    • @kashyusaf9260
      @kashyusaf9260 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got mine yesterday. If you're a big guy like me, the vest won't even go round your waist. If you try and support this with tactical belts, it's a lottery. If you attach the arm the whole setup will tilt forward, screw up the balance of the arm and place such pressure into your back, you won't last even 3 minutes.
      It's a major, major issue. Can't recommend a purchase of this at all, even though the gimbal and the arm is fantastic quality. The vest/belt is literally the backbone of the system and it fails incredibly.

    If they made this including the batteries and an external monitor and lowered the price a bit it would be the end all to all gimbals. As of now you can build this same rig with the rs2 and flycam’s galaxy vest and redking and have the rig break down into individual other rigs.

    This may be a stupid question, but is the Nato rail on the bottom supposed to be in the kit. I've gotten to the part in the tutorial where you connect the vmount plate with a mini tripod on one side and then connect the pole to the top of the Vmount plate with a nato rail. But the Vmount plate that came in mine has a female nato rail receptor on the top. And the bottom of the rod has a female NATO rail receptor on the bottom. So, it's trying to connect a female NATO receiver to a female NATO receiver. It's almost like there's supposed to be some kind of double NATO rail device that lives between the bottom of the rod and the top of the Vmount plate. But I don't see anything else in the case that would serve that purpose. Am I missing a part that is supposed to connect the top of the Vmount plate to the bottom of the pole? Or, is there something obvious that I'm just missing?

      @@JeanLondonDia not sure why "cute" was in there. Typo? Yea I get that. I want a ptap as well as 2pin at the top. Looks like they're intentionally limiting the product to drive sales for their raven thing (not supporting accessories easily makes them sell their own accessories). Ill have to look at the 2pin power capabilities. Not sure why they have dual batteries but are plugging into power into just one. Makes me think its not running dual batteries.The system is like 95% there, but the 5% that its missing is crucial. Haha yea don't know if that would happen man (them sending products). Probably not going to be used in the "professional cinema realm". steadicam days are usually designed around the steadicam move, essentially meaning its their A-cam. Cinema realm isn't using a komodo as their A-cam. Higher end commercials, documentaries, shorts, etc, for sure. Cinema, probably not.

      @@ReadySetGoPictures the reply was obvious, “so buy it and use it?”
      Moving forward Red Raven is being discontinued if I’m not mistaken. I personally use the Red Komodo for fashion, beauty, and editorial commercial work. I am currently using the Red Komodo without the BP 955 batteries and balancing it on the RS2. The Dtap capabilities allows me to do so through 3rd party batteries.
      I think it would be a great opportunity to show the range of things you could do with the product with the range of production you are looking to achieve. As products are becoming cheaper, this leaves limitless opportunities for creativity from DSLRs to Cinema cameras.
      From social media content to short films and even maybe featured films. If you have the creative mind to make it happen it can.
      I look forward to see how I could utilize this tool in my workflow to create amazing work.
      Outside of that closed mouths don’t get fed.

      @@JeanLondonDia Yea the raven got discontented a year or so ago, they definitely phased it out prior to the discontinuation, and the komodo is better as well IMO. Awesome man, its a powerful setup.
      Absolutely. Ive used two Komodos on features already as additional cameras. They're great for cutaways and any light weight rigs, I don't think they'll replace A-Cams anytime soon, but they're a powerful tool.
      Red has dropped a lot of bombs the past few years. The Komodo is a great win. I can't wait to see where they go with it.
      Lightweight cameras means faster setups and use with less cumbersome gimbals (ie rs2 vs movi)
