Thanks for the review, but holy hell, such loud music in between the talking! 😂
Yes I messed up with the volume big time. I apologize about that. Cheers.
I like the fact that you at least don’t need two different fuel sources. You already run diesel in the Jeep win win 👍🏼
Heck ya! I fill up a jerry can, fill the diesel heater and dump the rest in the truck before heading home. Works out well.
Please stop with the annoying background music.
no
@@UnwindingRoads😂😂👌🏽
Your annoying so stop commenting!! 😮
Your loss. That music made me turn off after a couple of seconds. You do an effort in making these videos.. I would suggest you listen to the viewers..
@@MathiasDavidsen not my loss at all. This is one of the most popular videos for the vevor diesel heater. It's my channel I make the videos the way I want. You don't have to watch. You're not my boss. Settle down. I don't owe you anything. Appreciate the comment though.
It makes sense that the tank would need to vent. But there’s also the need to not spill while off-road.
I'm thinking just loosen the cap..... Up close it looks like it's supposed to vent. Looks like there's a valve but it's not working.
@@UnwindingRoads maybe drill 1 or 2 tiny holes in the cap then put some cloth on the inside to keep it from splashing out.
Note sure you’d be using the heater while driving off road.
Tight the cap when not in use, loosen for venting purposes, when in use.
I just picked up with one of these on Amazon for $89 my buddy has one that he uses in his house and it works great
Really happy with mine so far! Hope you have a great experience with yours. Cheers.
Thank you brother will be getting one for my 27 ft yacht
They're great! Highly recommend.
Also, the tanks will collapse like that when you get to a higher altitude and vice versa if you drive in the mountains with a full tank of fuel is a good chance it’s gonna try to push some of it out, so keep that in mind maybe fill it up when you get to where you’re going Travel with the cap slightly unscrewed so that it breathes
Makes sense!
I bought this unit as im excited to use it
But i thought this runs off 15amp?
I actually got a 120ac to 12v dc converter to run off my bluetti because i thought the 12v 10a wasnt suffecient enough for at least startup
I learned the hard way
All the accessory plugs i got werent rated for 10amps so i kept blowing fuses lol
Hopefully the converter works well with no issues
You're right!! Sometimes the 10amp isn't enough of its really cold.... I think you'll be ok with your setup
Let's hope so! And just subbed
Keep it up!
@@ohhailkingbobby1073 cheers! Thank you! Catch you on the next one!
Why do people got to put this very loud music in the background? Ok I'm listening, oh boy, my ears. OK, stop video, I'm not going to up and down the volume the whole time. There are other videos on Vevor.
Ya I made a mistake with the volume. Sorry about that!
How loud to you need the music to be... why even have music.
Accidentally had it way too loud. But I like music
VEVOR MAKES GOOD HEATERS. Never had an issue with mine. Great video.🎉
Thank you! It hasn't let me down yet. I just unscrew the cap a little now to let some air in. Problem solved!
You don't show where you install the heater in your tent and where you put the exhaust pipe not to get intoxicated with carbon monoxyde.
@@danielp.52 I just run the inlet in. Exhaust points down amd sideways towards the ground.
Would help to know how to start it. And yah, music is terrible.
@@bearbait2517 press the power button. Music is a personal thing. 2 things that I thought were pretty well known. Cheers.
Obnoxious music
Obnoxious comment 😂
Can you start it in the morning without getting out of your tent ? thanks for any help
@@HummerH-mo4cs yes you can. It comes with a remote. Or you can use the app
The fuel tanks leak around the lid lots of times off-road and the smell of diesel in a vehicle or camper sucks. Changed mine to a rotopax knock off on Amazon with a little pickup through the lid and it's been great.
These things are amazing one you get them dialed in and they don't try to kill you in your sleep like your buddy
the buddy would make my wedge tent drip with condensation lol i never liked the buddy heater with it's open flame
Mine will be in tomorrow so I'm exciting about trying it in my standy camper. My question is, is it weather proof? Can I mount it outside and pipe the heat inside?
I don't see why not. Everything is pretty sealed up. One thing I forgot to mention is the shut down sequence it goes through. Just press the power button and let it do its thing. Takes about 2 minutes for it to shut down properly.
Everything? You covered very little
You must have missed the part that says you NEED to know. You couldn't even get through the title before making a dumb comment?
@UnwindingRoads the exhaust position is definitely a need to know
@UnwindingRoads also didn't mention the shut down which is pretty important
Great video
@@SpencerHogg cheers! thank you for watching it!
can you use it in your garage with 120 volts
Yes just have to exhaust it outside. Or run it outside and just have the air coming in.
How did you connect the power plug to the wires
It comes with bare wires. Just solder to any type of plug you want. It also comes with the fuse already attached.
hi there.
i've ordered one for my garage. my concern is the smell of diesel fumes. how is the odor in the garage? Any diesel fumes?
People run them in their garage, you'll have to put a hole some where for the exhaust. Or, run it outside and run the hot air hose inside. There will be exhaust fumes if you don't and that's dangerous
I would keep the unit outside just for safety purposes
There's no thermostat, right? If you wake up at night and it's too hot/cold, you have to use the remote?
You can easily add a thermostat to it. But I wouldn't recommend it. I think the off and on might wake you up. You can use the remote or phone to set how much heat comes in. And just leave it on. But yes you can add a thermostat.
Great video. Im looking at getting one in the spring. Im actually going to subscribe to this channel now. Simply because of the one viewers remark, and your answer. Keepin it real. Thanks again
Hahahaha thank you!
Nothing like diesel heater white noise to set yourself to sleep
So peaceful
Great vid on heater. Mine came in today. Can’t wait to be twinning with Teddy on my heater too. Lol
Hahaha twinning with Teddy!
The cold made the tank suck in like that.
Hey I'm my heater is turning off and showing u055 over and over. I saw this happen on your 1st start. How did you get passed this?
When I turn mine on it says that for about 2 seconds and then goes to the main screen. I'm no expert but do you have enough power going to it? If so, check to see if you have suction like my tank. Maybe loosen the cap and try again? Keep me posted
Hi Teddy, Fuel Tank needs a vent. Very tiny hole 1/16 on the fill cap would do it.
It comes with one but, it doesn't work 😂
I’m just here for the comment section now.
However ,I will like and subscribe just because of @or2ak’ s whiny comments.Cheers mate..
Hahaha cheers. I do get it. The music was too loud. My mistake. There were a couple of comments addressing that and I fully respect that and I consider that constructive criticism. His comment was not constructive at all. Just criticising! Appreciate your comment. All the best!
Great review. Good heater. I’m biased…I own the same! The muffler won’t cause issues.
Good to know!!! Have you had any issues with yours?
Start heater 😂😢in Chinese...
Do you need to have the battery pack connected after it is already started ?
@@TaeKenDo yes you do. But it uses very little power.
What is that cable you use to connect it to your power bank?
That's a 12v cigarette plug. Got it at the local store.
Do you remember the exact dimensions of the adapter's you used for the hose?
it was a 3 inch to 4 inch duct adapter. Local hardware store will have it.
I think I would cut down the exhaust hose where it goes onto it and start that turn a little sooner because that is a design flaw. You shouldn’t have to put two by fours under it to make it work. It comes with it with the feet. It has then that they would’ve made the feet taller. Anyways, and as far as the ticking goes almost every heater that is made that has combustion that heats it up will take like that just like your car when you get home from the market, just like your wall heater in the house.
Very good points. Thank you.
Love the music! lol. One thing I cannot find is recommended size heater for different applications. I have a 16 foot white duck regatta tent. I would love to know from experienced users what size you’d recommend.
The 5kw and the 8kw apparently are pretty much the same. How cold does it get where you'll be using that tent?
@@UnwindingRoads it can drop down in the 20’s. Normally it’s 30-40’s Fahrenheit. Tennessee and Kentucky in November.
@@FishHuntDive I think you'll be ok! Have you thought about a portable wood stove? It might be a better option. I used my diesel heater in a 10x10 ez up tent when it was below freezing. It warmed it up a little but not enough to be wearing a t'shirt in there. Definitely more comfortable than outside.
@@UnwindingRoadsoh yeah I have a winterwell stove I’ve been using the last two years. It just eats up the wood! I have played with it and have it as efficient as I think I can get it and I’m lucky to get 3-4 hours out of seasoned oak before it’s just coals and I have to reload. I’m a heavy sleeper and I don’t wake up to do that most of the time. I am trying to find a way to have a steady heat source without burning propane to keep the humidity down in the tent. I was hoping this would be a good solution for when I get tired of the stove lol
@@FishHuntDive if you point the heat towards you, it will be more than enough for sure. I have no doubt about that.
Is it made in China if it is no thanks
It is. Everything is. The device you made your comment on probably is as well.
Wow great idea with the strap, ill do that. Oh wait dont want to crush my tank lol
Lol I've since switched to a ratchet strap and gotter good and tight. Pre crushed my tank so I don't even notice the vacuum anymore. Works way better. Highly recommend. Side benefit, it costs half as much to fill up now!
I use kerosene and used motor oil in mine. I installed a lawn tractor fuel filter on it. 3parts kero to 1 part used motor oil.
That sounds very interesting!
Vevor says kerosene is NOT recommended because its burning temperature is too high.
what was all that knocking noise?
That's the fuel pump. That ticking runs constant. Drives some people nuts. Others don't really hear it. I notice it but don't mind it at all. White noise to me. I hear the fan more.
@@UnwindingRoads thank you for the quick reply. I can deal with ticking just not banging or knocking....
Question, why would one buy this over a simple electric space heater since this requires both diesel AND electricity vs. An electric space heater thag only requires electricity?
The space heater uses waaaaay more electricity. I have a very small space heater that uses 120w. It's enough to keep my tent not freezing. The diesel heater uses about 12w and produces way more hot air. Granted it also takes about a liter or 2 of diesel to do the job. A 1000w battery will run my space heater for about 8 hours and then need to be charged up for the next night. I can pack 20 liters of diesel and my battery can run the diesel heater for 4 days straight. Probably a week at night time only.
@@UnwindingRoads Awesome! Thanks for the explanation.
Wonder if the exhaust is long enough.. do they sell extensions any idea ?
Amazon has longer exhaust pipes. I was also thinking of getting the tire table and pointing the exhaust straight down....
My vevor cap has a little hole in the top. I made the mistake of plugging it one time and mine collapsed too. Luckily that heater died and I needed to order anyways lol 🤷♂️
mine also has a hole on top. with some rubber on the inside. It looks like it should vent but it isn't lol
@@UnwindingRoads yeah I removed that on my new one. It appears like it’s supposed to stop leaks and somehow allow venting but it doesn’t at all. I made a tub with a cover that I keep mine in. Wrap it with a tarp when traveling. Best I could come up with since it’s in my Jeep.
There’s no “y” sound in the middle of Bluetti. It’s blue etty.
Oh great. Now you tell me!! Lol noted.
I just got mine and I can’t make heads or tails of the instructions. It says to press buttons that don’t exist. Is there any place I can find clear instructions?
The instructions are really hard to understand. Basically, once it's all together. I literally just pressed the on button and waited. Took about 3 minutes before I heard the pump going. Also don't forget to hit the power button to turn off and let it do its shutdown thing. Takes about 3 minutes as well to shut down.
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Very nice video
Thank you! We do quite a few adventures as well as these product reviews. I hope you enjoy.
Do you need to have a cigarette lighter on your battery pack? Or does it adapt to connect to a Dakota lithium battery with allagator clamps or anything?
It comes with just a positive and negative wire to hook it up however you like. Easy!
@@UnwindingRoadshow did you hook yours up with cigarette lighter
That fuel line is way to close to the hot exhaust
It is? The exhaust comes out the very bottom. The green line is the fuel line way up top. What am I missing? Should I re-route the fuel line?
@@UnwindingRoads 2:08 The green fuel line is right beside the exhaust isnt it? Even if it doesn't melt the fuel line the heat cycling wont be good for it.
@@UnwindingRoads Not sure what the solution would be?
@@GoldCountryTrapping yup you're right. It goes towards the air in side. I'll definitely keep an eye on it see how hot it gets there. Thank you!
@ 2:30 that green fuel line looks awful close to the exhaust?
Doesn't the exhaust get extremely hot?
It does get hot. But the line goes towards the intake side. Something I'm keeping an eye on. So far it's been fine......
Nice, about the tank just make a 1/4 inch hole and add a vent plug on and off
Boooom that sounds easy enough! Thank you!
Eerything - I need to get an extension cable for my Vevor Portable Heater, but the small plug is bewildering me as I can't find a pre made cable so intend to make one. What is is that plug called.
I just used a cigarette style dc plug replacement. Found at the local hardware store.
@@UnwindingRoads That is incredible that you managed to connect a cigerette style plug to a mini Molex style connector to extend the controller cable?
I think you have no idea what my question is. I think you neeed to remove your controller, pull the cable from the body, finf the little black connector and then re-answer the question when you understand the facts.
@@rogerp53 you're right. I have no idea what you're taking about. I thought you were talking about what I use to plug it into a power source. Not sure what you would have to do to extend the controller. I just use my remote if the unit is out of reach.
@@rogerp53 sounds like you need to make your own Video and show how it's done............😊
Mine collapsed as well, I just drilled a tiny hole in the top of the cap
@@dannidaymitchell613 does it leak during transport? I just unscrew the cap a bit now when I use it.
@@UnwindingRoads I’m permanently parked so I don’t have to worry about it.
Can you sleep right next to it with the sound?
You can hear the ticking of the pump and the fan. I don't mind the sound. It's white noise.
Did you have to prime the fuel or did it do it automatically when you started up
It did it automatically. Took about 2 minutes. I literally just turned it on.
can you extend the exhaust hose without issue. I would like to reuse a pellet stove vent I already have through the wall. My thought is to bring the unit in door set on the floor but my hole is 4 feet off the ground that goes through my wall. Any thoughts on just extending the exhaust
You can buy longer exhaust very cheap on amazon. You want the exhaust pointing down, not up. The soot will back up if it has to go uphill..... Like water.
@@UnwindingRoads thanks for the response. Wow that’s kinda crazy that it would plug up with soot like that but thank you for letting me know.
Looks the same as all the other heaters out there.
I don't know enough about the internals or anything. Maybe it's the same. I think this is the better option in the Chinese heater world. People have said they've had others but vevor is better.

How well does it control the temperature in the tent? Does it keep it within a couple of degrees, or does the temp swing like 10 degrees before it turns on again? (Celsius degrees lol)
I've never actually tried.... I don't know how it would know the temp inside the tent. I heard it's just better to have it run constantly and open windows if needed. That's the problem with the RV heater, is it wakes me up when it starts up again.
@@UnwindingRoads ohhhhh. I misunderstood. I thought it had a feature to automatically turn on and off to regulate the temperature inside of the tent. My bad.
