I still have a scar from my collie because I went for swim in our local river, he saw me and came to say hi, realized that he was in water, panicked and climbed me. I don't think he'd be very good at this competition.
Whippets and greyhounds actually have a stride that's identical to a cheetah, their spine basically accordions and they have two distinct four-off-the-ground strides where all four paws are in the air, one where their legs are extended and one where the hind paws come up past the front paws. The only thing they don't have is a big thick tail to use as a rudder so they lack a little bit of maneuverability, but their ability to accelerate is just as impressive.
im a 23 year old and its hard for me to get emotional. Im usually get confused in moments where a mother or father would cry of happiness at their daughters wedding. But when watching the moment of unconditional bonding and love between this sweet girl and spitfire especially when traveling nationally together, it moved me to tears. I cant describe it other than that without words, they have a mutual understanding of having each other's back and providing support. Like when the girl is yelling "go go go!" you can tell how much training they had and the dedication. And the way that spitfire follows her commands in a team mate way, not an owner- dog relationship type of way. Its almost like he understands exactly whats going on and tries his best at competitions with that look of focus and determination, not wanting to let her down. i can finally say that i now understand for the first time what its like to be moved to tears of joy.
Good comments @user-mj5dg4no9b Unconditional desire to make their owner (the human) happy and taken care of; that's the beauty of (most) dogs' attributes. If the average dog knows a person just wants to pet them, most become putty in the hands of that person--especially if it's the dog's owner. "Man's Best Friend" is one of the most appreciated sayings to most men who own dogs, because while I love women, there are also MANY women/wives/girlfriends don't know when to shut up and stop bitching and/or fighting with their man. Civil, our mail carrier has our dog wrapped around his fingers. Our dog looks like a cartoon wolf and sounds fierce. But, our mail carrier carries treats and is a true dog whisperer. And so the highlight of our dog's day is the mail delivery and seeing his bud.
missSDW That’s actually spot on 😂 As I’ve gotten louder I can feel him pulling harder to go, and recently he’s started barking at me as I hold him as if to say “it’s time to go woman! Let me go!”
Fantastic! What a dynamic doggie duo! How beautiful to see a dog doing what he does best, all guns firing off, and flying thru the air, achieving the impossible. So beautiful to see that. What a lovely young woman and so dedicated to her dog. Well done, champs! You deserve the glory.
I just love how she loves him as a whole dog / friend and not just sees him as a tool to win competition and that they both love what they do and he isnt forced. It made me really happy to see that he is in great hands and that he will live a great life.
Agreed when I saw that big woman with a whippet I knew she is only about trying to win. A whippet is the last dog a lazy person would get out of love. That's why her dog will never beat spitfire. Spitfire is just having fun. Goes home to his kids bed. The other probably locked in a kennel.
Lazy as in would rather try to train through a dog than train herself. I've been around dog show women many of them are very similar kinda people. They act like dogs are everything. But they only talk about what the dog can win for them.
She started yelling and I don't know what came over me. I ran and jumped belly first into an empty bathtub. Two exceptional individuals. One in a million match up.
Congratulations on all your success with Spitfire. Watching him fly so far and high is fascinating to watch. Having a companion like Spitfire must be an awesome and rewarding experience.
I thought we'd see him traveling and double dribbling and getting away with it. M.J. the most overrated of all time......... bar none. You all know this is true.
Obviously Spitfire has a natural talent but I also think that Sydney takes such great care of him that he’s so happy to go out and compete for his favourite human ❤
Definitely the personality of the dog helps. My friends have siblings from the same litter of Whippets... Their personalities are all very different. Friend's Whippet Loves pleasing her owner and doing training- she qualified for Crufts on her very first dog show outing. Tragically a freak accident caused her to need an amputation, so her showing days are over, but the little Whippet really loved pleasing her human in the show ring.
Spitfire has a diet plan, professional masseurs massaging him, and acupuncture sessions, a healthy and fit lifestyle . ... .... Riiiiight. What am I doing with my life?
to be fair.. she is competing with him and with his type of breed / rigorous training and exercise is needed .. this isnt an ordinary lifestyle she changed his life by doing a Sport if you watch Crufts theres other relay versions with a ball and some use greyhounds/other breeds similar to this for the agility/muscle they got. You can see his body is literally all muscle and he is toned af
Sure Spitfire is an award winning good boy, but MY dog finally learned that he's too big to fit any part other than his head in my lap so I'm pretty proud
As someone that does dock diving, one thing that I always find so magical about Spitfire is that when he knows exactly how long the dock is and he uses ALL of it!! It is RARE to have a dog get to the end of the dock before jumping as he does, it takes a lot of patience, training, and practice. Most people's dogs will jump a foot or so from the end of the dock. These two are my role models, I want to be like them in my future :)
My dog apparently was a mix of labrador and whippet. Her special gift was making use of all the space there was to run around in a field. I often stood to watch her, utterly flabbergasted.
So are there other race dogs besides Spitfire and the other one I forgot the name of? From this there doesn't look to be a lot of competition, regardless of spitfires actual ability
Seeing Spitfire airborne is spectacular, it's like he trims his body to be in the most aerodynamic form possible to achieve his goal. Incredible. Sydney, getting him amped up is equally impressive, I can see Spitfire's emotions in his tensed muscles as he converts his body to something akin of a loaded spring.
I thought that was an Italian Greyhound for a hot minute before I read the description, and my experience with Italian Greyhounds is entire encompassed by Kermit, so needless to say I was pretty shook by the whole concept
This was so well done. The subject matter is amazing and something I would have never known anything about. The film makers did an excellent job of keeping the camera work focused on the subject with great nuance and heart. Well done!

Tyler Driver Yep. Sucks to clean up too. Luckily only had that happen once and normally they’ll jump off the treadmill and stand by the door waiting for me to let them out
Finna Woke Fam Squad ... We’ve all seen Cesar Millan put dogs on treadmills for decades. Nothing new.
This made my cry, with happiness, and sadness because I miss my Whippet more than anything I have ever loved in my life. I am 73,. My Whippet passed away more than fourty years ago.
I’m glad you shared this
My mum had one in the sixties and she still talks about her. Buttons.
Losing a pet is so hard. But I always think about the fact that I was able to give them a good life and love them. For that, I feel so fortunate.
Oh wow....I'm sorry
Me too.
Im a mail carrier. People often ask why i hesitate when there is a 4 foot fence between me and their dog. This is why
My dog can jump 6ft high easily, he's 65 pounds.. you're smart lol
😅😅man u made my day
Try 9ft fences. TH-cam away.
indeed, and some dogs can just flat out slam into the fences and break them sometimes.
Civil, our mail carrier has our dog wrapped around his fingers. Our dog looks like a cartoon wolf and sounds fierce. But, our mail carrier carries treats and is a true dog whisperer. And so the highlight of our dog's day is the mail delivery and seeing his bud.
I love how he slammed himself on the the Couch. 😂❤
I love how she gets him hyped up.
Right. I wonder if there’s a method to that? Like if she isn’t as loud he won’t go a as far or something
missSDW Exactly!
That's what I was going to say. I love how she yells at him. lol
@@NickRoman it's super cute
missSDW That’s actually spot on 😂 As I’ve gotten louder I can feel him pulling harder to go, and recently he’s started barking at me as I hold him as if to say “it’s time to go woman! Let me go!”
If she yells at me like before Spittie's jump, I too, would be motivated to run 30mph
riyan azhar .. lol you can literally see him getting low & on his mark as he’s readying for his run off the dock.
"It's probably cause you never met a dog"
Say what?
"Like Spitfire."
Oooooooooooh.
LIke the Mufasa...... moment hehehe
They had us in the first half NGL.....!
Fantastic! What a dynamic doggie duo! How beautiful to see a dog doing what he does best, all guns firing off, and flying thru the air, achieving the impossible. So beautiful to see that. What a lovely young woman and so dedicated to her dog. Well done, champs! You deserve the glory.
My dog is the Michael Jordan of eating his own vomit
my dog Earl is the champion of eating the cats vomit.
LMFAOOOO
That's actually their natural instinct, because they're pack animals
I was reading set comments and smiling... I did not expect your post. Lmfao!!🤣🤣😭
Impossible...because I AM the Michael Jordan of eating my own vomit. I challenge your dog to a duel.
"He's got that dog in him." -Skip Bayless
Such an underrated comment😂😂😂👌
Bow wow yippie yay...its just the dog in me...lol
The more I read this the more funny it became 😂
😂😂😂😂
LMAO
I just love how she loves him as a whole dog / friend and not just sees him as a tool to win competition and that they both love what they do and he isnt forced. It made me really happy to see that he is in great hands and that he will live a great life.
lol wait until the dog dies
Agreed when I saw that big woman with a whippet I knew she is only about trying to win.
A whippet is the last dog a lazy person would get out of love. That's why her dog will never beat spitfire.
Spitfire is just having fun. Goes home to his kids bed.
The other probably locked in a kennel.
Lazy as in would rather try to train through a dog than train herself. I've been around dog show women many of them are very similar kinda people. They act like dogs are everything.
But they only talk about what the dog can win for them.
White woman and a dog. Oh boi, she f**** him
His leash is on the edge of the treadmill, he doesn't even know if he can stop while she's just chilling aside.
A real athlete and champion.
and good boy
She started yelling and I don't know what came over me. I ran and jumped belly first into an empty bathtub. Two exceptional individuals. One in a million match up.
I'd bet 100 bucks that didn't happen.
😂😂😂😂😂😂

Me: I’m gonna take a nap on my lunch break.
YT: Wanna watch the Michael Jordan of dogs for 12 minutes?
Me: SPIIIIIIITFIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!!!!
You got me.. 🤣
Same 😂😂😂
Exactly 😩🤦🏾♀️
Tanner Garcia arent lunch breaks like 30 mins ?
slurp yeah. I was half way through 🤣
Her dog: jumps 8 feet high and 30 feet long, fed raw diet, acupuncture
my dog: chases butterflies and falls
My dog: is startled by his own farts.
@@delaneyreyes8995 mine too
My dog pissed herself because she saw a helicopter
My dog whenever someone breaks out a hamper, a box, or a tape measure: *_speed is me_*
Not all dogs are born as great legends :((
Congratulations on all your success with Spitfire. Watching him fly so far and high is fascinating to watch. Having a companion like Spitfire must be an awesome and rewarding experience.
that feeling when a dog has more trophies, awards, honors, and accomplishments than you.
So?
If you're gonna let the achievements of a dog let you feel some way, you need counselling 😂
GalaxyJuice TV Yes, it should be a feeling of joy lol ur better than that!
😂😂😂
Team effort
Now I want to see his friends, Scottie Pitbull and Dennis Doberman
Underrated 😂😂
😂🤣

Nice one
And their coach Michael “the pit bull “ Vick
When she yells ready ready go go I wanna take off running.
😂😂😂
Yeah, that'll fire anybody up. Make you wanna go fight a brick wall.
Yeah before I knew I was 1km away from my home
Naaahhhh
my dog that she was talking to her and started running around the house with her 3-piece toy in her mouth
This is absolutely incredible. I want half the relationship these two have. What a great pair.
I half expected seeing this dog dunking and winning championships in the national dog basketball league.
Haha😂😂😂
Yeah that's what I was thinking too!
Me too lmfao
kept waiting for air bud to show up
I thought we'd see him traveling and double dribbling and getting away with it. M.J. the most overrated of all time......... bar none. You all know this is true.
"he knows who's asking him to do something, he's gonna give it his all when she(Sydney) asks him... Because He loves her" 🥺🥺😢👏👏👏
strong bolt vibes
I was reading this exact comment when the lady said it
Imagine being the next dog this family has
Haha
has to live up to high expectations
"YOU WILL NEVER BE LIKE SPITFIRE, SPOT. NEVER."
Imagine how the neighbors dog might be feeling.
Imagine loving every dog in your family equally much for who they are, perks and quirks.
This has me crying like a baby. They’re really best friends.
Jamielol oh good I’m not the only one crying
I’m trying not to
Thank God this didn't end with Spitfire dying, I would have had to leave work lol.
Your comment made me bust out laughing... and so true! I felt the same way.
LMAO...same. It would be just like ESPN to either kill off the dog or the girl!! These short documentaries are brutal sometimes!!
I was on edge the whole time saying "he better not die!" lol
That first jump made my jaw drop while laughing.
Austin Blackburn
First my eyes opened wider than ever....then I started laughing!!
I teared up watching this towards the end. The relationship between Sydney and Spitfire is so precious and beautiful.
Spitfire has a diet plan, professional masseurs massaging him, and acupuncture sessions, a healthy and fit lifestyle .
...
....
Riiiiight. What am I doing with my life?
Watching him live his best life with the rest of us 😂😂
and i consider it a win if I only eat mcdonalds twice in a week.
307 Outdoors saaame lol. and spitfire seems so much more productive😂
to be fair.. she is competing with him and with his type of breed / rigorous training and exercise is needed .. this isnt an ordinary lifestyle she changed his life by doing a Sport if you watch Crufts theres other relay versions with a ball and some use greyhounds/other breeds similar to this for the agility/muscle they got. You can see his body is literally all muscle and he is toned af
Don't forget the richkid owner of him...
imagine trying to run from this dog and he out here hopping over houses
tibbles lmao that k9 gonna get you
Imagine not trying to not match somethings best attribute
🤣🤣
All the dislikes are from all the other dogs he's beat
They paw pressed the dislike button every day non stop
that kid and her dog made me happy inside for a moment. thanks
Sure Spitfire is an award winning good boy, but MY dog finally learned that he's too big to fit any part other than his head in my lap so I'm pretty proud
Thomas L maybe a Great Dane pupper
@Thomas L Hes an American Staffie so hes not the biggest dog out there but standing on two legs hes a bit under 4'9.

His original name was Kite...
That dog was born to fly.

The energy he puts out when she says go go GOOOOOO! is nothing short of amazing!
This dog has a better life than most people : Love, good meals, healthcare, success...
Hahahahahaha success ahhahah
he's not a regular dog this dog is Spitfire !
Definitely better than me
bro why did you just make me feel bad about my life bhahahahaha
And have a good friend.
The part where hes just cuddling after the big competition is just so pure
ok, 56 year old dog lover here. Does anyone else just empty their tear ducts on this video? OK. Fine. Maybe I'm the only one.
No matter how amazing their feats, they are still dogs who love to be treated like puppies.
I hope your transition to a dog goes well!
Sure , All De best Bryh,
Dog food tastes great BTW
My dog apparently was a mix of labrador and whippet. Her special gift was making use of all the space there was to run around in a field. I often stood to watch her, utterly flabbergasted.
So are there other race dogs besides Spitfire and the other one I forgot the name of? From this there doesn't look to be a lot of competition, regardless of spitfires actual ability
The passion between them is so beautiful
Seeing Spitfire airborne is spectacular, it's like he trims his body to be in the most aerodynamic form possible to achieve his goal. Incredible. Sydney, getting him amped up is equally impressive, I can see Spitfire's emotions in his tensed muscles as he converts his body to something akin of a loaded spring.
The Producer of this did a great Job.
I thought that was an Italian Greyhound for a hot minute before I read the description, and my experience with Italian Greyhounds is entire encompassed by Kermit, so needless to say I was pretty shook by the whole concept
My first thought when I saw the thumbnail was “Is that a beefed up Kermit?”

This was so well done. The subject matter is amazing and something I would have never known anything about. The film makers did an excellent job of keeping the camera work focused on the subject with great nuance and heart. Well done!
