I gotta say, a couple months after I made some other comments on this video, that last night I stopped at a local late night meet spot to see what cars are out and what's new with setups. A guy had this Edelbrock SC setup on his '18 Mustang 6 speed car. The Edelbrock supercharger looked really nice on his white GT. He said he had the shop who tuned him do the install but he was there. Said it was straight forward and could be done pretty easily if have the time and space. He had headers installed too so he didn't run the base map, just the custom map. This is a great size SC he said as if he wanted to up the boost down the road he can swap pulleys. His car pulls really hard as it is and going to stage 2 would be easy to upgrade to with supporting mods. He is extremely happy with the Edelbrock kit.
I used this video to install it on my 2017GT. Almost identical instructions. Took 2 days...Bought about 300.00 in tools I didn't have. Really pleased with install that looks factory. Had an issue with reservoir leaking and they sent another quick and no charge. Just be careful with front fascia or you'll need the latches- go FORD :( Fuel rail bolts were a slight pain. I'm no mechanic but have good mechanical know-how. I'm a PC support tech, but I'd install again in a heartbeat. I'm running the canned tune but getting a better dialed-in dyno-tune in spring. After about 10 street races only losing to a twin turbo stang, the clutch blew up. Upgraded to a 1000HP clutch and have halfshafts already ordered. Overall money well spent for the fun it gives back. I ordered mine from CJP because they made such an awesome video. Bill deserves props.

Nearing the end of my install and have to admit this video was super helpful. Few things that had me confused were the Edelbrock instructions listed 4 harnesses to unplug on the back of the stock intake manifold... My 21 has only 3. I found installing the fuel rails after would have been easier, the rear isn't as tight as expected and they were hard to manage on the blower getting the bolts in. Overall everything went well, great job and although the instructions that came with the blower are good I dont think I would have been able to do as easily as I did without the video.

Gen3R or go home. Edelbrock and Whipple are dominating the 18+ game for Superchargers making big numbers and fast times, but that Gen3R is king on the 11/17 cars that can fit it.
I am torn between the same two for my 16 also. I keep going back and forth. I feel like the Edelbrock is a cleaner more factory look which I like but I want to get the one that will give me the best performance.
what gap is your spark plugs? are they Motorcraft? Getting a spark knock on high end, trying to figure out if the gap is wrong or if I just need to add Lucas to the fuel. Thanks
So let’s say the water pump goes out. Who’s warranty covers that Ford or Edlebrock? I can see Ford challenging that. What about vehicle insurance? Since the vehicle is now “modified” does it nullify ones insurance policy?
J C well I guess you would if you want to protect yourself and your family from complete financial ruin. Let’s say you strap this thing on and don’t tell the insurance. You get into an accident that is your fault and cause injury or death to others in another car, people in your car, or yourself. The insurance company denies the claim. You are now on the hook for all the medical liabilities. Bankruptcy cannot be filed when there are injuries. The best thing to do is keep it stock or buy it supercharged from the factory.
I have this on on my 2018 petty edition. I love it. Just miss that supercharger whine that my kb mammoth had on my 08 Shelby. This supercharger is quiet.

I've been hearing lots of good things in regards to both the Whipple supercharger and a VMP. What are some things that might make this one better then the competition?
Is that a 3-year 36000 mile warranty from when you purchase the supercharger? So if I have 10,000 miles already on my 18 Mustang will the warranty be good till 46000 miles on my 18gt?

Easiest way to make that install crazy easy is to pay a mechanic.
ummm NO!
I mean, it already looks crazy easy. Especially with the included instructions and this video.
You have to, to get Edelbrock's warranty.
The problem is, it's not that easy to find a good honest mechanic that you can trust to do the job properly.
That's right. Don't attempt this unless you do this for a living.
Awesome video!
Thank you for showing us
Would be nice to hear SC whine.
Not1But2And3 I have the 2018 petty edition with this supercharger and I definitely miss the whine. I had an 08 Shelby with a kb mammoth on it b4 this one and that thing whined loud!
@@willwilliams9437 Sorry for late reply. Yeah. I want it to sound like a jet engine! :)
still cant decide between this or the vmp gen3r on my 16..ugh im sure id be happy with either
HotShotVQ35 go with this trust me bro I love mines
Go with the Edelbrock!
E-FORCE!
How cool does this stay compared to the Roush and Whipple etc...???
Little weary of edelbrock after the performer rpm heads I bought years ago.
I can't find that belt tensioner at 12:54 to save my LIFEE!!
I'd throw the thickest rad available for that model year aswell, love SC'd vehicles ! :D
Great video Bill, but this music reminds me of talent show scene from "Revenge of the Nerds"
Can you re-install you strut tower support brace and still close the normal hood with the super charger installed?
No the brace will not clear the supercharger.
what gap is your spark plugs? are they Motorcraft? Getting a spark knock on high end, trying to figure out if the gap is wrong or if I just need to add Lucas to the fuel. Thanks
So let’s say the water pump goes out. Who’s warranty covers that Ford or Edlebrock? I can see Ford challenging that. What about vehicle insurance? Since the vehicle is now “modified” does it nullify ones insurance policy?
Do you dare call you're insurance company and tell them the vehicle had a supercharger? 🤔😉
@@jimbeam4111 joke much
J C not really. The info is out there. Look it up.
@@jimbeam4111 get over yourself. It was a joke
I guess that warranty would come in handy when the oil pump gears shatter?
Haha, true. Just don't spin it over 7k.
how much and what would be the chances someone in a auto shop would be able to effectively install this if I were to purchase it? Thanks.
My shop is going to charge me $1500 for a complete install, custom tune and dyno.
Do they make a supercharger kit for the 5.2 voodoo engine
Warranty question. Does it start when u install or is it like a factory warranty?
I have this on on my 2018 petty edition. I love it. Just miss that supercharger whine that my kb mammoth had on my 08 Shelby. This supercharger is quiet.
I agree. I like the whine. But now you got the ultimate sleeper if you want!
Love the video! I ended up going twin turbo on my 2018 though!
What kind of watch is that youre wearing i really dig it !
Thanks! Its a Seiko Prospex Ocean.
Quick question. Can you use corsa long tube headers with a borla switch fire mid pipe to factory 2019 bullitt mufflers? Or what would be the best route for long tube headers?
So why does this version pump out 700 but the kit for the 6.4 Hemi only adds 85 hp for $8k????
That's retarded money for only 85hp! U can nearly get that with intake, full exhaust and a good tune!
The G.O.A.T. PwillY I know thats my point. Not fair that the Mustang gets such a bump but the Hemi does not.
@@landonsrt9587 I did look on a site that sells them and every other supercharger they show the power increase in rwhp and then back to crank power. So it looks like its showing total power in rwhp gained. It would definitely make more sense if so lol
The G.O.A.T. PwillY your still talking about. 200 hp gain for the stock 5.0 vs the hemi.
@@landonsrt9587 I thought we was talking about the 392 hemi gains with the supercharger???
Awesome Video !
MPG city, highway, combined ?
Have they been ironed out the transmission tunes on the A10? Read quite a few complaints on TH-cam & forums
Ford axels? Are know to let go under high horse power which is why Mustang owners have to get half-shafts, How does EdelBrock deal with this issue? Concerning warranty?
I would never trust myself with this
@Markus Patients my jet ski quit while I was on the water because the battery got disconnected because the bolt came out..
@Markus Patients I was the one that connected the battery at the beginning of the year..
@Markus Patients me, I used a wrench this time, instead of a screwdriver
I wouldn't trust anyone but myself to do this.
@cjponyparts I cant find the dyno video for this package?
Awesome, I so want one! One day , one day
Hey bud just installed mine . My heaters not working now. Any thoughts?
Would you recommend the Edlebrock Supercharger or the Roush Superchsrger for a 2020 model GT
Dint know that there is a running horse on the headlight assembly just above the indicator line at 4:27. Its like a Jeep easter egg thing I believe.
I've been hearing lots of good things in regards to both the Whipple supercharger and a VMP. What are some things that might make this one better then the competition?
Its not.
Price
damn that thing sounds amazing
Is that a 3-year 36000 mile warranty from when you purchase the supercharger? So if I have 10,000 miles already on my 18 Mustang will the warranty be good till 46000 miles on my 18gt?
Ancient Ruins Official You need to go drive that thing! I’ll hit 20K in my ‘18 GT in a week
@@HughesEnterprises 😄😄😄
No, your warranty will only be good till 36,000 miles
@Kong 76 well that sucks😑😤....that's for the info 😎👍
@Kong 76 I traded my 16 in for a 18gt about a year ago and I definitely have no regrets. The 10speed is insane. The Digital dash is like a video game😄👌. But the 2020 models are right around the corner...🤔😏....
Can't wait to see how the Edelbrock supercharger compares to the new VMP Gen 3R supercharger on the 18 & up Mustang GTs! Have to wait until after VMP debuts it at SEMA though.
VMP is way better.
I really like this system
that super charger look nice, but i want to heard that whine this one make.
The more I look at the new 5.0's makes me want to get ride of the old 2003 Cobra for one.
Cobra is more special, I wouldn't
Keep the Terminator. Coyote Mustangs are a dime a dozen.
where's the shock tower brace????
Fantastic, ive made up my mind thanks to this.
Does anybody know if you can program the fans for a lower temp thermostat with the supplied BDX? I did this kit a few weeks ago on my 18. It's definitely worth the $!!
Michael Meredith the temp control is in the Edelbrock tune. You would need a custom tune to change that
Is this supercharger reliable ?
Why should someone get this instead of Roush for example ?
Personal preference really, both kits use them same Eaton R2650 so they are both very reliable.
Roush heatsoaks - Edelbrock does not.
