Interesting that you noticed so many security forces while in Grozny. I don't recall seeing very many back in 2018. I thought the Mosque in Grozny is one of the nicest I've ever visited. It's very tasteful and on a very human scale. Sort of surprising when you take into consideration the somewhat over the top nature of other constructions in Grozny.
I think someone would have to be half insane to take a marshrutka from Grozny to anywhere in Dagestan, the driving in Dagestan is beyond chaotic.
What is a marshrutka? Is that a bus?
@@wernerdanler2742 Yes small busses that run a regular route or sort of like a group taxi. Still common in most of the countries that made up the USSR and also Israel.

@@doc7austin I also share the opinion, but I'm just commenting that in all of America from pole to pole you will only see diesel locomotives on the trains on the main lines with few exceptions, my congratulations for your work.

Thanks for another great trip report, complete with Etihad boarding music. These train cruises are interesting concepts. I’m interested that you point out track conditions. I suggest you avoid Australian trains in that case!
the track is usually pretty well-maintained in Russia - with exception to Chechnya

Is Gudermes Central Mosque same as Akhmad Kadyrov Mosque?
the gudermes mosque very similar, but a bit smaller than the mosque in grozny
Some of the Russian dishes served in the train are popular in the former DDR German Democratic Republic East Germany. If I were you I would try comparing the original Russian version to the ones found in former East Germany
