Well.. That was very interesting. I have a ton of slugs. It takes time and a lot of paper to dial in or rule out what slugs like and what the gun likes. Cold beer is always welcome
Awesome shooting guys in my experience a high reg pressure like 165 bar 170 for slugs is best for me with the mk2 pp 25 cal 700mm and m3 22 cal 700mm but I noticed that when I got my m3 in 22 cal it was way more accurate then in 25 cal even took my barrel out of my mk2 and put it in the m3 same fps 990 shooting those same slugs you guys got the 22 cal shot better in the mk2 and the m3 thanks for sharing bsafe guys
When I shoot 38.5s I usually run them around 970 any faster and they won’t group for me. Best groups I’ve ever got from 38.5s was with standard barrel, and pellet probe at 945fps. 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards. But.. what’s the fun in slugs if you got to shoot them soo slow 😂
Group size don’t usually trend proportional to distance shot comparing say 50 yards to 100 yards. Good rule of thumb expect 3x the group size at 100 vs 50 yards.
I think you have to play around with front valve adjustment. Most of the time as my experience front valves is very important to control air behind slugs.
Similar results here. About 500 rounds through the barrel and we see noticeable fall off in shot consistency and accuracy. We clean all slugs and pellets prior to shooting and have played with different lubrication, but always end up seeing a fall off in accuracy. We shoot promarily NSA slugs now but run some FX Pellets (JSB manufactured), H&N, FX hybrids and others on occasion. It is possible this is a result of the NSA manufacturing process, but I figure it goes for all projectiles.
Ah, people still trying to wring accuracy out of thin-wall tubing barrels... There's reason why most .22LR rifles have .5" or larger diameter solid steel barrels, not because of pressure (the SAAMI chamber specs top out at 24,000, but most cartridges run 8,000 with a very fast burning powder), but mitigating the effects of pressure and mass variations in each shot, so that way the barrel oscillates more-or-less the same way every time. I hope that Air Gun MFG's will some day stop building their guns like toys... I won't hold my breath.
I wouldn’t have even I stood this concept a year ago… but you have a valid point on properties of materials and mass and the way waves move. We do have some items to test that would basically sandwich the thin walled barrel to stiffen it. For a air rifle, they have come a LONG way from what I grew up, but still have some improvements. Largest actual improvement opportunity is my own skill though. It’s already more accurate than I am.
Have to agree. Put a dam gun barrel on them, not thin, flexible metal. For what these people charge for the gun, it should be hole in hole every dam time! $2k for a gun that you have to tune by shooting hundreds of $$ worth of lead??? If you get a bad barrel, you’re throwing so much money away on lead and just not going to get anywhere. Demand more for your money people!
I think for the cost, these guns should be built with an actual gun barrel as the tubes they come with are just too dam flimsy. Anyway, I do own an impact m3. The only mod is a Huma port and pellet probe. I am using the 38.9 grain dish nsa slugs and getting between 995 and 1000 fps. Groups at 50 yards are sub moa. At 1000fps (hit occasionally, not all the time), that equates to about 86 ft pounds of energy. Not bad. I wish these slugs would expand more…very minimal even at these speeds (but not a problem as far as hunting goes). I have to be very careful to hit squirrels in the head or they almost literally blow in half. Have not tried further than 50 yards as that is usually the furthest distance I need to shoot. My settings: 1st reg: 170 2nd reg: 165 Valve: hair above 4th line PW: 16 Micro: a tick below 5
Thanks for the comment and info. I agree completely with the barrel though. We have ordered the tension kits but haven’t shown up yet. We will do a video comparing results one we do. Great tune! As it starts to cool off, we will get out more to create some new content. It’s just so dang hot and humid right now.
I am going to index my barrel tonight. If you haven’t, I would suggest you do. Also, you can make a harmonic tuner by just cutting off a section of pipe that would fit around your barrel (maybe an inch wide), and drill a hole for a set screw. Make tiny adjustments and when you get perfect groups, tighten it down. Don’t pay FX or other manufacturers for stuff you can do yourself! They took enough money with the purchase of the gun… for over 2k, it should be perfect already!! Demand more for your money from these people.
What liner ? I have the same rifle and have tried in vain to get my Superior heavy liner to shoot well and now I have the factory installed ( Pellet ) liner back in with carbon fiber sleeve. Also your targets are awesome will be ordering some soon.
We have the stock FX liner installed with carbon fiber sleeve also. The probe has been upgraded to a pin style and our port is the Huma-Air dual slug port. Not getting as many shots as I’d like, but our focus has been accuracy over efficiency. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoy!
So is it true the two washers that come with the power slug kit do something to the power wheel adjuster I heard something also could you get a 33 grain slug to go 1000 without the power slug kit ? Thanks I got a stock m3 and haven’t really touched it yet but I wanna shoot my 33 zans in the mid to hi 900’s but need to know if I could achieve those speeds without the kit
I think you could creep up on 1000fps with 33gn slugs. You will lose some shots though. Open the valve above the bottle 1/2 turn and see what happens. Do you have your barrel (port) with the slug opening down? You could start with Reg and valve adjustments, then go to slug port, then to slug probe before getting to the power kit. I don’t foresee any issues and know 950-975 is well within range.
Thank you yeah im pushing the 33gr zans at 898 fps maxing out everything macro/micro etc and that’s at 110 2nd reg so I’ll try flipping the tranferport from the p side too the s side turning the reg up a tiny bit to see what I get and also trying those other things you mentioned hey I appreciate it thank you
The valve adjustment (small know above your bottle connection) should help you out tremendously. Most people go with about 4 lines showing. You can go 4 + a full rotation (or more) but you should see improvements with that. Thanks for your comments and for your interactions with us.
Hi Guys what would you recommend for a M3 .25 shooting jsb king heavies 34 gr also 33 zan slugs I think my reg pressure set wrong any help much appreciated thanks Si..
Here is where I am at: 34gn JSB King Heavy Pellet Reg 1: 165 Reg 2: 152 PW: 3 Micro: 3 945 - 950 fps 38.5 flat base NSA slug Same Reg as pellet Reg 1: 165 Reg 2: 152 PW: 14 Micro: 4 990 - 995 FPF Logan has ever so slightly adjustments but very close to mine as well.
I’m still not 100% satisfied with the results and more testing to come but here is where I am currently shooting: 4gn JSB King Heavy Pellet Reg 1: 165 Reg 2: 152 PW: 3 Micro: 3 945 - 950 fps 38.5 flat base NSA slug Same Reg as pellet Reg 1: 165 Reg 2: 152 PW: 14 Micro: 4 990 - 995 FPF
Working on a new test under more controlled conditions. I agree the number of variables is too many. Stay tuned for round two! Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏻

Thank you! Absolutely correct… lots and lots of lead down range. I need more practice anyway so we better get back to shooting!!!

Thanks for the feedback and I’ve heard that 22 cal is generally more accurate so we may have to do some tests there!

We just got both rifles back from FX-USA so we have to do a full new tune. I think you are right and I’ll let you know what we find.
@@bowmanoutdoors I can’t wait to see it brothers.
Nice! Get er dialed in. Hmmm wonder what my FX dirty .30 sniper will do
PW:8 looked quite incredible.
That power wheel 14 looked pretty awesome as well.
As soon as Logan gets back into town, we will head to the range. It’s time to post up some more content!
I love the NSA SLUGS BUT find I get my best groups after I clean the barrel. ANY COMMENT. TOM

Hi Guys what would you recommend for a M3 .25 shooting jsb king heavies 34 gr also 33 zan slugs I think my reg pressure set wrong any help much appreciated thanks Si..
Here is where I am at:
34gn JSB King Heavy Pellet
Reg 1: 165
Reg 2: 152
PW: 3
Micro: 3
945 - 950 fps
38.5 flat base NSA slug
Same Reg as pellet
Reg 1: 165
Reg 2: 152
PW: 14
Micro: 4
990 - 995 FPF
Logan has ever so slightly adjustments but very close to mine as well.
@@bowmanoutdoors Thanks for the reply I am out with the M3 this morning I will try those settings
Thanks again.Si .
Your video description has different settings??
04:22
So what were your final tune numbers for greatest accuracy with the 38.5
I’m still not 100% satisfied with the results and more testing to come but here is where I am currently shooting:
4gn JSB King Heavy Pellet
Reg 1: 165
Reg 2: 152
PW: 3
Micro: 3
945 - 950 fps
38.5 flat base NSA slug
Same Reg as pellet
Reg 1: 165
Reg 2: 152
PW: 14
Micro: 4
990 - 995 FPF
Flat base doesn’t work for me at all. Maybe try dish base.
We’ve tried dish base and got even greater inconsistencies. We will continue the testing. Thanks for your support and comments!
Well if that's the accuracy at 75 yards with various FPS on the PW I'll be giving those slugs a miss for sure.
Too many variables to say that.
Working on a new test under more controlled conditions. I agree the number of variables is too many. Stay tuned for round two! Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏻
I think testing the slug acurecy should be at 100 yards and up, thats what slugs are for.
I agree. We just didn’t have that range at the time of shooting. They actually perform better at 100 - 125. Gearing up to get them out a bit farther.
Good Evening po sir Dreams this Air gun PCP is my Son gwapings eric
We have some footage of great accuracy at 250 yards, but haven’t had time to edit and upload it yet. Thanks for watching! 😀
Quite nice but not as good as Uragan 2, 700 mm barrel, to be honest Fx guns are overrated in general. Kind Regards. Good job Guys.
Thank you for the kind words.
