think there is another variation of the Pike push-ups. I seen a friend did it a long time ago and I used to do it but stopped. My L4/L5 is freaking me out. Stand with the knees straight Take three hand length from toes And start the push-up motion - There is another type I used to do - like the regular push up but you go down in a roll-up and come down in a reverse.
I thought that the MT push-up was done with feet a bit further up the wall, forcing you to apply enormous back force with the arms to avoid sliding down.
You dont need diamond pushups just have your arms parallel with your chest and it has the same results the diamond pushup just strains your wrist for no reason
@marcd1981 he is saying that this workout works 60% of your muscles while this other works 90% Where is he getting these percentages and how? And are they accurate? That's what I'm asking
@@lcameeno1 Oh, okay, thanks. That was what I commented on, the accuracy, because when the voice-over said internal chest muscles while the video was pointing to the outer chest muscles when talking about the Diamond push-ups.
Thanks for the video. I've always used push-ups in some variation in my workouts, either warming up, or as the workout itself. Something to watch for when posting these voice-over videos is matching what is shown on screen and what the voice-over is saying. For the Diamond push-ups, the voice over stated it works your triceps as well as inner chest muscles. However, the arrow was pointing to the outer chest muscles as this was being described.
