I left my shovel by the fence at the spot before centennial. Great camp site. Glad you had fun here, thanks for not giving exact details on camp spots we all appreciate it.
It was awesome! And no problem. The Wyoming BDR maps are readily accessible but the fun is in exploring and finding your own spots anyways. Sorry about your shovel! :D
Fletcher, love the content. Im so glad i found your channel 2 months ago. Ive had my 24 D41 P4X since the end of Feb and love it. You're content is inspiring and a testiment to what the D41 can do. I look forward to your content and am excited to eventually get into overlanding my D41 in the future.
Thanks so much and welcome to the Nissan family! These D41's are great trucks for the money and I plan to have mine for a long time, so lots more content to come!
There’s a route I wash would have been added to the bdr. It’s called the Hazelton Loop. It’s south of Kaycee, Wyoming and goes north into the big horns. It’s a 100 mile route with beautiful scenery including back door access to where Jesse James and the Younger brothers used to hang out. It’s an absolutely beautiful drive.
I was up in The Bighorns August 3-7. It rained (and snowed) pretty much the whole time. We managed to do parts of the BDR in an Outback. The worst thing was the big rigs towing huge RVs. No way they were getting out anytime soon!
Thanks for the great video and all the good info . I plan on doing the Wyoming BDR sometime before fall this year. Not trying to be a no it all, but I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota if you ever come out here and do disperse camping again I noticed in the video y’all had a campfire. You got really lucky they’re not allowed that’s a pretty big ticket. You gotta have a propane fire pit. campfires are only allowed at paid campsites. All these rules are plainly stated on the MVUM map which you have to have with you in addition to the $25 trail permit….. Just like all the other tourist, come out here and think the rules don’t apply…lol… just kidding Thanks again for all the good videos
Thanks! I definitely pick different music than most of the Overlanding channels out there, but I'm not really into country or ambient stuff, haha. Appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching!
Wow that was awesome!!! What was your total mileage door to door? When you return home do you have your alignment checked? I admire Moose for taking his baby, thanks for taking us along Fletch
Thanks! It was around 5K miles all said and done. I had 2500 on the truck when I started and right around 7500 when I got home. And their baby was amazing! Still surprised how well behaved she was. Thanks for watching!
I admire your flexibility finding campsites on the fly as necessary. What approach are you taking for that - staring at GAIA maps (overland layer?) or something else?
Luckily, on this trip, Patrick in the Subaru was in charge of finding and picking sites and he basically pre-scouted using Gaia and some online research of the BDR (plus you can purchase a physical map and download digital versions of the BDR that is pretty helpful and has a lot of good info on it: ridebdr.com/WYBDR/). So, before going, he had a bunch of ideas and then we just decided midday how far we wanted to drive and approximately when we wanted to get to camp and selected a spot along the route based on that. Sometimes it took some exploration to find something but most of the time, it wasn't hard to find a spot.
Thanks! The truck did great and with the new features on the new body style trucks it was a pretty pleasant ride out there from the Midwest. I’ve probably had 12 or 13 Nissans over the last 20 years and I’ve had really good luck with them so I’ve kind of just always stuck with Nissans. Super simple to work on and very inexpensive to do maintenance for. If buying them used there is a lot of depreciation versus a Toyota so you can get a much better deal on a used vehicle.
I think I could do the vast majority of it. Section 4 had some off camber stuff that might make me a little nervous with that high of a center of gravity, but aside from that everything was pretty doable in a van.
Great video and learn few things from it, I'm planning to go there with few vehicles and I'm from Illinois, so this part of BDR Wyoming took you 2 weeks?
He led the way the entire trip and it performed impressively. He had everything he needed for the two week trip and was relying on his vehicle so I’d call that overlanding.
@@AllThingsOverlanding I’m live in Wyoming, When I see a 4 runner with 50k worth of gear tied on it just to go down a ranch road with Iowa tags, I wish we had a gate.
Such a long wait!
Ha! Only took me about 4 years of doing this to actually make a movie so I guess the wait is pretty long, 😀.
It will be worth it I'm sure lol

I have been out west a few times when i was younger and loved it. I want to take my family out there and share with them the Awesomeness of the West.
It was so beautiful out there, and I loved every second of it. Can’t wait to get back out west!

Headed to Wyoming this summer. Doing route planning now. Thanks for the great video!
No problem! Thank you!
Awesome video, It's on my bucket list now.

Very nice documentation on the BDR. Thanks for respecting the locals (cows).
They were delightful and a lot of fun and thanks!

Thank you and I'm jeaous, :D. It was so beautiful up there!

Thank you for posting your adventure, I will definitely check out this area for my next trip out west.

Amazing video my friend!!
Thanks a lot!
Pumped!

Great video! Worth the wait. Keep the adventures rolling!
Appreciate it and will do!
Great content! As Fletch would say “it was SUPER Cool”. Thumbs way up!
Thanks buddy, 😀.
Southern Indiana native checking in! Sellersburg but now Tampa Florida as of 3 months ago! Love the channel!
Hey! Thanks so much and enjoy that weather, :D.
Great job Fletch..!
Thanks so much!
Awesome scenery, thanks for sharing this trip with us!
Happy to. Thanks for watching!
I hate long videos, but watched the entire video. A+++++++.
Hey! Thanks so much! I’m the same way so I tried to keep it moving. Thanks for watching!
So cool! I dream of being able to do a trip like that.
It was amazing. Definitely recommend it if you can get out for that long of a period of time!
Great job enjoyed watching it well done
Thank you!

Nice! It's so beautiful out there and I was sad to not hit the last couple of parts of the BDR.
I love my state! I’ve seen so much but I’ve not seen anything yet.
I'd love to move there. It was amazing!

Thanks! And we had no idea. There was a well established (and used) fire pit. Will definitely look into it though and appreciate the heads up!
@@AllThingsOverlanding No problem. Yeah they get pretty picky out here. More so about camp fires than the trail permit.
Nice trip! Great video! Unsure of the music... Look forward to more of your videos.

enjoyed he video I love Wyoming as well as Colorado were I live Do you know where the ranger driver got that neat graphic?
Thanks! I believe he and the Subaru driver had them made by a local vinyl shop before the trip.
Thanks for the travelogue, now I won't need to go there. Looks great watching on tv.

Would a sprinter van be OK for this trail?

Yep, including travel from IN so we were on the BDR itself for maybe 7 or 8 days including our excursion to the Tetons.
Lost me at Subaru. lol that guys just camping

I’m honestly not even sure what you’re saying here.
