We need more experimenting using this concept. I am using a 1999 for speed sensor and GM HEI module and standard 12v coil as well. Seems like there needs to be shielding on the wires for the wires.
ON your sears lawn tractor did you have to use the 1980 style chrysler control module to made the engine run? I have a HH100 Tecumseh engine that I have put a Ford 150 rear axial speed sensor to a 1980 Chevy ignition control module . The module has 4 pins on it 1 for battery which is connected to a round coil on the + side and the - side going to the module and the speed sensor also going to the module. I am getting spark but not consistantly, sometimes the spark turns into a torch. Need some help. Ken
I would like to know too. I have a hh100 that is set up like yours Ken except I'm using a 2000s chevy wheel sensor. I found if I separate the wires from the sensor and wrap them in tinfoil then ground the tinfoil I have alot less misfire but I can not get it to run decent at high rpms. Will try to raise the second timing pin and see if that helps me. If I have some success I will check back in.
My HH100 solid state coil is burnt out, I want the engine to run a log splitter at 3000 RPM. others say the ford wheel sensor and GM ing. mod works up to 2000 ROMs and then misses. How dose the senser know what pin to to run on? What do you recommend? thanks. 2-14-23

Ed, does the brand of speed sensor matter, or can it be any brand from any vehical?

I was wondering if you could lengthen the advance trigger pin with a little welding rod build up without drilling or pulling it out ?

Nice job how many degrees is the advanced trigger pin at?
If you can't embiggen the the short pin could a man file down the long pin

At what rpm does the advance take place?
Ed has another video that shows the advanced spark happening around 350 RPM. RPM is adjustable by adjusting the height of the short pin.
