    Appreciate you actually answering the question you posed in your video title. So many do a bait and switch on VS. titles. I have the 3.0 Trailboss, and it is pure joy to drive!

      I still miss this truck.

    Little late to the video and comment. But I recently purchased a 24 trail boss with the duramax. I have owned a 2020 Tacoma trd off road. Currently also own a modded fj cruiser. Could have gone with a tundra which I’ve wanted for quite sometime. But you can’t beat the MPG and towing of diesels. And have some off road capabilities. It’s a win for me. Absolutely loving the Chevy and don’t regret not going with the tundra. I pull a 5k plus trailer(I know not super heavy) but was still averaging 14-15 mpg fully loaded on a windy highway

    I too have the 07. Bought it brand new and love it. No issues whatsoever. But at 240,000 miles I feel it’s time to up grade. Been looking at this model but back and forth on the trim. From custom to LT. Never had leather seats and I would probably put seat covers on them anyway. Just trying to decide on all the extras you get if it’s worth it for me. Think it’s about 10,000 more g’s

      The big difference is the dash. Check out our video on the Custom.

      @@GTGarageTalk just like you said in the custom vid. That column shift just looks and feels right for a truck. Thanks for the videos.

      Keep it simple go for the custom, much less to fix in the long run. With everything connected these days the less electronics the better. Just walking up to the vehicle all kinds of electronics go off you can hear outside before turning on. My 23 has already had the battery die from the truck trying to update and getting stuck through the night. Going back to my 04 has 278k on the dash and I have only changed the water pump gasket. They don't make em like they used to. Good luck. You also should be able to get a custom under 50k

      For the '24 model year, the LT Trail Boss comes standard with front and side view cameras, which help tremendously if you actually use it off road because it _is_ a very large truck and hard to see obstacles.

    I’m really curious how the Z71 Suburban with the 3.0 Duramax handles those same trails.

      I bought a 2020 Trail Boss LT brand new. I was considering the GMC Sierra AT4 so I could have the 3.0 Duramax, but went with the 6.2 V8 Chevy because of more horsepower and cheaper fill-ups. The nor I've learned about the 3.0 Duramax the happier I am I went with the gasser. GM strongly recommends Top Tier diesel for the 3.0. Good luck finding it in the US. If you don't, GM recommends buying a fuel supplement that runs $18/bottle, and you're using almost a whole bottle for each full-up. I've driven my truck on a long distance trips, including a cross country trek. In the cross country trek I saw over 20 mpg, with a 50 mile average high of 24.4. No hyper-miling, drafting, etc. Cruise control was set at 8 mph over the posted speed limit in the interstate.
      Overall, I love the Trail Boss, but wouldn't go with the diesel. The diesel is best suited as a long distance driver, and probably better in a Suburban that primarily gets used for road trips. Just my opinion.

    I really enjoy your videos. I went out and spent 75k on a Solar Octane TRD Pro after your last video and now you telling me I made a mistake and should have bought a Trail Boss?

    • @GTGarageTalk
      @GTGarageTalk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d be happy with either. I really really loved that solar octane.
      As I mention (several times I think) I’m a Chevy guy from my core…so that played into it a bit. But, for certain things off-road, the angles on the trail Boss are just better.

      @shanewhittemore ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GTGarageTalk I am just kidding. I love my new TRD Pro but now I am paranoid about the approach angles. To be honest I really like the Trail Boss with the diesel engine. That is one nice truck.

      As I mentioned in this video, the size of theses massive trucks really has me doubting how much I would take it out there if I owned it. We have a 4Runner coming soon and that really is the best size. We have take 2 other 4Runners out there and had a blast both times.

    Anyone who compares this truck to the Toyota tundra Trd pro is highly misinformed and doesn’t know anything about either one of the trucks… I own a 2022 trail boss 6.2L. In no way shape or form can my trail boss hang with the Trd pro on an off-road course

      Honestly the stock Trundra isn’t really that capable. Still rides too low and will hit its bumpers on ascents and descents.

      Motortrends 6.2 was able to surpass the tundra quite handedly in their off road tests. Therefore I don’t believe you own one.
