- We'd come back from a bikepacking trip to Scotland with Lyme Disease.
We both felt pretty rubbish but already had a few days booked off for another trip.
This just happened to fall on the first sunny days in weeks. We'd also heard 'light' exercise was recommended...
And so, we went on a 'recovery ride' to explore the Eastern Lakes and Ullswater.

I love seeing your films! Glad you're both feeling better. :)
Thanks Gillian 🙂 feeling much better now!
Always a pleasure to see you out …always makes me wanna Chuck on my shorts and get out on my bike …been looking to do an adventure …really fancy trans peninne trail and there’s a new cycle track opened going from Berwick upon tweed all way down to Bridlington over 300 miles ..need to make a few changes to my ride but deffo next year a great adventure. Hope you’re both getting over the illness bloody ticks. Atb Coops 👍🏻👍🏻🚴🚴
We've heard good things about the Trans Pennine. We stay with a great Warm Showers host right by it near Warrington, I can send you their details if you like? There's also the Kirkpatrick c2c which is meant to be ace!
Great video - really like the photography in this one. Sorry to hear you both got sick after your last trip. Best wishes.
I am loving your videos and what a fine way to live in such a fine part of the country. Haven't been to the Lakes for decades, so your window into the soul of the place is very welcome. Really well put together too. Glad to see you're getting over the Lymes (and by now no doubt fully recovered). Having badly broken my ankle earlier in the year, it's videos like yours which are giving me hope that soon enough I'll get back out into the wilderness myself. Thank you.
Really glad you liked them and they can inspire you to visit the lakes again. A beautiful party of the world. We are now fully over the Lymes. Hope you recover fully soon, I think it's important not to do too much too soon.
Excellent video! Just what I want to see after my long and busy train ride in Tokyo. I'm glad you're both feeling much better! 😊
Glad we could bring the Cumbrian hills to Tokyo!!
Cracking video. Very well done both.
Brilliant video and glad your getting over the Lymes disease! Find your adventures really uplifting!
Cheers David! Yep, definitely seeing the back of it now. Was a lethargic few weeks 😅
Looks like a beautiful area! and a fantastic way to get back on the bikes
It was really beautiful. Loads of great hikes and scrambles around there too so gotta get back with more days!
Great video! Very nice drone footage. Such a beautiful area of the UK. You guys are amazing that despite the Lyme disease you’re still out there. Totally impressed!
Thank you! The drone is great fir getting a real feel for the vastness of the landscape, we love it
Looks like I need to catch up with your Summer adventures. Sorry to hear you got Lyme disease .. a warning to us all. But relieved to see you're both back on your uppers.♥
Very much back 😁 Hope you're enjoying ya summer Peter!
Another great video and yes I did enjoy the cooking section, I always miss with the trangia lid to snuff the flame out, I now have some leather gloves, so no missing in future. I'm so sorry to hear you both have Limes, that is a bugger, bloody Scotland, I couldnt believe how many you had on you when you were on Mull, its the only thing I hate about the countryside up here, is the ticks, I can put up with most other critters. The swim was lovely to see, but I'm not sure how you got the section with Sarah past TH-cam 😉. The camera work is getting better and better, the quaility is first class. As you know I enjoy all your content, so please keep it coming. I hope the recovery continues. ATB Big Dave Scotland
I think we're planning one of our next videos to be very focused. Love cooking and really enjoyable filming so glad it's going down well. Definitely seeing the back of Lymes and not holding any grudges. Looking at Jura and Islay next month for some distillery hopping 👌 ha, always nice to find secluded spots! Appreciate the comments on the filming. Loving getting stuck in and learning more so feels good when people notice improvements. Thanks bud!
It's Lovely area around Ullswater. I remember going to that waterfall some years ago. Lyme disease can be nasty. Glad you are getting over it..
Yes the waterfalls are very impressive there. Yes definateky over it now thankfully, just needed some r&r
@@joshandsarahride Very pleased to hear that Josh and Sarah. Nasty little things, ticks
Another nice we video, if you doing Islay and Jura there are plenty of your Tic friends there so be warned. Get some deet and a roll of sticky tape.
Hopefully your getting over your Lymes disease and hopefully it’s not left you feeling too fatigued just pace yourself. Your both certainly looking well.
Thanks Swampy. We'd heard the ticks had been bad on Jura this summer. Do you know if things drop off much towards the end of September? Will be very careful and take things easy 🙂
@@joshandsarahride it’s quite dependant on the weather but with more deer and sheep than humans on the island I reckon they will still be crawling about.
Just make sure your on short grass but it won’t matter even if your coastal they will still be lurking until it comes to November.
@@SwampyDuckRidesAgain3636 eeesh, there was me thinking they'd be off after the school holidays... 😅
@@joshandsarahride 🤣
Lovely adventure 👍 and just love the edit of the photos, is it a fuji preset or your own recipe?
Own recipe on a fuji camera
Another fab video, and great ride, hike n swim. How was the Neoair? I'm on my third after two faulty. It's comfy but so noisy directly on my tent floor. Now carrying sheet to put between tent floor and sleep pad, quietens it down considerably!
Hey Jen. Sorry to hear about the NeoAir. To be honest, we had two NeoAir X Lites fail about a year ago and were put off. The Topo Luxe is a bit heavier duty so I'm hoping it does better. The Nemo pad is absolutely lovely to sleep on so I think the insulated version is a good option.
Whats the name of the pump you were using at around 12:48 Josh?
