I didn't get into the retouching part of this shoot but if that's something y'all would be interested in please let me know! I even had to PS the correct emblems onto the helmet from a vector file...😱
Thanks a lot, Sir! I'm one of the persons always asking for a simpler lighting set-up video and couldn't be more happy. Takes me right back to watching some of the videos you've put out in recent times and get inspired for an upcoming photo shoot. Thanks for your effort, it's highly appreciated!
I’ve been wanting to go with a lighter yet smaller setup without sacrificing dramatic lighting. So I switched to the two light setup going into this year’s media days. Thanks for your amazing content!!
So glad to see this! Headed to a shoot in Minnesota tomorrow and want to travel light…no pun intended! I have 4 FJ400 strobes but needed this to realize I don’t need all of them. Thank you!!
Never too short my friend, I could listen to you all day! Should be required viewing for all up and coming and experienced sports photographers wanting to up their game. @laredosportpics
Merci pour vos vidéos, j'aimerais savoir si vous avez un truc pour éviter les reflets désagréable d'éclairage de la key light sur la visière du casque d'un joueur? J'ai beaucoup ce problème avec des joueurs de hockey .
Thanks for the video. Would a profoto b10 (250 watts) have been powerful enough for the shoot? Did you draw up a shot list before the shoot or are you now so experienced that you knew what you would get as you want along? The teaching element to the video is very high.
Hey Simon, I could've easily used 200w strobes! For this shoot I did not have a "shot list" but I knew the important components (details) we needed to capture as I mention in the video. From there it was just about trying to create some cool stuff.

@@QuantzPhoto Well, back to square one! 🤣🤣
Great Video!! I would love to see the retouching part!
I need to get a little more dramatic with my lighting! Great stuff in this video!
Thanks Todd!

Thanks Johnny!
Thank you so much for your content. It is always appreciated. I love learning more about light what size rapid box switch are you using?
Thanks! In this video I'm using the 1x4'.

For hockey I use a 1x3 strip with the 1x3 Pro Light Mod and the reflection looks like arena lights! Check my hockey BTS videos.
@@QuantzPhoto J'ai déjà les Promod 2 x 3, les 1 x 3 Promod vous les mettez en horizontal ?

I'm assuming you had the modeling light on both of the FJ400s for the duration off the shoot?
I did not. No reason to if I can achieve focus without them.
@@QuantzPhoto 👍
Appreciate the video as always. Are you using a ND or HSS for the indoor shots?
Neither. If I'm freezing action on one of my sets I'm using the fast flash duration of my strobes.
@@QuantzPhotothanks for the reply. I suppose you just power down your lights at f/2?
great as always Quantz! do you typically use an ND w/plm or any of your cyc wall shoots?
Only when shooting video!
@@QuantzPhoto good to know Q!
What light are you using inside the 1x4?
Both were FJ400's!
@@QuantzPhoto Thank you sir! Much appreciated as always
Niiiiiice!
Thanks Travis!
Almost first
So close - next time!
