The pledge system for troops and borders is so fundamentally broken. Not only are your troops within your borders, but you *just* asked for open borders. Open border agreements should invalidate the troop request, in my opinion.
I thought my friend was joking when he said there's a Sid Meier difficulty back at the end of June. A couple days later I realized it was an update to Deity++ and I've been loving it, the game's so challenging but so rewarding now.
Also, Ursa sneakily actually playing "multiplayer meta reaction (given spawn, and barb And multiple other civ proximity to initial spawn which would almost never happen in bbg) very early defense (pretty rare in MP FFA) into a Harbors, Not campus opener" strat.
This is quite an accurate "reimagining" of a Spain TSL on a continents and islands map. Cramped by other civilizations and needing to retreat to the sea to become an empire.
Damn, can't wait to see how Ursa gets out of this particular snafu. 80 turns in he's only got ~30 science meanwhile Ethiopia to his east has Man at Arms. It's gonna be tough!
I have to say even though I'm not color blind at all and I frequently snobbishly tell the chromatically challenged go screw, Civ 6 DOES do things with the color schemes of civs, religions, and sometimes even continents that make my head implode on itself. They really didn't seem to employ a graphic designer who is well versed in the art of balancing generated palettes and tones that harmonize in visually readable sets but are still distinct from others that need to be contrasted for players. The revision they did throw in and adding some garish alternatives mid releases didn't fix much, and I don't like the alternative palettes available in popular mods either. For Civ 7, they really just need to have a skilled graphic designer create the "uniforms" of all the games' layers, the ones whicn denote borders or influences, witn an eye for updates which would just spread out the pinpoints on the color wheel for new additions. There's no reason to have those two green religions that are SO close, and no reason to have so many default yellow civs that barely have a difference in them. None of them skew orangey amber or greenish lemon, they're all just in the middle yellows with only subtly different intensities. There's also no reason they couldn't also have colorblind modes! Firaxis please make me your colorist 😊
The game asks the player to pick cards before picking the next culture tech, but knowing how many turns you'll have the cards would be helpful. As a result, the player often picks a card they won't be using immediately, get no use from the card, and a 2-turn civic rolls over. If the player knew they'd only hold the cards for two turns they might take another card of the settler card, for example, which happens a lot here. Hey Sid, switch the order of government cards and culture / tech choices, and please change the order of support/generals and military units, too.
After watching the Australia series and now this I thought I'd give this difficulty a try. To be safe I picked Hungary, as they are one of the best civilizations and quite consistent thanks to an amazing spawn bias. To make it short: first settler died in a forest fire, no iron unless I kill someone and city states aren't easy to hold even as Hungary when the AI has twice the amount of civics you have. I still think I can win my game but being stuck on 4 cities at turn 70 after investing into a great general that I can't use due to lack of iron is harsh.
£639 - Stephen Strange should've visited the Titan campus of the University of Sankore. If he had, he'd have been able to see the victorious endings where he died, in addition to the one victorious ending in which he didn't.
You DEFINITELY deserve the rest after this one, holy. What a great watch though, super fun to watch you make good decisions despite the pressure!
Thanks so much = )

Finding someone south of Australia? Unlikely.
Kupe is always a possibility, anywhere!
My God, what s nail biter! I have never seen such a dramatic Civ 6 video. Even if you lose this game, I think you proved your mettle.
Thanks so much!!

That's such a good way of putting it! Yes open borders should give you a free pass
This mechanic has ALWAYS bothered me in the game, it never made any sense at all

NGL, I'm enjoying watching you struggle. You're just too good.
This has been the most enjoyable series by far. Watching you struggle (no offence) brings us all great joy
Really keep the deity level to this
Haha, thank you!
Wow... wow... I was literally almost out of breath when you secured that Golden Age...
I was quite proud of that one = )
How did that "war of unescorted settler" go so well
Absolute blinding committment to stupidity = )
These extreme difficulty games are something else :) These are like the Rocky films in Civ 6 format :) Love these!
I'm glad you're enjoying!!
When you locked in the campus, it was already at 122 prod needed.
doh!
@@UrsaRyan it was the harbor that was 97 production, which you saw as you swapped in the campus and must have remembered that number instead :)

I'm really enjoying it I must say!!
That golden age was so clutch. New subscriber but quickly catching up on all your videos!
Hooked on to this series! 😂❤ Can't wait to see what happens next
Man that was up there for your golden age trickery 😂
Ursa truly is the master of golden ages.
I do my best = )
Phew! Staying alive! One of the more crazy starts.
That golden age salvage... Someone should make a custom civ round your ability to pull these out of the bag 😉
What you said about map pins made me think "can I use them as a misdirection tool vs. the computer?"
I swear you could XD
Well that was a nail-biting finale!
My fingers are gone!

Crazy to see struggle in a Spain game
That was perhaps the greatest Golden Age steal I have ever seen
One of my better ones = )
epic golden age chase!

At least you only need a little iron - the ai on this level should have some to trade!
this is pretty rough lol

why didn't you move to block the next Ethiopian settler from disembarking onto the peninsular
Because if they did settle, in all likehood I'd grab the city eventually through loyalty - so it was a gamble I was willing to make!!

Did you leave the four gold harbour on one turn?
"I'm going to end the turn and have a bit of a lie down." And then the video kept going. Do you have a minimum run-time requirement or something?
