Hi John, interesting video as always. With reference to your fuel leak fault, the ecu in your van is detecting excessive fuel leak off not an external fuel leak, that’s the reason your getting a fuel rail pressure fault code also., this due to excessive high pressure fuel leak off, the high pressure fuel rail in turn can’t maintain the correct pressure to give sufficient power when your throttle input is upwards of 50% My advice if you want to take it, is make sure your fuel filter is replaced with a good quality filter ( Mann, Bosch or genuine) if that makes no difference, get an injector leak off test carried out on your injectors. Excessive injector leak off would give you the faults & performance symptoms your having.
Smell your dipstick.... can you smell fuel? If you have a leaking injector you will have fuel in your oil and you should be able to smell it. It may also help to buy a new fuel cap. If it's leaking fumes to the air, you will have problems in your evap system. It's a cheap elimination. Finally, have the potentiometer checked on the throttle body... or at least spray it with contact cleaner. If it's faulty, the computer won't know what position your throttle is in when you need extra power.
I had my Range Rover Sport remapped, did a quick test drive as you do, thought great. On my way home to Dorset (had it done in Wales) I realised my Cruise Control was no longer working. Contacted the fella who did the remap and he was absolutely certain it couldn't be the remap. Took it to a specialist, they did quick diags and said a couple of things didn't agree so Cruise was disabled. Full diags were going to cost hundreds. I bought a Kingbolen ediag mini, it interrogates all the modules and shows live values (about £60), all looks fine. On much deeper investigation it does look like the map file could be for the wrong vehicle. So next I had my motorhome remapped (2.0 boxer 130bhp to 180bhp) - huge difference and pulls like a train. Spoke to the fella who did that remap and he's going to back out the remap on the RR and put the old file back on, we'll soon find out what the issue is. Trouble is the guy who did the original remap just doesn't want to know - guess I'll have to be a little firmer in my next contact if it was his remap. Tread carefully mapping out the DPF - it might cause more issues.
Hi John. Similar probs with our self build on a Citroen relay. Euro 6 and basically trouble waiting to happen. Travelling through Spain, limp mode, paid a Spaniard 300 euro to change the dpf filter worked for 100 miles. We bought a reader and I removed the faults. As we got home we took it to a garage and they found it to be a adblue fault. It's sorted now, I've done 5k since with no issues. Adblue is a con . Anyway best of luck ..
I had very similar symptons in a 2.0D jaguar X-type at about 110,000 miles which has a ford based engine, I took it to a diesel specialist who diagnosed 3 leaking injectors resulting in low fuel pressure in the common rail. This makes the ecu shut the engine down when fuel demand is higher than the lower pressure can support. A set of their own refurbed injectors sorted the problem and the car was trouble free up to when i sold it with 235,000 miles! Get your injectors checked, this low sulphur fuel is not good for them. I added 200ml of 2 stroke oil to every full tank of fuel after this work on their recomendation.
Hi John. A bit of a long shot perhaps, but I had a remap done at the Norfolk show a couple of years back and on my way back to Scotland, I had the EML come on when I accelerated onto the A1M at Newark. The van dropped into limp mode but reset once I’d brought the engine revs down. To cut a long story short, the Remap company said not the remap ,as it had been out for at least 5 years. They suggested looking at the turbo wastgate arm for tightness / seizure. It was indeed seized, so after carefully freeing off, normal service resumed😊.
Hi John, I had a similar experience with Carly except that they did eventually respond to the zendesk help requests and they did sort my problem out. So I know they aren’t a scam they are just woefully inefficient. An important point to note is that they put you on automatic resubscription to the app, so you need to contact them to take you off of auto renew, otherwise you will be paying again for a service you will no longer want. Keep going mate, love the vids. 😊
I bought a Carly on a promotion (£50 subscription and free scanner) for my Audi and from day 1 they started the "support App" The scanner didnt arrive for 2 weeks so I lost 2 weeks of my subscription. So I complained alot , left poor reviews on Trustpilot and eventually they offered compensation e.g. 10% off price 20 extension to subscription etc. I accepted the latter and it seems to work. Note I also have an OBDeleven which works OK but less friendly but also no subscription!, I will be comparing them as Audis seem to run with 3 to 4 minor faults continually ref Emergency Assistance connection faults. I referred this to the main dealer - but no result!
Hi John, I have been sunning into more or less the same problem recently. You can visit a service station but you will most probably go back there times and times over again. Digging deep into to on-line knowledge base found something that worked form my Bürstner Ducato Euro 6/3.2 160 Hp. 9-step automatic. Switch the contact on for 2 seconds, do not start the engine, turn it of for 2 seconds and repeat this action 4 times. After that wait 60 seconds and you can start the engine. In 9 out of 10 situations this works. The engine management system warning light does not turn on again. After solving the problem I went to local diesel expert centre and they did a full read-out of the motor management system, they found only one message, the break and the gaspedal seem to have been pushed simultaneously.
Hi John. I can’t stress enough the importance of changing the fuel filter regularly. I used to work for a large breakdown company and I used to get this all the time! It worth the cost of eliminating the filter. X
Hey John, I recently bought a Foxwell scanner for my Ducato, and so far it seems to work ok and free software updates can be downloaded any time via a PC. I did consider a Bluetooth app based scanner and now glad I didn't. Good luck sorting it all out. Downunda Melbourne Australia
Hello John, we have a Ford transit 2.2 litre euro 6 engine that was used across other manufacturers with similar problem to yours. If pulling away gently through the gears the engine was fine. However if acceleration was increased significantly in the RPM range 1700 t0 2000 the engine would falter and occasionally go into limp mode with the usual stop indications. With ignition off/on engine would restart fine and able to drive away. Although our vehicle only has 33k miles on it went straight to fuel system using the ForScan diagnostic software running on a laptop. This showed no errors in fuel pressure etc but to be on the safe side changed the fuel fileter and removed all 4 injectors having them tested at a Bosch service centre. They were all fine so then turned attention to ECU and sensors on DPF and SCR system. Again these all tested fine so in desperation took vehicle to Ford. They had it for a few hours and saw the fault but could not diagnose the issue in time given asking me to leave it with them for further work. I decided to take our vehicle back and try to sort myself using the same diagnostic kit that Ford used along with a year subscription to the Ford firmware support. After doing several trips whilst my wife held the laptop running real time diagnostics what I found was that in the RPM range between 1700 - 2000with acceleration applied the command for the ECU to EGR valve was say 5%, which would be about right because you dont want the EGR valve recirculating when engine under acceleration. However the EGR valve was snapping open to around 80% despite only having a command of 5% which resulted in the engine stumbling. Within a second or so the EGR valve would correct itself and drop back to around the command value. After some research and doing a few of the Ford on-line technician training courses on DFF and SCR systems it transpires that the RPM range of approx 1700-2000 is where the SCR is designed to operate (Euro 6 onwards) and the opening of the EGR valve is used to reduce exhaust temperature to lower NOX. Suspecting EGR valve might be faulty I changed it (it was a Pierburg) and fitted a Hella. Learn values were reset but after a few runs this was found to have only made a slight inprovement. So an original Pierburg EGR valve was fitted and after a re-learn the issue was resolved. Just another thought..........................
Morning John, in my experience of remapping companies they usually save your original map. That way if you’re having issues they can revert back to standard.
Hi John, I have a couple of these vans 2016 & 2021 when putting foot down to overtake a wagon van just cut out completely had to stop then restart this went on for months changed the injectors no more problems not cheep about £800 but well worth it hope you get yours sorted😊
Get a leak off test done on the injectors, a single leaking injector (not externally, but back in the return) can cause the rail and high pressure side to drop below the 300-500 bar it needs.
I have heard multiple complaints of Carly service. Dont think you are alone. I think its way overpriced with the 100 quid annual renewal. Its refreshing to not see a TH-camr pushing out Carly as a sponsorship not mentioning the cost is annual.
I had a problem with last van and it couldn’t get the lights go out, went to main dealer who were next to useless, said nothing wrong with it. Eventually Halfords garage sorted me out, got rid of van as became to costly. Hope you get sorted and find someone😊
When I needed to replace my AirBag ECU, the software that was commonly recommended was MultiECUscan. It was someone else who did it so I cant personally attest.
Hi John, thank you for this video. I was considering purchasing the Carly system, but after hearing of your issues with their support service, I'll look elsewhere.
Hi john I have a peugeot boxer 2017 and have just gone through this. Turned out to be my injectors. I got a recon set from Germany for £300 and now all running nice
Try Mass airflow sensor if that’s faulty the van will cut out and this controls the fuel to your van and can make the engine stall and cut out and you will need to restart
Just to send a message. I am in the process of buying a reader/scanner and THAT is bad customer service (not necessarily a scam, but still). I will buy the other companys reader/scanner just because of that...
Hi John few things to check first clutch brake switch , sticking , vehicle thinks brake pressed when throttle pedal pressed , will go in to down grade losses power, second thing with the fuel leaking flow regulator on pump , poss sticking or split seal , because works on rail pressure not correct so reg will open more but I position of reg is incorrect due to fuel leaking past , hope this helps
Hi John, just been watching your video,I work for one of the big motoring organisations and the scanner we have built into our laptops gets regular updates over internet , but the scan tool that plugs into the vehicle wont work until its plugged into a vehicle to power it up then there is a program to UPDATE FIRMWARE which takes several mins then it becomes compatible with all the updates etc. The carly system may work in a similar way. Hope you get it sorted soon.
We had a car that was giving errors on an odb2 reader. We found there was water ingress on a component in the passenger footwell. The problem was it was affecting comms on the canbus which will give you all sorts of misleading messages.
Hi John. Informative video as usual - thanks! You mention replacing your "top tint" on the windscreen. Will you video it being done or have you done this previously please? My TH-cam searches didn't find anything.
Hi, the clutch peddle sensor uses the 5v refrance of the engine ECU and spikes the ecu / cutting the vehicle dead until you reset the ecu by recycling the ignition.. new clutch peddle switch should sort it ..
Hi John i had my camper re mapped at one of the warner shows , i had my doubts ,about having it done ,after 4 weeks it burned my clutch out , they had my saved data from ecu and they put it back one ,i should check with who done yours and get it put back to normal 👌
Hi John. I bought a diagnostic thingy from Halfords. Cost about £40. I really only wanted it to cancel those annoying faults that pop up but aren’t a problem. Might be worth a punt.
There’s always something to try you at the moment x hope you get sorted and Mandy sorted too x I honestly don’t know how you keep so cool x the screen looks brilliant and I’m sure with all your know how on engines the van will be glitch free soon x
Hi John I have a TOPDON 600S and I have use it to clear ECU codes bleed ABS and reset PDF'S on my motorhome ducato 3l and a vauxhall movano, I find it works very well for the price and it also comes with lifetime updates is comparable with a lot of these expensive units
Hi. Same here with Carly, I use EOBD-Facile now and it’s fine. Regarding the remap have you spoken to A1 Remapping in Willerby (near the McDonald’s roundabout) - they where going to take my remap off (not done by them) but I decided to leave it in the end
Quite often when it reports a leak its because of low fuel pressure.. Its logik works it out that the required pressure is not getting to the fuel rail so must be leaking from somewhere... As previously said try the fuel filter... also egr valves give simular fault symptoms....
Get yourself an Autel AP200. Bought mine 5 years ago and still great today. Cost I think about £55 back then and you get one manufacturer free, in my case Jaguar and others can be added for an annual fee. There are no ongoing fees, if you just want the one manufacturer. It can do allsorts, including coding new keys in.
Hi John, regarding your windscreen was the crack at the top? If so this could have been caused by the top tint! I've spent 20 years fitting window film and because the screen is laminated if you only film part of it you can get thermal cracking where as on side glass which is toughened it's not a problem. When you fit the new tint feel the temperature difference between the tinted part and lower down the screen, on a sunny day the difference is massive and the laminated glass isn't happy! Hope this makes sense? If you but a scree with the top tint factory fitted it's in-between the two layers of glass and not a problem, or use an external film and put it on the outside! But looks crap. One last thing do you still get sun in the UK??
Hi John Ask your mechanic to do leak back test on the injectors first before paying loads money on remap and deleting dpf reason why excessive leak back on the injectors it will only be one of the injector causing the fault telling fuel regulator shut engine off or limp mode
Hi John. Could it be a partially blocked fuel filter? The sensor for the obd2 would be on the HP side of the pump but if insufficient fuel was getting to the sensor, it would think you have a leak. A partial blockage would be particularly noticeable on hard acceleration like you described. It would also be the easiest to check/replace.
John it might be worth bringing your van into a Peugeot dealership for an in depth diagnostic session. At least they should have the factory standard diagnostic tools to hand and possibly reset the ecu back to standard. That should give you a baseline to work from if you want to remap it in the future.
I've had past problems with remapping... I find plug and play modules a much better option. I have two vehicles fitted with products from Racechip , a German company with a very good reputation. Don't have your DPF cut out and mapped out because you will have a world of problems, noise and smoke issues. Also MOT failure. Get the engine running as it should and you will have no problems.
I have a Racechip too, on a 115bhp Ducato Multijet2 , which I bought in a flashsale during covid lockdown - cheaper than a remap and I liked the idea of easy removal if ever needing to return to stock. There are naysayers on the web that claim such "piggyback" chips don't work, but generally speaking I'm pretty happy with it. Obviously didn't come with a dyno session, so I can't verify the claimed extra 30% power & torque, but it subjectively feels more powerful and is definitely more flexible to drive with improved fuel economy too.
My work van does this. Not quite to that extent but basically as you say putting a LOAD on the engine. So uphill low RPM which causes you to put ya foot down over 80% for couple seconds it then goes into limp mode for about 5 seconds then fixes itself. Has done it before took it garage has had injectors twice and a fuel rail or something but still does it just not as bad so I just live with it xD Just rev it up a bit or slowly accelerate. As for the remap had this issue with my motorcycle when I had a fault on it. None of the genuine kawasaki dealers wanted to give me their time, I even went back to the previous tuner and put the stock map on it and kawsaki still refused to look at the bike, 3 different dealers.... One said "oh we can't access the ECU bcus the tuner would have put a key code on it" which was utter BS as I asked the tuner and he said that is not true!! garages just don't want to fix stuff anymore they want easy service work which we can all do our bloody selves. new vehicles getting more and more complicated with no actual support. :( Hope you get it sorted. Just an idea to change the fuel filter if it's cheap enough and check fuel rail pressure. My mothers diesel had a really bad issue once and it was just some bad fuel, changed fuel filter was fixed.
Hi just had same problem cutting out on motoways boxer van computer was saying add blue problem replaced every part of the add blue system was sitll doing it turned out to be a faulty injector .i now use carista for my vehicle scanning .
Is your air mass meter reading the volume of air entering the engine correctly or a faulty map sensor unsure of the system, i think your going in the right direction, if the engine thinks there more air entering the engine it will over fuel
My Relay 2.2 cuts out when slowing down from high speed, on a pressed clutch (essentially freewheeling while braking). I now only go down through the gears, and it doesn't happen.
Hi John nice video thanks for sharing. Just wanted to let you no I had exact same symptoms as you but in a non mapped diesel car and all error codes were complaining about fuel. Long story short my issue was a stuck egr valve so if you have one which guessing you might if not had dpf delete yet then that could be same for you. Hope that helps
Some Of them have a low pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank that gives the same fault codes if its failed... Do not do a DPF delete.. Dpf only block if you have an issue.. I.e fuel injector fault or something as simple as an ambient air sensor. Deleting the dpf is only masking the issue..
Sounds like the non return valve on the comon rail feeding the injectors it will show low fuel pressure, its a spring and ball bearing if it gets contaminated with dirt fuel leaks bak and starves tge engine. When you turn of the egnition and restart the engine the pressure returns until you floor the throttle then the same again.
hi john, just a thought , i had the same warnings / diagnostic faults as you on the same van. turned out to be the swirl pot that the fuel pump sits in in the fuel tank allows the fuel in via a tiny trap door at the bottom. when my tank was full there was enough head of pressure to allow the fuel to enter, but as soon as the fuel level dropped the trap closed and swirl pot empties , so the pump wouldnt get enough fuel but the pump is still running thinking its got a mass fuel leek. hope its of some help
I had a sudden problem with my car. Started it in the driveway OK, switched off. One hour later went to start it and it would not idle. What can suddenly go wrong. So decided to buy a scanner and after a day researching, buying one like Carly which then connects to an app is that with errors from the reviews. So I bought an all in one and it found my problem. In fact I bought one from a German company who only make scanners.
Change fuel filter because when it gets clogged it doesn’t deliver the right quantity of fuel in the time frame needed so the engine starves of fuel hence that’s why you get those errors and engine playing and don’t delete DPF because if it gets clogged you can get it cleaned professionally by chemical at high pressure or cut it and heat it at high temperature until it turns red hot which will burn all the blockage then blow it with high pressure air gun, it’ll be as good as new
Fuel injector or throttle/pedal position sensor. Maybe start adding some WD40 to the injectors at the top in case you have to pull one out in few days, guessing you you keep water out of that area already from the scuttle and spray once and a while.
Hi John, I started to look into buying the carly and since then I have been sent emails almost on a daily basis. Guess I'll be telling them to _uck off now. Thanks for the heads up
Do an injector leak off test - this is most likely an injector fault. Had this exact issue on one of our vans. I’d replace all injectors even if it is just one. What you are describing is an imbalanced injector. Common fault from say 5 years old onwards.
Carly is only good if you pay for the subscription every single year which is a con. I now have obd11 which I don’t have to pay yearly for to read codes and reset them.
Hi John, did you get anywhere with Carly? I got one and it doesn't seem to work with my car but they seem to be ignoring me. What's the best way to contact them? Thanks
Sounds like a bad injector leaking back, I tried half a dozen different OBD scanner devices with the Boxer I had but ended up with a laptop and a Lexia interface and Diagbox setup as nothing else wanted to communicate with the ECU. The vans use "different protocols" to passenger cars apparently. Never did get to the bottom of the running issues with mine and sold it in the end and pulling out all of my remaining hair......
@@GadgetJohn I did wonder if that was the problem with mine (dodgy remapping) as it "allegedly" had 180BHP when I bought it and to be fair when it was running ok it went well. In the end I got rid as no garage would look at it, they are all "very busy" all of a sudden when you have got a sick common rail diesel.... It just used to randomly lose power at partial throttle openings which made it horrible to drive.
John, have you tried Mobile Auto Tuning Newark? Did a very reliable remap on my motorhome Peugeot Boxer 2.0 160bhp. I didn't do it for the power either but it's nearly 200bhp now..... lots of people look surprised when leaving traffic lights 🤣
The more bells and whistles we get on our vehicles the greater number of warning lights we get going off. I know heehaw about cars and when a flashing light comes on I panic! Then it turns out to be something stupid like the wishy washy needs fluid or a tyre pressure is low. 😅
It might be worth getting the Injectors tested as thats normally what causes a rail pressure fault they could be returning to much fuel which ecu is thinking a leak or (leak off) Its better to be safe than sorry as a dodgy Injector can cause melted pistons so engine failure this is a thing with common rail diesels
Didn’t use Carly, but I sent the reader back that I purchased as it didn’t pick up anything even though my dashboard looked like Blackpool illuminations. 1000’s of positive reviews on Amazon aswell?! 🙈 On another note…when did Jason Statham start working for Autoglass? 😜
I had considered remapping at some point but after much research, I felt that the process was not without risk and decided against it. Carly’s subscription model has a lot of poor reviews. That really put me off. I got a hardware device instead with free lifetime updates.
Hi John, interesting video as always.

I had a problem with last van and it couldn’t get the lights go out, went to main dealer who were next to useless, said nothing wrong with it. Eventually Halfords garage sorted me out, got rid of van as became to costly. Hope you get sorted and find someone😊
John. I have an Autel MK808 scanner and I'll be around Glews garage area near Goole on Saturday if you want to meet up and plug it in.
I second the Autel too, nice all in one kit. Bought Amazon next day delivery when on hols in motorhome, Peugeot Boxer 2.0 160bhp. 👍
When I needed to replace my AirBag ECU, the software that was commonly recommended was MultiECUscan. It was someone else who did it so I cant personally attest.
I read somewhere that once you have remapped scanners don't work as well .
If the remap has not took into account the fuel or air mixture..Have the remap removed Put back to stock and see if that helps.
The Carly needs updating, it’s a good piece of kit! If it’s good enough for REPerformance it’s good enough for pretty much anyone
Hi John, thank you for this video. I was considering purchasing the Carly system, but after hearing of your issues with their support service, I'll look elsewhere.
Pay extra and buy an Autel , they have actual humans on customer service
Hi John, check your EGR valve they always block up . U can remove it clean it out , it’s a bit of a job but definitely worth doing .
Hi john I have a peugeot boxer 2017 and have just gone through this. Turned out to be my injectors. I got a recon set from Germany for £300 and now all running nice
I can show you photos of aa computer to show you this
Try Mass airflow sensor if that’s faulty the van will cut out and this controls the fuel to your van and can make the engine stall and cut out and you will need to restart
Try EOBD Facile OBD software , also it can be used with an OBD adapter for around £10 plenty about , enjoy
Start with the fuel filter
Already tried that 👍🏻🤦🏼♂️
Hi John, just been watching your video,I work for one of the big motoring organisations and the scanner we have built into our laptops gets regular updates over internet , but the scan tool that plugs into the vehicle wont work until its plugged into a vehicle to power it up then there is a program to UPDATE FIRMWARE which takes several mins then it becomes compatible with all the updates etc. The carly system may work in a similar way. Hope you get it sorted soon.
Hi John my wife had a Audi remapped had loads of problems took back to standard run fine
Try Pendle Performance. Very knowledgeable and will help with previous remap issues.
I've been using an OBDLINK LX on my 2010 Kia Rio for over 6 years. I mostly use it with Torque Pro as the OEM software is sometimes glitchy.
I read your title wrong, thought someone was saying you where a Scammer! Shock horror😂 Good job I carried on watching. Good info as usual.
Hi John get a launch 919x where you can reset the ecu
Bought mine 2 wees ago. Same lights as yours. Maybee you got the updated one.
Great info all round there. Thanks for another excellent video John.
Hi. Had exactly the same problem. Turned out to be one of the fuel injectors. Good luck
Thanks 👍🏻
Same here 👍🏻
Calling for boost on the turbo its possibly a boost leak, smoke test needed for a possible seal gone. Just a thought
Hi john we are at wf on Monday i shall bring my blue driver for you to try.
Got this on my van it’s a tuning box, may be worth talking too
Looking forward to see how you get on John.
Good luck 👍
Be safe
Thanks 👍
Good luck I hope you get it fully sorted. 👍
Thanks 👍
Get yourself an Autel AP200.
Bought mine 5 years ago and still great today.
Cost I think about £55 back then and you get one manufacturer free, in my case Jaguar and others can be added for an annual fee.
There are no ongoing fees, if you just want the one manufacturer.
It can do allsorts, including coding new keys in.
I'm hoping all works ok but I guessing the only issue will be when it goes for a MOT? They don't like warning lights on these days.
Hi John
Ask your mechanic to do leak back test on the injectors first before paying loads money on remap and deleting dpf reason why excessive leak back on the injectors it will only be one of the injector causing the fault telling fuel regulator shut engine off or limp mode
The errors show fuel leak du to more fuel, rather than less fuel, is being sent to the injectors.
@@GadgetJohn ah, yes....fair enough 😮
I got a Bluetooth OBD2 plug from ebay for £7 and the TorquePro app on my phone. Does much the same thing.
John it might be worth bringing your van into a Peugeot dealership for an in depth diagnostic session. At least they should have the factory standard diagnostic tools to hand and possibly reset the ecu back to standard. That should give you a baseline to work from if you want to remap it in the future.
I’d rather eat my own 💩 than take my vehicle to a main stealer
@@GadgetJohn well I hope that you find a sh1t hot independent specialist with the right diagnostic kit and skills.
@@GadgetJohn Totally agree John. They are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard and rip you off at the same time.
Here in colonies the blue driver pro is unit of choice.
My mothers diesel had a really bad issue once and it was just some bad fuel, changed fuel filter was fixed.
good see you put vid out on channel good vid on you ned screen thanks lee
Pity to hear about Carly , but many of the car channels I watch use Autel , which are far more expensive , but they actually work
Hi John nice video thanks for sharing. Just wanted to let you no I had exact same symptoms as you but in a non mapped diesel car and all error codes were complaining about fuel. Long story short my issue was a stuck egr valve so if you have one which guessing you might if not had dpf delete yet then that could be same for you. Hope that helps
👍wait to see results
Some Of them have a low pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank that gives the same fault codes if its failed... Do not do a DPF delete.. Dpf only block if you have an issue.. I.e fuel injector fault or something as simple as an ambient air sensor. Deleting the dpf is only masking the issue..
Good lord thank god my van is 30yrs old and has plugs and points 😂
Had problems with mine, throttle cable was £3.45 and the condenser was £2.50 luckily I didn't need diagnostic equipment lol.
Have you changed your fuel filter? This would cause this problem
..you Have an Opportunity~!!!😃
Sounds like the non return valve on the comon rail feeding the injectors it will show low fuel pressure, its a spring and ball bearing if it gets contaminated with dirt fuel leaks bak and starves tge engine. When you turn of the egnition and restart the engine the pressure returns until you floor the throttle then the same again.
Hi John, what ODBII System did you settle on?
This is the one I bought after the Carly amzn.to/46xh7Qt
I Think its more likely that the app on the phone updated but the carly device firmware hasn't been.
It’s one of the throttle realise I had the same problem but I don’t know which one so they put free in and then you pay out😊
hi john, just a thought , i had the same warnings / diagnostic faults as you on the same van. turned out to be the swirl pot that the fuel pump sits in in the fuel tank allows the fuel in via a tiny trap door at the bottom. when my tank was full there was enough head of pressure to allow the fuel to enter, but as soon as the fuel level dropped the trap closed and swirl pot empties , so the pump wouldnt get enough fuel but the pump is still running thinking its got a mass fuel leek. hope its of some help
I now have obd11 which I don’t have to pay yearly for to read codes and reset them.
if the software works with you van don`t update. the updates are for newer models . plus nice to see the cheapo £5 ones are about the same..
Hi John, did you get anywhere with Carly? I got one and it doesn't seem to work with my car but they seem to be ignoring me. What's the best way to contact them? Thanks
Hi john hope you get it sorted did you receive your hose clips ?
Sounds like a bad injector leaking back, I tried half a dozen different OBD scanner devices with the Boxer I had but ended up with a laptop and a Lexia interface and Diagbox setup as nothing else wanted to communicate with the ECU. The vans use "different protocols" to passenger cars apparently. Never did get to the bottom of the running issues with mine and sold it in the end and pulling out all of my remaining hair......
It was fine before the remap and has been fine since the old remap was removed
@@GadgetJohn I did wonder if that was the problem with mine (dodgy remapping) as it "allegedly" had 180BHP when I bought it and to be fair when it was running ok it went well. In the end I got rid as no garage would look at it, they are all "very busy" all of a sudden when you have got a sick common rail diesel.... It just used to randomly lose power at partial throttle openings which made it horrible to drive.
Try Darkside Developments diesel tuners roughly up your end of the country
John, have you tried Mobile Auto Tuning Newark? Did a very reliable remap on my motorhome Peugeot Boxer 2.0 160bhp. I didn't do it for the power either but it's nearly 200bhp now..... lots of people look surprised when leaving traffic lights 🤣
John, can you not go back or contact the company the remapped the van..? Maybe there’s a tweak they could suggest or carry out..?
The more bells and whistles we get on our vehicles the greater number of warning lights we get going off. I know heehaw about cars and when a flashing light comes on I panic! Then it turns out to be something stupid like the wishy washy needs fluid or a tyre pressure is low. 😅
Fuel pump john
How do you cancel your auto renewal on Carly?
It might be worth getting the Injectors tested as thats normally what causes a rail pressure fault they could be returning to much fuel which ecu is thinking a leak or (leak off)
Its better to be safe than sorry as a dodgy Injector can cause melted pistons so engine failure this is a thing with common rail diesels
Didn’t use Carly, but I sent the reader back that I purchased as it didn’t pick up anything even though my dashboard looked like Blackpool illuminations. 1000’s of positive reviews on Amazon aswell?! 🙈
On another note…when did Jason Statham start working for Autoglass? 😜
I had considered remapping at some point but after much research, I felt that the process was not without risk and decided against it.
Carly’s subscription model has a lot of poor reviews. That really put me off. I got a hardware device instead with free lifetime updates.
Jhon maybe the remap is confusing the early scanner ? Or the software in the van
Thanks for that,,,
