A very interesting solution at 09:00 is to use eyebolts, carabiners and clamps. Adam, tell me, please, if you raise the ring above your head, will there be enough tension so that the elastic bandages do not bend in half and the carabiners start clinking against the eye bolts? These videos reminds me of an old TV show "Burn Notice" if you didn't have seen it you should check it out one day, it has the same flow... Only difference is on that show it "shows" you how to make spyware from everyday equipment, the exactly the same way you show us how to make this rig... During watching this video I kept wondering why I'm having such a familiar feeling... then suddenly, bingo, it's the TV show...🤣 I guess one day I may try this DIY myself even if I'm not in this industry and such thing is a overkill for my recreational use, but it just so cool! Thank you very much for the video. Especially for the part which brings the light on pro&contra about tilta float+steadicam VS ring grip+gimbal support. I guess Tilta Float is not for me (on a current youtube project) because I'm changing focal lenghts on my zoom lens pretty much often when shooting, the footage is planning on-the-go most of the time. So adding extra time for rebalancing steadicam might be problematic 🥲However i must do something to eliminate steps on a complicated and unpredictable terrains
this video is driving me a little crazy but i think i'm getting close to a slightly different design. I have ares dual handle z axis and it is supposed to handle 5 kg my rs2 with camera is about 3.2 kg and smallrig ring is about 1.5 kg i'm modding the ares handles anyway but they may give the suspension i need for this set up. thanks for the inspiration adam

Hey Adam - Beautiful work! I just picked up a Ronin 4D and am thinking about building a modified version of your rig to use with it. Have you tested this on your 4D with a single arm? Or perhaps with both arms, and connected to your 4D by the cross bar that you hung your test weights on at around 10:05 in this video? Would love to hear your thoughts about this rig with your 4D! Tilta really makes some of the coolest shit and usually super well made, love their stuff. Only really owned a couple of their cages but they were great
@bestboyadam How did you mount the Ring nuts? Are those m4 bolt with an unthreaded upper? And is the Ring nut itself M8 in size? How do you make that ring nut rotate smoothly? The cinemilled spindles are so smooth, but unfortunately don't really fit the Tilta ring. Any solutions for a buttery smooth tilt movement? Compliments on your solutions, you really know your stuff!

I can see you use SIRUI 35mm. Have you tried Vazen 28mm or Altas 32mm? :)

@bestboyadam How did you mount the Ring nuts? Are those m4 bolt with an unthreaded upper? And is the Ring nut itself M8 in size? How do you make that ring nut rotate smoothly? The cinemilled spindles are so smooth, but unfortunately don't really fit the Tilta ring. Any solutions for a buttery smooth tilt movement? Compliments on your solutions, you really know your stuff!
