you have inspired me to start a youtube channel myself! and make the move to Thailand, have heres to a good year of making videos and having good times ✌
"You can only make something as good, as your ingredients are." - Spot on, Gary... And I'm certainly impressed. Almost unreal to get Southern Thai food like this in the UK.
Haven't been able to get back to Thailand for a couple of years so next time I'm in London I'm stopping there for lunch, maybe dinner aswell, closing my eyes and imagining. Cheers!
Happy New Year to you and Family mate. Your knowledge, honesty, matter of fact and narration of Thai food is top notch Gary. It's so much better than 99.9% of others without any drama or silly facial expressions.😋
I think that piper leaf (you called it a betel leaf earlier but corrected yourself) is the same type used for "bo la lot" in Vietnam, which is wrapped around ground beef and grillled.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am sorry for missing an opportunity to meet you in my adopted city, because I am still staying with my family in🇺🇲 ❤️❤️.
The food looked really delicious and the place is sort of "authentic" Asian cooking with lots of good flavour, - but, the prices (Lol !) are very different. I am happy to see you back in BKK !! i will be there on 23. Jan. and i cant wait .......Ty ! Gary👍🍀
I don't expect to find myself in London any time soon, but if I did happen to wind up there by chance, I guess I'd have to eat here. Those were some great dishes for a cold and damp winter's day. Happy New Year to you and yours; its good to take a break from the usual once in a while. Can't wait to see what's coming up in Bangkok in the new year. PS - I think Gaeng Massaman beef curry was the first meal I ever ate in Thailand; it was the easiest to relate to for a starter.
Mate lived and worked in London all my life never seen a restaurant like this out of Thailand, as you said all those little things that make it Thai from king portraits to plastic stapled to tables , if it’s as authentic tasting as it looks and you describe can’t wait to get down there. Gutted I didn’t know about it till now,😂, wicked vid 👍🏻
A brilliant share👏 Loved it especially your pronunciations on the foods! I also live in Thailand and the UK. There’s a great Thai restaurant worth trying in Brixton Market called Kho Sarn! Thanks again for sharing! 🎉
Well done again! Happy to see so many positive comments showing their appreciation for what you do. I’ll also make time to support your channel, please let me know how! Change of subject:- What school in London did you attend? Take care. 💃🏾
Thai food has many regions of Thailand. Isaan food is simple food. because it is a wilderness It was dry at that time. The food in the south was influenced by food from the central region, but it was more spicy than in the north. In the past Isaan food was raw food until a parasitic disease appeared in the brain. Most of the food was named from Drunken men, such as Nam Tog nam tog (Nam = water, Tog = Falling But No Water ter Fall). Meat was grilled in a charcoal oven. The meat's juice fell into the charcoal grill. Another food is Ser Rong Hai (ser=tiger, Ronghay= crying). I don't know if the tiger is crying because of the heat or the meat is sticky. until unable to chew
Thanks for this video, it was entertaining and interesting like always! I guess it would also be intresting for your subscribers to make a video with typically British food ;-)
The massaman looks amazing, almost as nice as my best massaman I've ever had, strangely, not in Southern Thailand, but in a place in Bang Sare, next to the Kept hotel, called Manga & Hubba. Would be good to get your opinion on it. I had something similar in Mexico to that Lagerita, they called it an Iceberg there and it was half a lager mixed with a frozen margarita, still arguably the best EVER cocktail I've ever had. I only work 20mins from this place,, and must have walked past it a half dozen times and never even noticed it!! This area of town must be pretty popular for Thai food, there is also a Thai food stand next to Goodge Street station and there's a cute little Thai restaurant on Warren Street. You need to check them out the next time you're in London!! Would be good to get your opinion of the food.
We always seem to stay on either fullham Rd near the station or kings rd about the same distance. We found a reasonable viet restaurant not too far, but only rubbish Thai restaurants. Any leads for better quality places around that neck of the woods?
ขอบคุณ MR.Gary พาเที่ยวชม ว่าอาหารไทยนั้น around the world ของจริง ...แอบได้ยินว่าเปิดเพลงไทยด้วย..สงสัยว่า เจ้าของที่เป็นฝรั่งต้องพูดไทยได้แน่นวล
Now a day many foreign chef has mastered the way of Thai food to create authentic Thai dish while Thai chef study other nation dish to creat fusion Thai dish. Authentic Thai dish is what we eat every day in Thailand so we seek something more exciting like other nation food with Thai touch in it. Try spaghetti pad kaprao,Pad kee mao or panang, tomyum, padkapao pizza
Hi mate. This place looks great. Will definitely be checking it out! Btw have you been to Esarn Kheaw in Shepherds Bush? It’s a North eastern Thai restaurant. Very authentic. I’m married to a thai guy and he said it’s the best thai restaurant he’s found in london so far. I’m glad you’ve now introduced me to another. 👍
Gonna have to check them out now they've got your thumbs up, was only in the same food hall a few month back. Hard to find genuine Thai food in London that doesn't temper to the Western taste buds
Southern Thai isn't my favorite. However, it all looks great! It would be interesting to compare the pricing between the dishes in Thailand and in London. Here, the economy is based lower and ingredients are locally sourced. In London, that's another story ...
Covid-19 viruses are afraid of you who always have spicy Thai food fulled of herbs. 😉 Your clips always make me hungry. LOL 😁 Thank you for your work. 👍 Happy New Year 2023! Best wishes for you and your family. Please take care, ❤️🙏
@@theroamingcook I tried horseshoe crab eggs once… it was enough. Not sure why people like it. Not a fan of giant water bugs either. But other spicy chilies I’m great with.
Despite tall the hype of Thai food, it, I'm getting over slowly the repugnant smells after a number of trips. My nostrils may have become immune from the villainous compounds that offended my nostrils. It looks like my journey with Thai food is a going to be a progression, which has made some progress through the years. I've become immune to some smells and now enjoy taking a whiff of a paste I at my at my local Asian Market, despite it rank as it connects me to a country I love. With time, my threshold has receded and has been more welcoming. I've always from the start I fine with Lanna cuisine and southern dishes. I have no issues with hot spices as I can munch on a Habanero during a meals.. I've been more welcoming to Thai food on each visit. In my case, it seems like it will be the acquired taste route. I'll be there next month and try to expand my palate. No matter what, I always end up pissing out of my arse in Bangkok - even with western food. 😝 I'm looking forward to some good eats on my upcoming visit. Appreciate and value your channel, as eating is a mankind sensual pleasure we all share. All the best. ..... Oh, I'm open meeting you and trying some gnarly stuff.
You are Thai dishes professional🤗

It is yes, everyone calls in betal leaf in translation but it’s actually Piper sarmentosum. They are almost the same to be honest
Yes Gary. Checked out this spot today based on this video. Really enjoyed the Deep South set menu. It’s a certified banger. Cheers for the heads up! 🍺

Wow London now has proper Thai food. the portion seems a bit short tho.
Small portions as it’s a set but if you order a la carte it’s much bigger
