    Very same album - you have to react to:
    - “Voice of the Soul”, a beautiful instrumental piece;
    - “Spirit Crusher”, energetic and extremely technical song; and
    - “Painkiller”, covering the Judas Priest’s masterpiece and making it ever better lol!

    PS: "Possessed" coined the term Death Metal, but Death had the first album that can be agreed upon _was_ Death Metal.

    • @shagstars
      @shagstars 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Had a lot of discussions about that subject. Possessed had a more thrashy vocal style and the thrash influence was still there in the majority of their songs. Death really moved past that (and were actually busy doing that in 1984 as mantas). Another band that influenced a lot of extreme death metal bands was the band Wehrmacht (whichwas the first extreme metal band that used that many blast beats and tempo switches dispite being very hardcore punk driven crossover).

    • @shagstars
      @shagstars 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @shagstars
      @shagstars 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @JezBollah 667 Well depends on what kind of death metal you listen to. I listen to more progressive or melodic death metal (Death athiest and carcass to name a few) and most of their work doesnt contain blast beats (on some ocasions carcass do use it but in little amounts). Things like cannibal corpse are more brutal death metal thing with stripped down lyrics, less harder riffs (even though not all riffs are easy) and vocals that are harder to understand.

      @mrdeathamore 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Symoblic was my favorite album several years ago, but the weakest spot of this album that its very linear, every song has a linear structure. For example TSOP is much more versatile, Human and ITP sounds more technical to me, so that why I'm saying that Symbolic is a more classical metal album. DEATH is one of those bands you either Love or Hate. Personally, I love them. But I didn't always. I got into DEATH in 1990 as a Junior in HS when they released their 3rd album "Spiritual Healing." (Still one of their top albums. Probably Top 3 out of the 8 total.) But yeah, when DEATH debuted in 1987 with "Scream Bloody Gore" it was one of, if not the first Death Metal albums ever. And a Technical Death Metal band at that too. So getting used to these style of vocals and weird progressive style riffings was kinda difficult at first, as the only other heavy style of music was Thrash and the first wave of Black Metal (like Mercyful Fate and King Diamond). But like a good 80s Metalhead, I continued collecting their discography throughout the 90s...on cassette, until it came to the 1999's "Sound of Perseverance" here, because it didn't release on cassette. Only on CD. And it wasn't until about 2008 or so that I finally re-bought the entire catalog on CD with their 2008 remasters. However, it was a waste of money at the time. Because 3 years late, in 2011, the band's Estate run by Chuck's widow moved all of their Music Rights over to Relapse Records, and proper 2-disc re-remasters were done, starting with this album, and working backwards. And by 2014, they finally got out "Scream Bloody Gore" and then all was good with the world. So you may ask, is there that much difference between the 2008 [Century Media] remasters and the 2011-2014 Relapse Records remasters? And the answer is YES. The 2008 remasters really didn't sound all that much different than the original pressings, but perhaps cleaned up a little bit, but the Relapse Records remasters are not only cleaned up, but any muddiness is gone, the sound is crisper, and also does not suffer from any of the Loudness War shenanigans that plagued the 2008 remasters. Plus the fact that each album got 2 CDs is another bonus. They varied from being full of Live Tracks to Instrumental and rare unleashed Demo tracks. Relapse did the DEATH Catalog good. But it was weird waiting 3 years to collect the entire 8 record run though. I think Spiritual Healing was released in 2013, so it took a while. Oh, but here's the funny part...their 1995 album, "Symbolic" was released on Roadrunner Records, and that label never gave up the rights to that album. But they did release their own 2-disc set in 2008 as well, and it's actually pretty good. Mixing isn't quite the same as the Relapse remasters, but it's close and still easy to listen to.
    But with all that jibber jabber aside, DEATH's music still stands the test of time to this day even though the band disbanded after Chuck's death in 2001 from brain cancer. It's ashamd too, because the band could have been putting out kick ass albums till this day. They put out 8 albums over the course of 12 years, imagine where they'd be now hadn't their front man died? They'd probably have around 20 albums out by now.

      @@derpherpula592 That's not the case for me. I've listened to a lot of death metal actually.
      From the obvious classics like Morbid Angel,Incantation,Immolation,Obituary,Autopsy etc to newer stuff like Morbus Chron,Horrendous,Dead Congregation...
      I follow the scene and check plenty of bands but I just don't like the majority of it.

    The first 3 records are more in the vein of the "death metal" you're probably thinking of so if you're looking for more stuff like this from the band I would suggest Symbolic, one of the most unique sounding albums of all time imo. Also, I have a feeling you'd like Arch/Matheos, any song would do but allow me to suggest "Never in Your Hands" or "Neurotically Wired" You're Welcome ;) Cheers from Canada mate.

After i find DEATH in the early 90's and i stop search bands. Chuck was such a genius so sad he must go so early. Control Denied was not so mine but i hear them becauce the genius Chuck maked em. Sorry for my english is not my native language. In Chuck words "Let the Metal flow".

And I mean as usual my request is Opeth - "Burden". When I first heard them I was mesmerized and pissed because they name the band "Death" and I was always like "stupid name....stupid music...I'm not even gonna waste my time"...I couldn't be more wrong.

    I have a question. When youtubers publish videos like this some get dmca take down notices and some don’t. What can be done to prevent dmca take down and copyright notices? Can someone help me understand please?

    • @JimNewstead
      @JimNewstead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you have to go into each video expecting it to be taken down, but a good way to test it first is to upload the music/music video without it being public before you spend any time or effort creating your own content to accompany it. That way you’ll get the copyright notice and its implication to your channel but at no risk to your strike status. I will always do that with bands I’ve not listened to before. Official videos will almost always be blocked. It’s not the music but the moving picture that is the troublesome element with music videos. Best to avoid them altogether unless you are sure they will be allowed. Assume every single video you make that incorporates someone else’s music will have a copyright notice applied to it, you won’t be able to monetise it and the video WILL most likely carry adverts with earnings being collected by the copyright holder. If you want to make money from your TH-cam videos then using other people’s copyrighted material is not going to help you!

    • @bozkurtbozok4597
      @bozkurtbozok4597 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JimNewstead thank you for your detailed response I truly appreciate it. It makes sense, so as long as you create your own content and publish it I should not have any problem then it seems. But one area is gray area to me if I may ask your opinion and if you can tell me your honest opinion I would appreciate it. Let’s say I have videos showing my designs and I really like listening rock music while designing stuff during my design process and at the background I listen some rock bands while showing my designs, no visuals just the songs, would that infringe these bands rights? Or while designing I watch twitch gaming sessions from various gamers. What is your opinion? Thank you for your time.
