From my experience, those hades & polymags open up & do more destruction 25 yards and under. Those hades will open up then, in 25cal and 30cal from my experience..polymags dumps the most energy , I dropped turkeys 🦃 easy at 30 yards with the polymags and jsb 44g, hades they always run abt 10/15 yards unless I'm 25 yards n under then it's lights out ...great video
This test needed to have the Zan's 41gr in .25 or 40gr in .22 and H&N heavy slugs 40 to 46gr in .25 or 40gr in .22 (which aside from being heavier have a softer lead formula) and maybe even FX Hybrids - the 3 of those are known to open up the widest. NSA's are actually a harder lead formula I was suprised to see them open as much as they did.
We will definitely try additional slugs. The FX hybrids have never been my most accurate though. The H&N and NSA have proven more accurate for us, therefore the ones we tested first.
With my 60ft lbs gun I'm shooting the zan 28gr at 1000fps and they are my go to, completely explode on impact to even with the smallest game I don't get over penetration
@tatsuhirosatou5513 ZAN is the one slug I haven’t got my hands on yet to try. I hear great things, but just haven’t found them or purchased them….. yet. Great comment and thanks for your support and feedback.
@@bowmanoutdoors If you want to get a great price on Zan Slugs order from Krale. Krale is THE BEST retailer in the game! yes it is in Europe so shipping is $20 but each box of slugs will be like $5 less so it cancelled itself out. The package will get here FASTER than anywhere in the US, I shit you not!!! Krale is the BOMB!!!! (I have no ties to them, I just love promoting companies that do it the right way EVERY time!)
@bowmanoutdoors I get them on pyramid air, I haven't shit the heavy yet but the .25 26.5gr and 28grs have great explosive fragmentation like a true varmint hollowpoint at 1000fps. Hatsune Apolo 40grs are awesome too for the money I have a dealer account so I get the 200 count tins for $7 whole sale
Good review One of the best "Slugs" pellets are the ZAN projectiles!. Extremely precise!! Tested against h&n slug. The ZAN projectiles were much more consistent and had tighter impacts!. On the other hand, concerning the jsb hades, they have a more significant mushroom effect on the small caliber .177 (with 18fpe minimum!) Weird!. . How many % do you use your ballistic gel? I like to make it at 16-17%, I don't know if you have the knorr brand (knorr texture gélatine) at home? It has a superb transparent texture. I often put 560 grams for 3.5 liters of demineralized water with 20ml of cinnamon oil to prevent the proliferation of bacteria.
Thanks for the feedback. I finally got my hands on some ZAN slugs and will be testing them for accuracy to see how they compare. I’m expecting great results! I was surprised at the expansion as well! It could be possible that they work better at a lower velocity (fpe) based on their design. Makes me curious…. Which inspires more testing…. 🤣🤣
Yea it’s a known fact that pellets require a slower speed around 875 fps to 900’s those speeds with the Hades were to fast you guys probably recognize that by now Lol but those Zans and FX Hybrids are my go to in 25 cal
You got it and yes, one adjustment to slugs is the higher speeds. Dynamic physics are much more complex than I originally estimated. The FX Hybrid never dialed in for us but it could be an adjustment on our end. Just not as accurate. Thanks for the comment and support! 🙏🏻🤙🏼

Hello, in the end, what configuration have you left with the slugs kit? Do you have the rubber ball and spring in the kit? or no ball? haha how are you doing thank you very much
No rubber ball in either, one has the NSA slug probe, the other the slug probe that comes with the power kit. Hammer weight from the power kit as well. Tried the tungsten hammer weight but didn’t like the results. Doing good here. Thanks for the question.
We haven’t had any issues at all until I stored them without pressure for about 6 weeks. That caused some air leak issues. Talked to FX USA and they fixed them without any hassle. This issue was operator error for certain though. They need to be stored under pressure. (Lesson learned) 😁
@@bowmanoutdoors oh ok, thinking about getting the wildcat mk3 bt 25cal, I just been asking around online about the fx brand b4 I buy one...appreciate your response
In our experience they have been really solid guns. I also like the tune ability of them as opposed to some of the other brands out there. Only positive experience here. (Store PCP’s with pressure though. 😁)
I like shooting open soda cans filled with water to see which one is more violent of an explosion and with limited experience I found that the h&n is more violent so far. .22 Nsa 24.8 h&n 21 and 23 slug and barracuda hunter extreme pellet the 23 was most devastating so far. Pellet was around 900 and slugs around 960. Like I said just playing around and the slo motion video is cool to watch. Have no idea how it translates to iguanas but this is what I'm basing it on so far. It's definitely fun either way watching the soda cans explode or filet open. Not closed cans. Seems a closed can don't have same explosiveness to it. Either way cool video.
Thank you. We shot some soda bottles, Gatorade bottles and steel targets today at 200 yds for an upcoming video. Definitely fun seeing the bottles “explode”. Thanks for the watch and comment!
2 me H&N makes the better hollow point slugs, there accurate, and heavy,n hard hitting like there pellets....have you tried the H&N slugs MASSIVE EXSPANSION those slugs hit tha hardest...
We’ve liked the H&N slugs for their accuracy! They shoot well if we get the velocity correct. We have noticed they get very wonky if shot too fast or slow though.
@@bowmanoutdoors that’s the thing they do not expand on any animals they just pass through everyone thinks slugs are the best when they’re not slugs are to hard we are not shooting high power guns like center fire Speed. Hope this helps.
We are shooting them plenty fast and the NSA are quite soft. We have some tests planned to see expansion is small game but still working out a way to capture the slug without causing additional expansion.
