yess, especially with curly hair, it would be extremely dry despite the styling method, how much conditioners I used.

ACV is the best way to close your cuticles! I no longer need to mess around with LCO/LOC...I just spritz with acv/water mix (1:3 parts) while my conditioner is siting on my hair and rinse everything out. My high porosity hair has had close cuticles for the last 5 days and it's been humid where I live....no frizz and way less breakage! ACV is the truth!

I hate how ACV leaves my hair feeling super stiff, stringy & like the strands could snap off at any second. First time I used it I thought I had given myself protein overload just to find out my ACV rinse was actually the culprit 🫤

@@ROZIEEEE Oh noo! How much ACV/water did you use? I use it with the redken allsoft conditioner (while the conditioner is on my hair) and it works...maybe too much ACV?

Be careful with acv it can leave hair brittle over time because it's a strong acid

These are great tips! Thank you! However, I think you forgot about us gals with high porosity thin hair. Heavier oils will only weight my hair down and feel too heavy on my hair. I tend to stay with lighter oils like Jojoba, Almond, etc. , but I totally agree with everything else you mentioned. I still haven’t tried the L.O.C. method so I will start doing that👌🏼

Good point for when I do a blowout and want my hair lighter. When I'm doing twists/braids I just want to hold the moisture, so even with thin hair I still do well with the heavier oils. But yes, when doing a straight style lighter is better and I know the moisture is going to be taken from my hair by the heat regardless. Otherwise it will revert instead of remaining straight.

You are so good explaining all this. My hair is high porosity but it hates honey, eggs and mayonnaise it’s get hard and stiff also is not so good with those whipped cream products it gets very heavy and weighs down on the other side it responds very good to Jamaican black castor oil and acv.. understanding what’s going on is so complicated I’m trying to learn more and minimize blow drying my hair.

Great tips! I was so glad to see you pull out the pomegranate & honey leavein. I was just thinking that would be the perfect one for the method you're describing. I also am using castor oil anytime I'm wearing my hair in twists or any protective style. I hadn't thought of putting cream or a heavier leavein on top, but will try that. Also love the reminder to keep the plastic cap on the parts of the hair not yet styled. I get lazy about that, but it really does matter.

I’m very glad to have found your video. I have done very well with figuring out how and when to do my proteins and deep conditioning treatments. I was kind of thrown off about nit using honey because my hair absolutely loves the Shea Moisture Manuka honey deep conditioner. I use it as a base, adding avocado oil, essential oils to enhance the treatments. I have been looking for a styling cream to use on my base when braiding hair. Eliminating crochet styles as using human hair along the length of my hair and then, adding synthetic hair to enhance the color and length to my braids. This helps keep in moisture and prevents breakage. I use Blue Magic Castor Oil formula for my braided and flat twists. I think I may add the Shea Moisture ACV leave in to my regimen. Ny sin recommended it to my many years ago. I don’t like the shampoo. I use an oatmeal honey shampoo bar. I’m a teacher and really appreciate your video!❤

This is a great video! Thank you for posting. I have in between 3b and 3c hair. I used the Mielle leave in conditioner on clean damp hair. I was disappointed to see how it made my hair feel and look later in the day. I didn't use a lot. Maybe about 6 pumps as my hair is on the med-thick side. But yeah I didn't like how it looked or felt. Especially since it is also marketed as a detaingler, it didn't do that either. Unfortunately, it made my hair feel like straw and dry. It almost looked like I had some serious bedhead going on. It smells really good, but it doesn't work in my hair. I question sometimes if these "leave in conditioners" are just a conditioner that is really used for washing out of the hair, but they market it as "leave in." Otherwise regardless of the brand, why would it make your hair feel like there's a lot of build up? Hmmm. Anyway, I have tried so many things and nothing seems to work. Lol.

Wouldn't you not want to have a plastic cap on while styling since that will keep your cuticles open as you said? Especially if you just rinsed with cold water and did the loc method to close/seal the cuticle. I always spray my hair with aloe vera juice after washing/conditioning to help close the cuticle.

Thank you for this explanation. I just did a big chop where i shaved off all of my hair because it wasn’t growing. I wanna say that I do have high porosity hair because i over use products that have different kinds of ingredients that I use on my hair, as well as washing it with hot water and using different types of shampoos/ conditioner. As well as blowdrying and combing it everyday. I believe that is what caused me to have high hair porosity because I’m an impatient person and I don’t know what my hair likes. I want to be able to use natural products. Or would it be best to not be any products on my hair? Right now my hair is shaved so should I wait until it starts to grow out?

I've never used jojoba oil personally, but it depends on how your hair reacts to it. From my research, I learned that jojoba oil is that it is the most similar to our natural oils from our scalp. For that reason, I predict it won't seal very well but will make your hair feel soft!
