This is an ongoing issue for Rivian and their R1 models. I believe the last two OTA updates have addressed some of the vampire drain but IMHO they have a ways to go as my R1S vampire drain is still too high - 3-5% when parked outside in cold temps. A friend of my has a Model X and does NOT use his security cameras because of the excessive battery drain. Like you, I have my Gear Guard on for everywhere but home. None the less, if you haven't already, an isolation test of just having the Gear Guard feature turned on (compared to your scenario in this video) would be interesting to see how much of difference there is in vampire drain over the same time frame (46.5 hrs). Food for thought for future video (if you haven't already) especially since Rivian has released a couple of software updates in this area. (BTW, I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the vids!)

Good info...all that is from being a connected vehicle and maintaining the battery pack. You can verify to see the difference by leaving your vehicle outside vs the shaded garage same thing with my Tesla

Looks like the vehicle is using about 126 watts when not in use. Another TH-cam channel indicated there is a software switch that could be used to place the vehicle in shipping mode, but they did not see any difference using the switch. What was the temperature in your garage during this test?

John thanks for the insight. I would say it was btw 50 - 60 degrees. I'm in PA and it was the beginning of October.

Thanks Haul for checking out the battery drain. Based on your finding its approximately 2% drain for a day?

      Roughly btw 2 - 3%

Your phone will lose charge too if you shut it off and store it.

Very much agreed. No complaint here just got questioned on how much will be lost. Any loss on power is still worth the truck for me. Thanks for the comment.

Both my Tesla Y Performance and current Kia EV6 lose maybe 1% after sitting 5.5 days at my work. Obviously everything off and stay out of the app. Waiting on my R1T and this Phantom drain concerns me if it will be sitting this long. Not sure why Rivian seems to have this problem...seems excessive to me.

I agree. I'm gonna call my rep that I feel could be mitigated by an update down the road. I'm sure it is computer software running in the background
