  • #thiebouyapp #jollofrice The fight over Jollof still continues! but the Senegambia Jollof speaks for itself! if you don't believe me just try it out....
    Ingredients;
    this can be cooked for 6-8 people
    4 cups of rice-cups measures 350ml
    2.2 liters of water
    Nokoss seasoning; Ingredients to blend;
    Garlic
    Bayleaves
    Black-pepper
    Springonions
    Basil
    Parsley
    Bellpeppers
    1 onion
    Oregano
    Scotchbonnet pepper.
    For the caramelisation ;
    1onion
    1 bellpeper
    250g of tomatoe puree
    150g of tomatoe plums
    yate(caremalized snail)
    For the special seafood salsa sauce/Sauce Diaga
    4 onion
    1 tablespoon of garlic
    tiger prawns
    Tamarind
    lemongrass
    spring onion
    scotchbonnet pepper
    maggie
    and scotch bonnet pepper,
    1.first caramelized the tomatoe paste and the chopped onions with the bellpepper.
    2.Caramelized to a golden dark red colour, add the yate then add the lamb as well
    3.Once you get the desired colour and consistency as shown in the video we then add the 2.2 litres of water.
    4. This is where we add vegetables of your choice and the nokoss, i wanted to add mne last, thats why.
    5.Finally we add the rice to the broth after leaving it to boil until we are satisfied.
    6.Cook the rice to perfection and our Benachin/Thiebou Yapp is done.
    Le combat pour Jollof continue toujours ! mais le Sénégambie Jollof parle de lui-même ! si vous ne me croyez pas, essayez-le....

    An Arab here. This looks like a dish we have called Kabsa. I tried your recipe as it is when I tried it the first time, it was unbelievably delicious. The next time, I used your recipe and replaced the rice with basmati rice. Your recipe has taken my Kabsa dish to a whole new level. I’m all here to admire African cuisine and flavors. You guys are the best!

    Eventhough I don't eat meat, this looks very nice and delicious. Growing up, my mom used add loads of black pepper cloves (not the powdered one) to make it even more spicy. Our household loves spicy food. With the black eyed beans though I'm sure you can feed a village! It is very heavy.

    Thank you, sister. Liked your video. My only remark is that you seem to talk alot the the Wolof speakers. You should talk more to us, the Enlgish speakers. The Wolof speakers should know how to cook this already. The second thing is, tell us "I fried this for about 5 minutes, 10 minutes" That would give us an idea. I loved your video, keep it up!

      I appreciate your efforts, but I feel compelled to follow my ancestors' path, and I believe the extra elements are unnecessary. I understand criticism is part of the game, but if you prefer to avoid it, consider keeping videos off TH-cam.
      How about that ?
