Kenny was one of my dad's favorites so I grew up on him. Lionel was one of my favorites growing up... teen of the 80s and all that. I turned 50 this year. Kenny passing hit me pretty hard.
The music I was lucky enough to grow up with changes people and worlds. I was very fortunate to experience this

Two people that were more than friends they were like brothers, ❤❤❤❤ Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers. These two great singer-songwriters had heard each other's music before they ever met and already respected each other. Once they met and got to writing the lyrics and words to this song. They started to be great friends. More than that though, if they happen to be out on the road in the same city doing concerts, they would hang out together. If they both happen to be off the road at their own home's they would call up each other and hang out together. They went from merely being great friends to more like brothers. Lord they like to kid around with each other and playing jokes on each other. This deep brotherly Love lasted until the day that Kenny Rogers died. On that day that Kenny Rogers died Lionel Richie was just devastated at the loss of his Spirit brother. R.I.P. Kenny Rogers, 🥺🥺🥺💔💔💔💔😢😢🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 . You know they're deep friendship and everything just goes to prove it doesn't matter what color or race you are FRIENDSHIP doesn't look at what color or race you are it's the person on the inside in their heart and soul . Damn wouldn't it be nice if we could all learn to be that way instead of letting hate sometimes make things all screwed up ? I used to serve Lionel in a restaurant in West Hollywood. He loved cappuccino with a scoop of chocolate ice cream for dessert. Thought you'd enjoy that ! I served many "stars ". Eddie Murphy, John Goodman, Patrick Swayze, Richard Marx many more..
