That Raber guy tried to scam me aswell the absolute fruitcake, was just afk at GE in max range/tbow and he comes upto me asking for 30k feathers, adds me. Talks to me for a bit, asks where i'm from. Seemingly stirs up genuine conversation he told me he's from the Netherlands etc. It's super pathetic they try to socially manipulate you for some gold on a pixel game lmao. I was big on pvp years ago with clanning so i knew all the shit stunts people try to lure with. Did the same dd under him and loot the 2 whips while he drops an arcane 2 steps away.
Very persistent, pretended i had to go and the next few days he tries it again and again more desperate each time.
I love that you guys are basically doing exactly what the IRL scam baiters (triologymedia, pleasantgreen, Jim Browning, etc.) are doing in their fight against scam call centers.

Ever since I bought my twisted bow, I have immediately put anyone who tries to get my attention using my Rsn at the GE on my ignore list. Never gotten so much attention since I bought a tbow in the 18 years I've played this game, so it all makes sense to me. Not to mention watching KempQ videos specifically have taught me to never trust a soul for any reason ever.
The best thing for runescape might be removing trading again.

So far I'm up 120K on them but I didn't know if you wanted to use this bait for the alliance. I'm happy to do whatever is needed, I'm definitely not going to attempt anything myself. But the exact situation that happened in this video is happening to me right now. I was wearing torva / ToA gear at G.E and they came up to me in full max

I'm so sad about what you said in your intro, it's so true. People really just don't talk much at all anymore. I've been making it a point to talk to people whenever I'm skilling or even whenever I just see someone pass me doing slayer. The amount of *real* replies I've been getting isn't great, but the occasional conversation does bring a smile to my face.
I posted under Pip's video but that exact team of scammers got me for a tbow just a few months ago. Felt really bad, dude acted like my friend for an entire month messaging me every day lmao and at the time i was a solo player and hadn't made any friends yet. Almost made me quit but glad it didn't :)
SPOONSAILOR is the same guy that tried getting me. He named changed to Sijfer. He had my rsn added to the spam bots at the ge and told me 500m to have it removed. Anytime I see people trying that stuff I warn the person about what's going on.

While i fully support this i hope you understand your going to inspire a alot of people to attempt to anti scam who you know full well are going to fail despite you saying not to do it. Its very good to have content that highlights how people these scams work so people can avoid them but inspiring a team of anti scammers to band together will have alot of people try and fail.
Obviously its going to be their own fault when they do fail but very much something to consider with your narrative.
Imagine exposing a account to Jagex which is maxed in and best gear and it still doesn't get banned - Great work Jagex.
Jagex even has the power to IP grab the account threatening peoples life and report them to the police but I dont think they will.

What's worse about lurers is they ruin it also for the genuine players. You can't ask someone to buy you something at the g.e if you are limit because people just think its a scam. You can only make new friends under certain circumstances because again you have to worry they aren't legit.

I got into the mid game and quit OSRS because of what you mentioned in the first 20 seconds. It felt like a solo rpg with enemy pcs. I should mention that I started last year and have zero nostalgia for the game.
And on that day, an alliance was formed.
Fueled by a righteous hunger and thirst for justice, they marched on. Laughing in the face of danger and intimidation, their work continued and their cause grew ever greater.
Many cheered their work, openly supporting them with open arms. Others plotted and schemed for their downfall, and some, oblivious to their cause, would never come to know the benefit they reaped from their presence.

Hi Kemp. Wanted to say I love listening to your videos during my long work shifts cleaning. You've got a great voice for this kind of thing. I don't play OSRS because I started my journey in 2006 and didn't want to start fresh in the OSRS servers. However I do enjoy hearing about these kinds of things. Unfortunately we all play a game together that has a company that is very good at sitting on its hands at the helm of the ship, and when hands get sit on there becomes the issue of a commandless ship. OSRS's extremely out of control bot problems and the brazen money snagging problems over at RS3. I can handle micro transactions in a "free game", but when battle passes come out suspiciously designed to entice you to buy ranks with your money because the crawl to advance is infinitesimal in its initial release then I won't give you more of mine. Something is wrong if players who play their game for a living have to fix it for them so people aren't stolen from or having their lives threatened... It shouldn't be up to players to protect themselves from themselves. The business we pay money for should be taking care of it in our stead. It is a 20yo title and these problems are thing of the past in a lot of games today. You've had 20 years jagex! It is time to grow up and clean your room!

Kempq, idk if you read these but what if jagex made fairy rings last destination option specific to certain rings, for ecample when fishing karamjams you could one click back to chasm of fire and then one click back to the gnome glider instead of having to configure every single time.

@KempQ I could tell you some of the things that I was a part of when I was 14. We mixed bug abuse with luring and it got pretty messy for a minute. This was 11 years ago, but I could demonstrate how dangerous dropping items in general could be. You never know what glitches the underground discover, careful when dealing with these people.
What happened
A friend of mine found a glitch that let you click the dueling cap and spawn an insanely high number of statues underneath a player. If somebody dropped an item, their item was gone. My friend didn’t lure, he showed me it and I leaked it to the whole community before I could do anything with it. All you had to do was convince someone at the GE to drop an item for 5 seconds and the item was gone. It was bad.
It was originally called a pet null, the game would think your player was logged out and you could drop an infinite number of pets under a players item. People were willing to pay billions for the thing, it’s crazy what people do for GP. My own “friends” of over a year were trying to lure me on alt accounts.
and yeah, they would DDoS me and try to DOX me. Blackmailed for 400m RS3 one time and ddosed til I swapped IPs. Bad news all around the community.

This literally happened to me like 6 months ago and I got the spectral on an alt they didn't know I was logging into.
It's so obvious that some drama is going to start out of having a group of "anti-lurers" give it a few months surely someone in the group will lose their shit
imagine being jagex watching this and realizing that content creators and the community is doing more against this shit then they have in 20 years
