      Electric doesn't mean "no clutch". It can be designed clutch-less but that's a riding ergos vs weight design decision. E-Trials bikes, for example, still need a clutch for ultimate control. Manufacturers will try different things while they can, but it'll settle down and you'll have choices.
      Personally I'll take the much better power/torque curve Electric will have, at lower weights.
      How about a built in sound system so you can make up some engine noise if that really ends up being your complaint. Or a little self contained single cylinder 2 cycle battery pack heater, for noise, smell and that "hybrid" tag. 😅

    • @heboray
      @heboray ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AmeriMutt76 no sorry! Electric motor are all about torq! When you buy a motorcycle its because of the engine! (Sounds-feeling-torq spec-rpm) i just don’t like electric feeling and very heavy machine!

    • @AmeriMutt76
      @AmeriMutt76 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @heboray it's all about what's fun to ride, I can agree there.
      As far as Electric=Torque, sure, it can if that's what your design goals are. It can also mean lighter weight, if that's the goal. There are e-trials bikes that weigh closer to a big MTB than a small 125, with swappable batteries. If you aren't going long distance, riding around a vehicle and trailer, there's going to be a bike for that.
      Even though Electric motors are older as a concept than ICE, "electrifying everything" is new, as far as designing products goes. I already see some interesting designs that think outside the box.
      VW built their ID.R for one purpose, to win one race. And they easily set a new record on the Pikes Peak Unlimited division. This will be the story until Battery tech takes away the last big disadvantage, range. Then all bets are off and your ride will be as much fun as your imagination allows.
      But if your fun is too much tied to "Nostalgia" factors like sounds and smells, sorry, I guess?

      This is a fairly new thing in terms of development compared to centuries of internal combustion development and refinement.
      In terms of power delivery and output, electric motors blow ICE out of the water; the only issue now is battery technology and safety.
      Give it some time; things will get lighter and faster, especially if the fuel cell becomes a thing or we simply go for green fuel.

    • @cafesociety8525
      @cafesociety8525 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Fearless154 both the electric motor and batteries considerably predate ICE and have been developed continuously during that time. There were huge electric powered submarines in use the year (1888) Daimler invented his car and the first patent for electric motor cycles was 1895, just one year after the first ICE motorcycle was released. 100 years ago they were racing ICE at the nurburgring yet today a Tesla manages about half a lap at full power before overheating and entering limp mode. Instant torque from electric motors is useless in motorcycles and has to be limited to prevent high side crashes (just like it does with high power ice) negating its potential power advantages. Anyone that rides knows weight is the true enemy of a motorcycle so until they can shave 70+kg off this bike it won't be as enjoyable (the most important metric for motorcycles) to ride as an ICE powered one and until it can ride the same number of miles and be charged in the same amount of time as it could be filled with fuel it's an inconvenience. Until it's better it's worse and so far its had 128 years of being worse... maybe one day though. Until then, hella cool? Hell no.

    • @Fearless154
      @Fearless154 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cafesociety8525
      That's simply not true; electric bikes like the Energica Ego have insane torque that blows any superbike off the line while having a smooth throttle response.
      Yes, it's heavy, and you can feel it if you quickly change directions from side to side, but it's still a very capable track weapon and extremely fun to ride, be it on the canyon rides or the track. The only issue is the battery; if you are a quick rider, you'll have about 50 minutes before you need to recharge, but the recharge takes about 40 minutes.
      If you have a charger at the gas station near the track, it won't be an issue, and you can charge the bike between the sessions.
      I'm a club racer, and I would enjoy owning an Ego as one of my track bikes because it's so much fun and easy to ride. It's still not there to compete with 1000cc and 600cc supersports and superbikes at the highest level, but you don't need to, and the vast majority of riders won't be riding at that level anyway.
      I recommend you test-ride Energica bikes and see for yourself.
      As far as my experience goes, I'm not worried about the future, be it electric or green fuel.
