We had 3 dobies and a whippet, great bunch of dogs. All played well together, as they aged the all adjusted around the oldest(10years) partially blind deaf and senile dobie to let her think she was as active as the younger ones for the year she was around. Dobermans are called "velcro dogs" because they like to be with their humans ALL the time. Inquisitive and willing to learn new things, but always wanting to know what you're doing. Beware though. They can be sneaky. Let them onto the bed "an inch" and they'll soon take their half of it out of the middle. My 95 lb male slept with me (when I was 17) in a *Twin* bed! Guess who got most of the room! LOL. Love them and they will return it ten fold. Piper is beautiful and has the makings of a good watch dog and a great companion. Any videos of her all grown up?
Thank you Bill. Yes definitely Piper is great but we had to keep a routine and did a lot of training when she was young. We never let her sleep all night in our room. Definitely she would take over. Dad joked we liked "D" dogs as we'd previously had (Great) Danes, a Dachshund and Dalmatians.They were greatly impressed by Dobie "smarts" and their devotion. Mom had that female for 13 years. She said that dog comforted her greatly when Dad died and kept her to a daily routine. Training is a matter of being consistent, patient and praise/reward. Lol, we have 2 male red Dobes - full brothers different litters. How is Piper? It's funny, my very first dog was a Whippet and my husband's roommate and his best friend had a Whippet, like way before we ever even met - what are the chances!?! Told him the other day, I want another Whippet to help exercise our Dobermans - Lol! Actually the Dobes probably have more energy than a Whippet, right? Short bursts of speed, then sleep the rest of the day. My Whippet was Prudence, white and fawn and his buddy's was Torry, a brindle. Actually our Dobes are 100lb couch potatoes in the house - it's a beautiful thing!
Yeah and this is the reason we have four! lol You are in for such unbelievable love. You have only barely started. Keep the vids up and you will have 3k subs in about a year probably and then it will start growing exponentially. Dobies are becoming very popular these days.
My female dobie girl Tyke is European as well I never had any problems with her except trying to get into the trash but other than that she is the best girl and she loves her mommy so much which is me and also she protective as well
Did you get a Dobe or another breed? Just curious. If a Dobe, from what organization? Just in case people might want to foster a Dobe pup for service work....
@@robinrutherfordcost4748 i didnt get the doberman yet because my min pin is still alive she is 16 years old i though she was going to pass away in february but i finally changed her food to soft food and now she is thriving so i can’t get the doberman until she goes to the doggie rainbow 🌈 in the sky i promise her she would be the only dog we had a Chihuahua along with her for a few years and the Minpin did not like other dogs the Chihuahua I got a Chihuahua because the Minpin‘s mate that was another Minpin had passed away and she didn’t except a new dog so I had to rehome the new dog I wouldn’t give up min pin so I have to wait till she passes away to get my Doberman I did find a breeder that has the American Doberman that I really want and they live in my state about 60 miles away😂😍
@@robinrutherfordcost4748 i would think of fostering but i would have to pay for all of its training and would not want to give that dog back at that point i would consider myself the owner at that point and not a foster parent if I put that much money into training that dog to be a service dog
We live in Ontario Canada. This breeder has been raising Dobermans for 30 years. The cost is between $2,500-$3,000 includes cropped ears and dock tail and all the vets vaccinations.
